I went to Xpress Dry Cleaners and Alterations to have several garments (1 pair of shorts, 2 pairs…read moreof capri pants) altered. One of the seamstresses, initially altered the three garments and did a good job on the shorts and 1 capri pant, but the other capri was a little too tight. I went back in to have the capri pant redone and spoke to another seamstress. I showed her what needed to be redone and how I wanted them. She was pushy and dismissive. I had to go back twice to pick them up because she didn't have them ready even after promising they would be done in a day. I tried them on and they were even tighter than the first time I had them done. So, I asked for my money back from the alteration, which I did receive, but when I got the pants home, I realized that she had put a hole in the side seam when she was removing the seam to work on them because she used a razor blade instead of a seam ripper which is the proper tool. So, she had to make the side seam bigger than was measured in order to hide the hole. Now I have a pair of capri pants that I can't wear unless I can get another seamstress to correctly alter the garment and somehow repair the hole. DO NOT go to this shop for alterations, there are plenty of other places who will do a better job. Their work is sloppy and while some of the people in the shop are nice, the seamstress I dealt with isn't. I had to give it one star. If I could have given a zero, I would have.

I clearly communicated that I wanted to preserve the integrity of the original design and simply have it fitted slightly to my frame. Not only did she ignore my request, but she also removed key design elements (like the buttons) without asking -- essentially reworking the entire dress into something unrecognizable and poorly finished. The second dress? She didn't touch it at all. Literally zero work was done, yet she still charged me $90 in total. She also failed to mention when I dropped the items off that she only accepts cash. When I showed up with a card, she told me she could take Venmo -- but insisted I write "thank you" in the memo line instead of noting it was for alterations. That alone made it clear this is an under-the-table operation. When I came to pick up the dresses, she didn't offer a fitting -- which is extremely unusual for any reputable alteration service. It felt like she was rushing me out the door, and once I got home, I realized why: the second dress hadn't been altered at all, and the first was completely botched. This experience was beyond disappointing -- it felt like a scam. I went here based on glowing reviews and was completely taken advantage of. Please be cautious. I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially if you're bringing in a sentimental or special item.
