I was in Santa Cruz for work and needed my nails done for a photoshoot. I decided to try this place and I regret it. I was highly overcharged. I got gel removed on my nails and had a full set with gel and some rhinestone design. I also got a gel pedicure. I was charged $140!! I have never in my life paid this much for such a horrible job. It hasn't even been two weeks and all the rhinestones on my nails are fell off. Also the lady that did my nails, She did not know what the heck she was doing, I told her multiple times if she couldn't do the design I was asking for then don't do it! She told me no! She knows how and all the design on my nails are crooked and it looks so tacky. Not to mention when you go there they are always speaking in the language while in your face, using tools and not paying attention to why they're doing. That is so disrespectful and unprofessional. The lady ended up cutting my little finger with the tool because she was too busy talking in their language and not paying attention. I still gave her a chance to finish and she still did a terrible job!! My nails are all bulky and ugly. I wish I went else and got my money back. Never going there ever again! Avoid this salon at all costs. I WISH I knew the name of the lady that did my nails so I could tell you to never let her do yours. I told her that I was going to have engagement pictures done that evening and wanted a fresh set of nails and cuticle cut. Immediately she started working so fast to get them done that she didn't have control of the utensils she was using and she nicked my fingers too many times to count. After she would zap me, she would laugh and wouldn't work any more carefully. I was anxious sitting in that chair bc it was painful. She started getting frustrated with me because I wouldn't "relax my fingers" but I couldn't because I was just anticipating the next time she would nick my skin. She made 2 of my fingers bleed. She also was not gentle with the cuticle cut and yanked at healthy skin so now I have swollen cuticles. Oh if I could only leave 0 stars I would. I've been a long time customer of Tiffany's nails, more than 3 years but in the last 6 months this place has turned for the worst!! I have a nail break within the same week for several weeks. Every time I go in for repair, I'm charged again. I could see if I was causing the breaks but nothing has changed for me in the last three years. I broke my last nail tying my shoe. Finally she tells me come in for a full set, which I do today, she SLICED at least 3 of my fingers. Left sooooo much glue and acrylic under neath my nails, refused to use the drill to clean it and after 2+ hours I really had to go, so I left without polish and was still charged full price. I clearly heard the nail technician tell the woman up front $40 and she still tried to charge me $50... for cut fingers, full of chunky glue and acrylic and no polish!!! Then they overcharged to polish my toes. $25!!!! No pedicure, just polish...$25!! The place as of late stinks, it's dirty, they are rude and even if you call ahead forget appointment times, they don't honor them. Horrible horrible experience. I've come here a few times now (and will continue to come here) their customer service is superb. They actually talk to you and give you advice on nail care etc. I give them 4 stars because I feel their gel painting skills aren't the best since I always have one nail that's uneven but personally that isn't a big issue for me. I love that they actually let each layer of gel cure for the full 60 seconds. It makes it last that much longer. They take their time and don't rush you or push you to get something more expensive. Overall, it's a comfortable and wonderful experience. What I love most about going here is they remember what I like to get. I really recommend this place. read more

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Worst experience at this nail salon EVER. My daughter and I decided to go get our nails done for the holidays we went a hour before closing and they had such horrible attitudes. My daughter waited 30 minutes to get her nails done while 3 ladies walked around doing nothing. Other than Kenny, the place was not so friendly. I went in to inquire if they could take two manicures without a wait and was told yes. My Mom is in a wheelchair. As Hannah did my mothers nails, I sat with foil on my gel nails the entire time hers were in process. Not only did I have to wait until she was done, but Hannah was also very unfriendly. I had been here before and every time left happy with my nails, but this last time was the worst experience ever my nails have lumps asked for white matte short nails and the color looks like it's dripping and just dried off while my nails where under the UV light my nails started burning. So based on their Google reviews, they seem like a place to go to get nails done. Little did I know almost all the good reviews on Google are most definitely