    Waggy Tail Pet Care

    (62 reviews)

My regular pet sitter was unavailable when I went out of town in September, so I went to Yelp to…read morefind a trusted partner to care for my beasts in my absence. Waggy Tail was very easy to work with - they responded to me right away and had availability during the time I would be away. They have two options; a free video walk through or a $20 in home visit to review details with the caregiver. I opted for in person and enjoyed meeting Michelle in person before entrusting her with my cats' care. Michelle updated the app with photos and a report for each visit. Unfortunately, I wasn't checking email so I didn't see the notifications that she was updating the app. However, when I got home, I did see photos of my cats looking good with a little report on what happened during the visit. Waggy Tails is not cheap! The stated price is for 2 animals; there is an additional charge for each extra pet. The price is also double if you want 2x per day visits. However, the care was comprehensive - Michelle had no problem pilling my one cat that needs a daily medication and also handled all of the different food requests and feline pickiness with no problem. I would definitely use Waggy Tail again! They definitely remove a piece of travel stress by taking excellent care of your pets!

I came back from dinner and my dog had been left alone on a couch that she could not get off of. My dog was trembling and afraid. I have hired sitters all over the world for almost twenty years (for this dog and my last dog) and have NEVER experienced this. A sitter leaving before you get home????? Completely unacceptable NEVER trust your beloved pet to this horrible service!!! ZERO stars. I am furious!

I expect a pet sitter to be 100% trustworthy and honest. Their job is to give you peace of mind…read morethat your furry child and your personal property are in good hands. I have not been impressed with Furry Spot and I agree with the reviewer about prepaying - you might not get the best care every time but you'll pay for it anyway. (FYI, Dania is the owner and she hires contractors for walks/feedings.) I went out of town for a week in June and Furry Spot was MIA for some of the days (they promise a photo of your cat every day, but I didn't always get one and couldn't reach anyone). I had a bad feeling before I left because the girl was supposed to come by for instructions but flaked. When I came home I found FLIES in my cat's food bowl and the rest of a can of food on the counter wrapped in a paper towel (Read: "Refrigerate after opening"). With that many flies, I seriously doubt she had come by for at least 2 days. The food bowl was FILTHY -- obviously not washed between feedings. Took a couple of soaks and scrubs to get it clean. Even more troubling (though not surprising, based on what I just told you) was that my cat vomited 3-4 times the day I got home and he was really agitated. I had to leave town again in a few days - but had prepaid and it was too late to find someone else - so I was freaking out. I was also REALLY upset that Dania had not tried to call me despite my text messages asking her WTF went wrong (not in those words, of course). I finally got her on the phone and she was too stressed out about her employee and other customers to pay much attention to my concerns. No refund. She believed that the employee had come every scheduled day...because "she told me she did." On a positive note, this time Dania did the visits instead of giving them to a contractor. My cat seemed healthy when I returned and no flies! Another thing related to trustworthiness: Earlier in the year we agreed to trade services - pet sitting for tutoring. I discounted my fee, overlooked no-shows, accommodated requests to "pay next time." She was really happy with my services, but when it came to paying, told me for months that business was "really slow." Never paid me, never refunded what I overpaid her and didn't use. Never returned my keys (had to change the locks). Hope this is useful to some of you.

Last month my boyfriend and I had to head out of town for a wedding. More than any other detail,…read moreour biggest dilemma was trying to find someone to watch our kitten (well, she's technically a cat but she's my little fury baby). We adopted our cat (Raja) from the pound when she was only 7 weeks old; she is very used to my boyfriend and I but hasn't been exposed to many other people. We both work from home so naturally, Raja has become somewhat needy and requires a good amount of attention. I spent about a month looking for places near me; animal hospitals, cat boarding places, friends but none of the places gave me any comfort; after all I LOVE my Raja About one week before our trip we made the decision to leave her home by herself. We were going to buy her some extra food and litter boxes and pray for the best. At first this idea seemed to work but I changed my mind and I looked hard to find someone to watch her; that's when I started looking for someone to come to our apartment to check on her instead of leaving her somewhere. I came across Furry Spot on Yelp and saw some decent reviews, however even though most of the reviews were amazing there were some that, well, weren't. We took our chances and called Dania, the owner at Furry Spot and made an appointment to meet with her. The day of our meeting, we chatted with Dania for about 45 minutes; we spoke about how Furry Spot works, about Raja and about the cost. I felt so comfortable after meeting Dania I knew I was going to hire her to watch Raja while we were away. Fast forward - we go on our trip after dropping off our apartment keys to Dania the night before and even though I trusted she was in good hands, I still wanted to check up on my kitty. I called Dania the next morning knowing that she was going to be at our apartment bright and early to make sure that Raja made it through the night OK without my boyfriend and myself. Dania assured me everything was wonderful and that Raja surprisingly took a liking to Dania (she doesn't like many people). Dania even sent me a photo of Raja playing which made me very happy. We were only gone for 5 days and Dania and I text each other every day. When we got home from our trip, Raja seemed like her normal self. Very happy to see us but not distraught at all! She was clean, smelled good, her litter box was clean, she had plenty of fresh food and water, she looked like she ate and there were no injuries to her (Thank goodness). We don't go out of town often but when we do I'm definitely using Furry Spot again! In fact, I'd recommend them to anyone in the area. I'm really glad that I gave Furry Spot a chance because there were some bad reviews; one had nothing to do with the service but was angry about Dania wanting payment upfront so I didn't care too much about that. One was really negative and I'm shocked that anyone could have such a bad experience like that considering mine was so positive! I don't normally write reviews (especially ones this long) but I'm such an animal lover that I felt it was necessary to help out fellow pet owners who plan to travel or need any pet service for that matter.

Even dogs cannot speak, we understand their language :) On the top of this... prices are way below anyone around, and is really really a phenomenal care. Highly recommended!

When I first moved to Miami, I was desperate to find a good pet sitter that not only could accommodate both of my active, and sometimes rambunctious, Australian Cattle Dogs, but someone who could also work with my sometimes wacky schedule. And so I was absolutely thrilled when we found Matt. While in Matt's care, your pups will be treated to a wide variety of exercise and socialization options. He has always provided truly excellent care for both Mattie and Brisbane, regardless of my time away from home. Three years and counting, I would wholeheartedly recommend Matt Brown to anyone searching for the best pet-sitting option in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale.
