I was very pleasantly surprised. What a gem! I was apprehensive at first because of the stigma that has become attached to massage places in recent years. But, despite my apprehension, I went for it and I'm glad I did! Went in and was greeted by a little bundle of energy named Jessica. She was quite personable and friendly and dressed very appropriately, which was good to see. It took less than a minute for my apprehension to vanish. With the knot in my back/neck, I felt like I needed someone strong...and I told her that and I asked if she had another masseuse available, because she is quite petite. She told me the other girl was busy and assured me that she was strong enough. It was quite cute actually, she said "don't worry, I am very strong" and I was just like, "well, okay!" We agreed to an hour, I got ready in the room, and soon she came in and we got going. The hour went quickly and the massage was outstanding, a real good combination of Swedish and Deep Tissue....AND...she WAS surprisingly strong. I was amazed at times by the pain (good pain) she was able to inflict on me at times during the deep tissue. The whole experience ended up being quite enjoyable, from start to finish. Moments of quiet with nice music...moments of relaxation...moments of good pain...and a few laughs because she really has a great personality and good sense of humor. Not even a hint of any shenanigans, which was a pleasant surprise...and the atmosphere was really nice, clean, and professional. Oh, and the knot felt significantly better by the time we finished. I asked her if she was licensed and she pointed to her license hanging right on the wall by the front desk. Just a good overall experience and I'll definitely return.

Cleanliness should be a non negotiable standard in a nail salon, especially when it comes to personal care services. It had been twice the time between my usual cuts, so I understood that a stylist might have to use her imagination to picture the "overall vibe" of my cut when freshly styled. Though some clients were happy with Winslow, the percent of appalling reviews from clients scared me away. I chose a different but equally unknown Kirkland salon from those posting on YELP. While my cut there wasn't perfect, I did at least get a boring version of what I requested -- a style cut short and flat against my head on the left side, gradually lengthening in the back like a short rounded cap that hugged my head and tapered to the nape of the neck, and left long on the right side of my head but shaped to encourage the resulting deep wavy locks to hang languidly over and shade that side of my face. Like, drama. The stylist followed my instructions literally, but she failed artistically to create the look, or mood, I wanted. At least she did a decent job rather than ruin my hair, as too many clients in reviews of Winslow had complained. How hard is it to find a stylist who actually listens to what clients say.

She was able to color correct a botched job at another place. She was super detailed in getting all of my hair foiled without leaving gaps (even the underneath) which is not easy to do. She gave me a beautiful blended blonde with the "money piece" (light piece in the front) exactly how I asked. She also did an amazing hair cut that frames my face so well. The best hair color, cut, and demeanor I have ever experienced when getting my hair done. She is also very kind, patient, listens to what the customer wants, and makes the whole experience very stress free and comfortable. She is also very fair and honest with the pricing. Thank you so much for doing such an incredible job on my hair!