fake. The first time I went in I got long stilettos. They turned out OK but the lady nicked me quite a few times and I did end up bleeding. I definitely think $90 was not a suitable price but I figured I'd give it another chance. Three weeks later some of my nails were lifting. I went in to get it fixed and I needed a fill. Turns out most of the nails they said were lifting and I had to replace the whole set and get a new set. I wanted a little bit shorter options and asked for a coffin shape nail. The nails were looking very square so I asked her to make it more of a coffin shape. I had to show her a picture behind her, so she understood what coffin shape was. I kept on asking her to shape it more and more. It started looking better but not great. At this point I kind of gave up. so we moved on to apply Nail polish. I felt pressure to pick from some of these new colors they had. They were all pastel and spring colors. Not my cup of tea. there was one dark one that I did like. I picked that one and as she started painting my nails, they looked a lot lighter. She told me not to worry that she was going to do multiple layers and it looks darker. Still not the color I wanted but now my nails started looking thick and oddly shaped. Then she started trying to say that in different lights, it will look darker. I felt pressured and she kept on saying they look pretty. Went in to get a few nails fixed and a fill and ended up with a new set that I hated I ended up having to pay $70 before tip. As I was looking at my nails when I left I could see that they were crooked and shaped square. I didn't wanna go back clearly the quality of service is not good at this place. read more

They are back!!!! These ladies have been doing my nails for 20 years and I have missed them terribly through the pandemic, but they reopened as of a few weeks ago. Please do not go here if you have an original idea or need something 3D. They do not understand what 3D is yet they charge 55$ for the set. She did not ask me how I wanted my nails shaped or even how long I wanted them. I showed her 5 pictures of what I wanted and I got a half painted on bow and that is not 3D. We came into Tiffany's and were immediately greeted warmly and shown to our seats, no waiting. They were very nice and took care to make us comfortable. Anh, my nail tech, was friendly enough, and gave me the best massage I have ever received at this price point. I'm kinda OCD, so the fact that my nail shape is like 1/100th off center will drive me crazy, but you probably won't notice, or care. Would have been a 4 star kind of place had they not done the one little business practice often unbecoming of the Vietnamese nail salon... "We help you! Pick color!" Run the water. Insert toes. Twenty five minutes later, someone finally gets to me. Had they just said so at the start, I would have happily waited and given them four stars. While everyone was very pleasant, I left the appointment very unsatisfied with my nails. The UV light kept turning off and the tech didn't keep my hands in there any longer. I know the gel nails did not dry properly as there are ridges and bumps on the nail polish. There was paint on my fingers and on the skin around the nail. It's been 3 days and the toenail polish has completely chipped off of a few toes and the gel polish on my hand has started to chip. I wish I read the reviews about other people having the same experience with their gel not drying completely. I am incredibly anal about my nails. I like to keep my acrylics really short and natural looking. However, I've had a difficult time finding someone who is willing to make my nails the length I want without hasseling me. Tiffany (the manager of the salon) always listens to me , is hilarious, & kicks ass at doing nails. If you want a full set or fill, Tiffany is the woman to go to. Tiffany's is SUPER clean and they sanitize everything. The spa pedicure chairs are brand new and have awesome back & butt massagers. Right when you walk in you'll see that they have all the best & hottest OPI nail polish; name a color you want and they've got it. Most of the girls that work there are sweethearts and they take the time to make your nails look damn good. Only bummer about this place is it's ALWAYS crackin & the wait is ridiculous (i.e. be prepared to be there for an hour or more). I strongly recommend making an appointment, but even then you are in for a wait of some sort. But, if you are willing to spend the time to get good service and have your nails done right, Tiffany's is the best place to go in Santa Cruz. Came here just before 2pm on Friday 9/7/12 and wanted a pedicure: I was told to wait: so I waited and waited and waited and then two ladies (walk ins) asked for pedicures and they were seated straight away. I was ignored the entire time. I walked out at 2:30pm and will never come back. Sorry ... you just lost a weekly customer since I am in this area every Friday afternoon.
