**Disappointing Customer Service and Concerns About Racial Discrimination - Tiffany & Co., Legacy West, Plano, Texas**
On Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at approximately 4:20 PM, I visited Tiffany & Co. at Legacy West in Plano, Texas, to pick up a necklace and bracelet valued at approximately $5,200. What should have been an exciting and enjoyable experience turned into an extremely disappointing and uncomfortable visit.
As an **African American woman**, I left this establishment feeling disrespected, unwelcome, and concerned that my race, physical appearance, and the way I was dressed influenced how I was treated by a female employee.
Throughout my visit, I found the employee's attitude dismissive, unwelcoming, and unprofessional. What was particularly upsetting was observing other customers being offered refreshments while I was not even offered a glass of water. My concern is not simply about receiving water. It is about the noticeable difference in hospitality, courtesy, and customer service that I experienced.
I should not have to wear designer clothing, carry an expensive handbag, or look a certain way to receive the same level of respect and attention as other customers. Being an African American woman should never cause anyone to question my financial ability or whether I belong in a luxury retail establishment.
To make matters worse, when I attempted to speak with management, the female employee informed me that the manager was at lunch. I remained at the store until close to 5:00 PM, yet the manager never appeared to address my concerns. I ultimately left feeling dismissed and disappointed.
I find it troubling that a luxury brand with Tiffany & Co.'s reputation would leave a paying customer feeling this way. The necklace and bracelet I came to collect were valued at approximately $5,200, but the amount of money I spent should not matter. Every customer deserves dignity, fairness, and professional treatment regardless of race, appearance, clothing, or financial circumstances.
**As an African American woman, I should not have to question whether my race or appearance affected how I was treated while shopping.** Although I cannot know the employee's intentions, the differences I observed and the dismissive treatment I experienced raised serious concerns about possible racial discrimination and appearance-based bias.
I am submitting a formal complaint to Tiffany & Co.'s corporate office and requesting that this incident be investigated, including the employee's conduct and management's failure to address my concerns during my visit.
I am sharing this experience publicly because other customers deserve to know about the treatment I encountered. No one should have to spend thousands of dollars to be treated with basic dignity and respect.
**Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend the Tiffany & Co. Legacy West location in Plano, Texas. I will think carefully before spending my money at this establishment again.**
**Luxury is not just about expensive jewelry. It is also about how you treat people. Respect, equality, and professionalism should be extended to every customer.** read more
