Govindji's is your typical high end Jeweler in the sense that they provide a beautiful environment filled with beautiful jewelry, along with a staff of knowledgeable salespeople that will assist you in buying said jewelry. From the moment I pulled up, the building is beautiful and the feel is exquisite. Upon entering the building, you are greeted quickly and immediately notice the beautiful display cases full of beautiful jewelry. In this case, I was not here for a purchase, but rather a watch repair. Govindji's is an authorized Rolex repair facility. They don't do the work in house, they send it to the repair facility and ultimately facilitate the repair. I worked with Pradip Govindji, he was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer any questions I had regarding the brand. We talked for over ten minutes since I had a lot of questions, he was patient and kind. When the time comes for me to buy additional jewelry for myself and/or my family, this is my new go to spot. BUYER BEWARE! We have been customers of Govindji's for about 6 years now, but over the years, we've noticed that their quality AND customer service have been diminishing. I bought my husband's white gold wedding band from them about 5 years ago, and he hardly wears it due to the job he has. It started tarnishing and and turning red. Yes, you read that right...RED! We went to the store a few months ago, and was asked by the greeter what we needed help with. I told her that my husband's ring was tarnishing and she quickly went to the back and brought the owner to come talk to us (red flag). He explained that white gold is only 92% pure and the other 8% is rhodium. Additionally, he told us that it needs to be replated with rhodium every 3-5 years and the charge for this is $60 (I believe); however, he told us he'd do it for free for us. What's interesting is that it was starting to turn red, but my entire wedding band set (2 bands) with the engagement ring from Kay's is worn almost everyday and there are NO signs of tarnishing on it. It makes you wonder where these guys get their products from. Furthermore, the owner gets some kind of sick pleasure repeatedly stating that he's been in business longer than any of the other Indian jewelry stores in the area. Yet, their quality and customer service are subpar. Another thing we have noticed repeatedly is that the customer service isn't equal for all customers. Yes, if you're Indian like we are, they will do everything in their power to secure a sale from you. However, others can be waiting to receive help for a substantially long period of time. This is NOT right! It doesn't matter what you look like - everyone deserves the best customer service. After all, without the customers, you don't have a business! On that same day, my husband wanted to look for a thicker banded gold ring as he didn't find any that he had liked at other jewelry stores. We were a bit skeptical purchasing from them again, but he had found one that he really liked and we believe in second chances, unfortunately. He asked for it to be engraved with the first letter of our names that were joined by an ampersand. Mind you, the owner was the one who was helping us with the sale. He told us that it would take a week to complete the engraving and that I could pick it up after that. Fast forward a week, and I arrived on a weekday as the store was opening and there was no greeter at the front, the employees appeared to be opening the registers for the day and fixing the displays. That was pretty surprising as everyone should be ready to go and helping customers by the time the store opens. I quickly located a girl to help me as NO ONE had bothered to approach me first, and she located my husband's engraved ring. I checked the engraving and asked her why the ampersand wasn't present and instead, our initials were connected by a dash. I also asked if there's a way to fix it. She said "Oh, our jeweler isn't here today and they used a dash instead. Otherwise, the engraving would be squeezed together." What the??? Umm ok, she handed me the ring and I said what about putting it in a box? They didn't actually expect me to stick my husband's ring in my purse all willy nilly, did they? And when you're paying top dollar for a product (since this place isn't cheap by any means), you better darn right put the customer's product in a box. How do they not know this? Absolutely ridiculous! We told ourselves that we will never go back and will not recommend Govindji's to anyone. They really need to invest in better quality products and training their staff on providing exceptional customer service. You're better off going somewhere else where once the "lights" are turned off, you're still getting a great product, but this isn't the place for that! read more

I went in today to Govindji to begin my hunt for a specific Rolex. I am fairly new to the luxury watch world but Yogesh was very accommodating and patient with me and all of my questions. The facility is very well maintained and feels very luxurious. They are also one of the few Authorized Dealers for Rolex in the metroplex. Walked into Govindji's Richardson TX store to check out their jewelry range. Also inquired if they have the blue dial Submariner date watch in Oyster steel and gold combination(current best selling rare find Rolex). Yogesh just showed me the watch in their display(as I didn't bother to check their range knowing its demand and generally, stores wont have it in their display. It is a rare find). I just moved to the area and was looking for a jeweler to service my watches. Went to another store, and it was fixed within minutes. The selection there was amazing which made it hard to pick, but the knowledge staff answered all my questions, without pressure either way and made the process very easy for me!!! I was not sure how to buy and what size, then I met this young lady Babitha the sales person who helped me choose good designs and was extremly helpful. I agree with the other reviewer, this place has horrible customer service. Nothing to do with being indian or otherwise, coz i'm indian. I went on a weekend, and it wasn't crowded. 5 or so families in a 2 storied building is not at all crowded. I would say this place is highly under-staffed. And the girls just walk past you, as if you don't even exist. A warm welcome and basic manners would have been nice. It really doesn't take much effort to say 'i'll be with u in a bit'. We walked out after about 20 mins of no service. And yes, we were serious about buying, as I needed to travel in 2 days for a very special occasion. They just missed a valuable customer. My wife and I came to the store to look for a gift for her. We were helped by a young lady who seemed interested in getting our business. I was ready to purchase a ring, but the size of the stone we wanted was bigger than what they could offer. She told me she would call/email "some people" the following business day to have them send a larger stone. She took all of my information and I asked for her card. I waited patiently for days. I had a very good and pleasant experience at Govindji's. The location is easy, the parking is easy, the building is new, clean, and roomy. There was no pressure and very helpful associates. I worked with Mruhi who was very pleasant, educated, and helpful with the buying process. I had been looking at watches for two months. I looked through the internet, visited jewelry stores locally and on business trips. I knew what I wanted but had been hesitant to pull the trigger. I went to the counter to browse their selection. Rhumi approached me, and was very familiar with the watches. She presented the watch, explained the process, and I pulled the trigger. There was no looking back for me. The jeweler adjusted the watch, Rhumi filled out the paperwork and I was off. On my way out I stopped to look at diamond rings and she opened the case and was very knowledgeable of the different qualities and straight forward on the price.
