Mmmm steak burrito with an extra helping of nachos, and a Pacifico to wash it down.

I love Tierra! I eat there each time I visit Madrid when I am craving a Southern California burrito. Their steak is marinated and grilled excellently. All their vegetables are fresh and their hot sauce is actually pretty spicy (the exception not the rule in Europe). I am a big fan and will always go back. They have Pacifico beer too which is another nice touch. The atmosphere is fun. They play good music and their Margaritas aren't too bad either! Next time I go I'm making it for one of their 2 happy hours.

*Huge* chicken burrito and a beer for about 9.50€.

Solid burritos in Madrid for a good price. While certainly not as memorable as some of the burritos I've had in the States (Mission District in SF, central Texas), Tierra scratched my itch for a proper burrito after over a month and a half in Europe without one. That might color my review a bit, but I'm wagering that there aren't many competitors in Madrid. I had a carnitas burrito my first time and a chicken burrito the next day. I'd give carnitas the edge - some good flavor to it, plenty of moisture. And they HEAPED it on. It made Chipotle's double meat look stingy, and I didn't have to pay any extra for it here. The chicken wasn't anything special, but it was still good. Having queso is always nice, though this one seemed pretty meh. The chipotle sour cream was good though! The hottest sauce had a pretty good kick to it, too, while still maintaining some good flavor. Guac was extra (2€ I think?), so I passed. Could choose between white and brown rice, but only black beans. Sauteed vegetables were also a (tasty!) option. Also a good selection of beers, ranging from 2.50€ to 3.99€ if I remember correctly. All in all, good burritos for about 6.70€. I didn't try anything else (although I saw some massive looking nachos), so I'll leave my review at that.

Like an American Chipotle thought it was a good place for happy hour but only offer a pitcher margarita.

Food's good, margaritas not so much. They have several outlets though in terms of decor, this place is probably the best

After trying all manner of tapas, this was a refreshing change. I'm so glad I've had authentic…read moreMexican food in Mexico and in Detroit's Mexican Town many times so I know how good it can be. Santita stands with the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. To start, it already stands out from every other restaurant I've visited in Madrid because of his beer selection. Instead of ordering Cerveza, and getting the one beer the place has, you have nice choice of Mexican beers, served in a bottle. Negra Modelo, one of my favorites, was among them. Margaritas are small, but cheap (5€), tasty, and potent. Guacamole is creamy and robust, served in a stone mortar, as it's traditionally been made for centuries. The tortilla chips are thick, and not particularly salty, but they're a perfect pairing to start the meal. Please, please order the Los Ignacios...the most perfect Mexican pizza you'll ever have in your life. The description on the menu says "our version of the traditional nachos". For Americans, this evokes tortilla chips with melted cheese, onions, and peppers with low grade meat. Here, you get a thin, crispy crust layered with pico de gallo, cheese, beans, guacamole, meat...yes, similar ingredients in crappy bar nachos, but so, so much better. Tacos are tiny discs piled with meat. The tacos de pollo (chicken) is covered in a rich crema, with small pieces of lean chicken breast. The tacos de chochinita had a massive mound of marinated pork. All had pickled red onions on top. My wife didn't like all the crema, but I did. The pork was excellent. The burrito de pollo was massive and suitable for sharing (though our friend didn't want to share). It has excellent rice with the chicken. We had tried to order a side of rice previously, and we were told it couldn't be ordered separately. Not sure why that is, but this is a great way to get it. Yes, we were stuffed by then. No, we didn't stop ordering. We closed with coconut ice cream, which was pretty standard, but the margarita ice cream? Wow. It's a scoop of ice cream that gets a shot of tequila dumped on it. The sweetness balances the tequila beautifully. Service was also excellent. We ordered a few rounds of drinks (lost track of how many...oops). All the things we ordered set us back 93€. What a great way to experience authentic Mexican cuisine.

I had no idea it was Mexican food when we first walked in and thought what's the big deal since I have Mexican all the time in the U.S. Boy, was I surprised! They did such an impressive job of combining such a variation of flavors and bringing them all together in each bite. The food was something I would expect from a top-level chef. We wanted to eat everything on the menu and really wish that we could have done so. A simple taco was such an incredible taste experience. Whatever they used to create that flavor fest was just delicious. Wish I could go again!!!
