Holy moly - all the kind comments I made about Top Dog I need to take back. Person in charge got royally ticked off because 10 of us stopped in one mid afternoon - no one else in the place. The next time I called ahead (mind you this is a sport bar grill) I wanted to give them a heads up that 6 or 7 of us were coming in for lunch. I was asked " DO YOU HAVE A RESERVATION " in a sport bar???? And then the bartender/server/grumpy person told me -" I don't want to serve your 7 people today!" My husband and I went for lunch. I would say we had a pleasant experience. The interior is really cool, and much bigger than I expected walking in. I was happy with the drink prices, very reasonable. We loved the appetizer, we got the nacho beef fries. The beef doesn't have seasoning besides I think salt & pepper. I liked that a lot, I'm not a fan or taco seasoning. Nice & hot, simple & delicious. Bonus that they were crinkle cut fries. We both ordered yakisoba (I got the fresh beef & broccoli.) I did not care for it at all. Which is crazy, because Top Dog is reputed to have some of the best yakisoba in town. So I'm hoping it was just me, or that it was an off day for them. But I was really bummed. I like salty food, but this was SALTY. The broccoli tasted good & fresh, but that was the only redeeming quality to my taste buds. Yeah, this stuff is Top Quality! This Asian food, probably best described as "American Chinese", is really, really good. Everything looked fresh and prepared in house. My bowl of Lo Mein was perfect in every way and was fantastic. A lunch for two, no drinks ordered, was about $15. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!$15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My father & I stopped in for lunch on the 24th of December and we certainly were not disappointed ! Our server, Sara, was a very pleasant & efficient young woman , my chopped , grilled chicken salad was delicious - and Sara brought me a side of the honey mustard dressing and a side of a delicious house made thousand spicy dressing My father enjoyed a lovely fish sandwich that was prepared in a very light tempura-like batter. Went with a party of four today for dinner. Two of the party are in wheelchairs. We have gone to Top Dog quite a bit for a few years as our favorite football teams, the Raiders and the Bears, don't always have their games televised locally so we go to watch a game, have a drink, eat and enjoy. When we went in today, the place (at 5:30 pm) was totally empty, except for two customers. We went to the back room where they have regular height tables, however, the back room was reserved for a party. The rest of Top Dog is booths or those bar height tables where you sit in the tall chairs. Since the back room was taken, we talked to whoever was on staff. We pointed out the lack of regular height tables. He said we couldn't use a booth because it would "block the aisle". He also said he didn't know what he could do. Well, I will tell you what you COULD have done. Since the place was EMPTY you could have moved one of the tall tables and brought in a regular height table from the back. Why do I expect this of you? Because it was done before by someone else who worked there who CARED about their customers. Thanks for nothing Top Dog. You are not the only sports bar in town. We will go where people have knowledge of a thing called customer service and don't turn people in wheelchairs away because you are too lazy to accommodate them. read more

My friends and I were pretty excited to hang at Top Dog last Saturday night after dinner. There were six of us total, and it was about 8:15. The door posted a closing time of 10:30pm. Anyway, we walked in ready to drink, snack and play some games when the young lady at the bar told us she was closing in 10 minutes. When we questioned her regarding the posted closing time she informed us that she always closes early when they aren't busy. Huh? This is no way to run a business. The only reason why I gave 3 stars is because the food was yummy and the fact that we got to watch sports on the many TV's. The service was, for a lack of better words, absolutely horrible! There was only one waiter, there were some tables full but not overwhelmingly busy. We sat down and it took at least 10 minutes to have the waiter come see what we wanted to drink. Took out order, never offered us menus for food. First drink down, we sat for another 10 minutes with empty glasses and no waiter in sight. We spotted a menu on another table and grabbed it. Waiter finally showed up, asked if we wanted more drinks and said I will be right back with them and then to take our food order. After an hour, I kid you not!, no food, dry drinks. He came to check on us. He left came back and asked "what did you order?" Apparently our food was given out to a to go order?!! Pretty sure it was because of his poor waiting skills. Finally we got our food, and it was delicious. When it was time for us to get our check, again...not one person was in site. We could have totally left without paying. He came in and said sorry...I was on break. Then when doing our checks, he had no clue what any of us had. Good thing we are honest people because we could have left, or lied about it.
