I can understand the need to wait extended periods of time every once in a while, being that some patients need more than others. I am on a pain medication that I use on a daily basis due to having a condition that can not be fixed by surgery or anything really, all I can do is some stretches that help very little. The pain is so bad that it hurts to walk along with sitting and standing. I have been on this medication for almost 2 years, the Dr has never had a problem refilling my prescription, yet recently since the person has changed in that department it has been like pulling teeth to get them to send the Dr a message for approval. This last call I was on hold for 25 minutes and on the phone for 35. I made a complaint to the supervisor about the girl on the phone who was rude and frankly didn't care. Now I receive a letter in the mail that I am not a patient for 30 days. Yes I was very upset, and I may have come across incredibly harsh, but this is still some type of service industry. This office staff has no bedside manor and they could care less about their patients. I am even more upset because I do not want to see any other Dr. But I may have to because of their disregard for respect and lack of helpfulness.

In the past I've had issues getting my insurance updated. It would take a couple visits or calls to remind them to update my info. There process and system is out dated in comparison to other doctor's my family sees. Such as prescriptions are still manually handed to you instead of directly sent to your pharmacy. Every single meeting with him since has been that way, an actual discussion about my health and not just a "Hmm, sounds like you have this issue, here's a drug for it now get out" conversation like so many other doctors do. When I get blood work done he goes over each reading line by line and explains what they are and what they mean, and how we could manipulate them to get in range if they're not right. He plays it safe with medications and treatments, opting for the minimum required and going up from there. He also listens to my own recommendations and requests and if they're not outrageous he orders them up. If you are in need of a new doctor, Dr. Scott Newman is the one to see. Yelp has incorrect info for his location. He recently started practicing at Marque Urgent Care in Newport Beach and Rancho Santa Margarita. UrgentCare3D/Urgent Med shut down completely and he does not work for them any more.

I arrived about 30-minutes early to my appointment and they took me early. I met with Dr. Chan and he was incredibly gracious, kind, and informative. Knowing I was a new patient, he asked all the right questions to understand my medical history and offered really great advice for my current stage in life. He really spent the time to get to know me and was very patient, personable, and gentle. Great bedside manners and very clear and concise in his advice. I was out the door in about an hour -- very easy process. I'm so glad I found a great office and a new PCP.
