This tiny joint on the water kicks ass! We were watching a guy filet a big bunch of Red Grouper & red snapper on the pier that was caught that day. When he was done bagging it he walked it right into the restaurant...now you can't get any fresher than that! Frying grouper is almost criminal in my book but having said that the grouper bites were fantastic and my blackened was as well. Fish tacos, fantastic. What an excellent place. Friendly, good value, excellent scenery on the bay. The only drawback is the parking. This place gets filled up in a hurry. Loved it. Mike was an excellent server. He was Super friendly and attentive. We had grilled grouper, fish dip, grouper bites, peel and eat shrimp and amazing key lime pie. Kids had burger and fries and lots of ketchup. Everything was simple but high quality and well prepared. Chocolate cake was meh but it was probably because I had a bite of the pie first. The only detractor was the crazy wind, and they can't do anything about that. We will be back. read more

June 25, after several hours at Coquina beach my wife and I were ready to eat. We chose to visit the Tide Tables and were not disappointed. Local atmosphere with awesome food. We had their peel and eat shrimp and a cup of gumbo to start. I had the fish tacos (taco tuesday) with two sides and my wife had the Cesar salad with fresh grilled grouper. Been coming down to Cortez for years and never ever knew about Tide Tables until uncle Jim hipped us up- glad he did. The sunshine is abundant, the food is terrific, Louie the Bartender was awesome and I am sure I had the BEST FISH TACOS EVER! They hide a smudge of Sesame Ginger dressing in the slaw that makes it wonderful. Don't give up on Star Fish but do give Tide Tables a try. You won't be disappointed! read more

Stopped by for a late lunch on a Saturday based on Yelp reviews. Almost didn't go in. The place is really a dive, but some of them have the best food. And we were REALLY hungry. There's a small bar outside but it looks like rain so we sit at the inside bar. We both order the large grouper basket blackened with coleslaw and French fries ($22.95 each). The grouper is excellent, fresh off the dock. The fries and coleslaw portions are both small. Service was excellent. Bottled beers $2.75. All around very good but for the price I expected more quantity. I would still recommend the place, just know what you're getting. Or not getting. read more

I just moved to Bradenton from Seattle and have found many great restaurants - which is amazing in this small town! Tide Tables is one of my top favorites now. The Grouper salad spread app is amazing, the grouper dinner was the best I have had and our waitress Staci was a true delight. Thank you Staci and Tide Tables! I read several reviews about Tide Tables. However, a recommendation from a local, flipped me enough to take my family there to eat. I read all the reviews. Many good reviews and many bad, so I needed to make my own review. We were greeted quickly, and seated outside near the view of the bay. Our waitress welcomed us and took our drink order. I was taken back by the small cups that contained our drinks. What made the difference, was the unprompted continuance of free refills. Awesome. Dinner came, quickly too! It shocked me! It took longer to drive to Tide Tables than to cook our meal and bring it to the table. My wife and I had the grouper sandwich. Hers was fried and mine was blackened. Both tasted fresh and were amazing. The best grouper sandwich on the island. My oldest daughter had the grouper fillets. She claimed they were "addicting!" I had a bite. Again, amazing. My twin daughters both had the fried shrimp. I admit there could have been more, however, their plates were empty, and their bellies full. Had a little bite. The shrimp tasted fresh. Each meal came with cole slaw and seasoned fries. I get why the slaw is a little portion. Most people don't eat it. I did. I enjoyed it. My kids were not fans. The seasoned fries were very good and complimented the meal. In summary, greeted quickly and fast service. The food was amazingly delicious and fresh. Expect a $100 bill + tip for a family of five. Not sure I sent to the same place as the 5 star reviews. Just typical and that might be generous. When I went, it was a nice week day around lunch time. Asked about the beers, got a disappointing list of what is on tap, and asked about bottles, and was shown the menu. But turns out they have other "good" beers just written on a calk board, can't help but wonder why they did point those out when I obviously turned my nose up to the "Bud, bud light" litany of usual. That is not a huge issue, just disappointing and a lack of training. What is it with places in this town where non of the staff knows what they have? Or only the "easy" parts? Went with the Mahi sandwich blackened for food. Looked promising when it came out, but one bite and it was like easting a salt lick. Either they need to rework their blackening blend, or stop being it form a distributor or remember you don't need to add more salt when you have it already in the blackening seasoning. A bit of tarter sauce covered it up. At the last the fish was still moist, but a salt lick fish sandwich is lucky to get 3 stars never mind the raves other people are having. You are only as good as the last meal, so the saying goes. Maybe it was an off day, or the B team was working but not in a hurry to go back. But watching the bridge open and close and having sting rays jumping near by was kind of nice and makes eating at places like this nicer. Although watching the national food chain delivery guy drop off three loads of things makes me wonder about the "local"-ness of the food. read more

Reading other reviews and talking to our local friends who recommended it, it looks like this place has gone really downhill. We ordered takeout and they asked for thorough info about our car to bring it out to us. The old guy seating people out front told us to move our car twice before realizing we were waiting on takeout and he left us alone. He was nice, just kind of clueless about what the restaurant's services were, I guess. We sat in our car for 25 min after the food was supposed to be ready before finally going inside to ask where our food was. It was already cold on the counter and Griffin, the person who fielded our call a half an hour before just passed us a check before going back to talking at customers at the bar. The meal was overpriced compared to the other fresh seafood we ate on this trip. Four shrimp on a large piece of bread with lettuce (rémoulade was good but the rest of the sandwich didn't make up for it). The fish tacos, what we came for, were also disappointing. Maybe they're better when you haven't been sitting for 30 minutes but they were soggy and bland and soaking with liquid. The fish was fresh, but otherwise it was just a little weak seasoning and some shredded lettuce. I wanted to like this place so bad, the location and fish sourcing looks great, but from the wait to the service to the food, it was disappointment at every turn. Only two stars because the atmosphere seemed fine and the beer seemed to be wide in variety. Maybe everybody was having an off night but I have read a lot of other reviews with similar or identical experiences. Wouldn't go again. read more

The fish tacos were tasty with the sauce having a great snap to them. Three tacos to the order. The burgers are cooked to order so my medium rare was just that. The menu is heavily seafood, and of course it is, you're right on the water. Great IPA beer selection and four different hard ciders with Stella's coming on to tap soon.
