A high energy dog and medium to low energy owner is not a good match. 4) Basic obedience training is a very, very good thing. Even late night after our photographer left he captured some INCREDIBLE candid photos without us even knowing because he knew that there wouldn't be professional ones taken!! He went above and beyond. We actually found out about Apogee because we went to a family friend's wedding and they were the DJs which is how we found out about them. Allen provided some of the best customer service I have ever received in answering some questions and providing support regarding a unique situation with our wedding, and I knew it go off without a hitch. I had the pleasure of speaking with our DJ, Greyson, the day before our wedding and I could already tell that he was an awesome fit for our group. Greyson kept us on schedule, worked fabulously with our guests, took care of some last minute changes AND taught us a few moves on the dance floor. The best part? He didn't lose any steam when 2/3 of our guests left well before the end of the reception. He kept the party going up until the minute we closed things down. They claimed I was "unwilling or unable" to perform my job duties--an outright lie. He could legally fire me for no reason because I didn't yet have my 1040 hours in this position due to job duty description discrepancies, although it was my fourth season dispatching with ODF. I was fired 1 week before the end of my season at 8 months pregnant, having never missed a single day of work due to the pregnancy. He also knew my husband was in a remote area at the time and unreachable by phone for several days. The timing was chosen to exact maximal emotional distress. I was excellent at my job and not only is it heartbreaking for me to lose my career, but also a disservice to my community desperately in need of trained, caring, competent staff. He and the newly appointed ODF assistant center manager wanted me to comply with orders completely against actual ODF and dispatch policy "just because I said so"--no rhyme or reason to it, blatantly against written policy and putting resources at risk in doing so. They are trying to run the agency like the military and heaven help you if you try to stick up for what is right--even what's written in the first page of the employee oath handbook--they'll just get rid of you. Never had a bad experience in my 17 year work history until this. I had excellent employee evaluations for previous three seasons from different supervisors. It's scary to speak out but I'm tired of being silenced. I would not recommend ANYONE work under him or the ODF assistant center manager, especially if you're a woman.

Sure, there were some difficult years, the pay sucks, administration can come down hard at times; keep in mind that MWVCAA is a non-profit agency funded and controlled by the higher bodies of the government for operating funds. That said, during my time with agency, it went through 2 MAJOR operating structures - we lost a lot of employees, administration changes, etc. These changes were not based on employee satisfaction, but for the families in which the Agency serves. Administration ALWAYS had empathy as well as transparency to those who chose to keep an open mind for forward thinking within the agency. At the time that I left, everything was coming together after restructuring, expanding, administration changes. If you are only interested in your bank account, non-profits are not for you. If you have a genuine passion to serve families who can benefit through support and guidance toward a more independent and productive life, MWVCAA is a wonderful employer that offers a vast catalogue of benefits designed for the wellness of its employees. Today was my second visit to this location and I was happy to see they've added three designated party areas with decorated walls, which is a welcome addition. The play area is pretty straight-forward, offering slides and tunnels and ball pits. The kids all seem to be having fun. The kitchen offers simple pizzas, sodas and alcoholic beverages. There was a tater tot pizza on the menu as well, which was covered with mozzerella and bacon... and was a crowd favorite. Awesome Indoor Playground appears to be on the right track. The wall murals in the designated party areas are a great addition, but they need to add some more color throughout the space. Bring in some more visual appeal, and dust the heating vents and the tops of the play structures. Maybe these aren't details kids will care about, but for bored adults sitting for 2-3 hours... we see these things!
