I have been the real estate business for over 20 years as a consumer as well as an investor…read more Recently, we purchased a home from Normandy Homes at the Watters Branch development in McKinney Texas. The home we purchased was apparently a spec home built by Normandy. It had a ton of upgrades and had been on the market for several months. We saw it, liked it a lot and put a bid on it. Soon, we had the contract. After closing on the P&S agreement, we went through several walk-through's with the builder. We, of course hired a home inspection company who did their due diligence. There were maybe 4-5 issues called out by the home inspector. All these were resolved prior to the move-in. We had a walk-through with the construction manager (Wes Camp) and he assured us that any ongoing issues would be addressed. Sure enough, we encountered post move-in problems - like 2 or 3. We contacted Wes and those issues were corrected within a couple days. We had caused a couple scrapes on the engineered wood floor from moving furniture. We reported this to Wes and he had his flooring guy come by and touch-up the the nicks. He also had his flooring guy drop off a box of the flooring material. I can tell you all that read this review, that Normandy Homes is the best builder that I have ever worked with.

Normandy homes has an ok sales staff (depending on who you get) and homes that look good. However,…read morebuying a home is a long term investment and Normandy does not provide a product worth investing in long term. I bought a Normandy home a few months ago and already have a few warranty issues. I expected these, as it's part of owning a house. However, Normandy Homes does not follow up on their warranty requests. When I submitted the warranty request I was told I'd hear from someone in 3 days. I didn't hear from anyone in the two weeks after my warranty request was submitted, so I followed up with their warranty department. The put someone on the phone with me who said they needed to meet between 9am and 5pm. I made the arrangements to meet with them in the middle of my work day, but they never showed up for the appointment. I followed back up and was directed to a Todd Stoker. He missed another 10 am appointment. In the meantime I had a few additional warranty items occur, so I submitted the warranty claim again. I again waited a week before hearing anything back on this request, and the original warranty issues had still not been fixed. I figured maybe someone above Todd could assist, so I contacted Steve Schermerhorn and Rick Davis. Neither of them apologized for the issue, or time it took, but rather just made excuses for their lack of communication and missed appointments. The warranty issues are still not resolved, nor is their response time or concern for customers. The company states on their website how focused on customer service they are, I would be cautious of this statement.
