Vegan Halloween Wedding - Absolutely hit it out of the park!…read more My brother enlisted me to help him find a vegan caterer for his Wedding on Halloween and I'm so grateful I found Arthur's. I had reached out to a couple of caterers in the area prior with the only requirement being the food had to be 100% vegan (very important to my brother and his bride). Every other caterer I spoke to pushed back on this and tried to get us to consider at least vegetarian (I think it might have been because they were intimidated by planning that type of menu?) but not Arthur's. Patty was our coordinator and she was a delight to work with - responsive, accommodating and put our minds at ease. The food itself was phenomenal! During cocktail hour there was a harvest table with all kinds of dips, roasted veggies, and a vegan sausage. They also had passed h'orderves which included a falafel, polenta cake and spring rolls which were to die for! The staff kept the plates coming so guests were never without something to munch on while enjoying drinks. At dinner there were 3 stations: 1.) americana/BBQ (buffalo cauliflower, jackfruit sliders, mac and "cheese", collard greens) 2.) Wok/Stir fry (tofu, rice, veggies, spicy sauce) 3.) Italian (eggplant rolitini, creamy veggie pasta, rolls) And then there was a late night snack! mini black bean burgers to satisfy the late night dancing and drinking craving. Needless to say no one went hungry and while this was a fully vegan menu there were only about 7 actual vegans at the whole wedding, yet the entire guest list raved about the menu. I can't recommend Arthur's highly enough. Thank you to Patty and her staff for an amazing night and for making my brother's wedding so delicious and so special!

There was just the perfect a hint of lavender so as not to overpower the dish. And so much bacon on top. These delivered. My favorite bite of the day. I also ordered the citrus beet salad. It was huge! They don't skimp on ingredients, and I loved that. There were so many clementines, beets, and blueberries that I was able to get something in each bite. The basil vinaigrette it was served with was so unique and delicious. My food came out quickly, fresh, and hot. The staff were so friendly. It's a family restaurant, and it feels that way. Chef Kelvin is an absolute class act. The entire experience with him from first contact to event…read moreand after was amazing. My family traveled from all over and met up in a VRBO in Orlando (9 adults, 5 kids) to celebrate my dad's 75th birthday. He wanted to have a party and since I love food, I volunteered to take care of the catering. I had been working with a company on plans for the event 6 weeks prior, but 3 weeks before the event, they suddenly realized that it was a Sunday and they don't cater on Sundays. Talk about frustrating! Add to that, April is wedding season in Orlando and it was Easter Sunday. Well, Chef Kelvin to the rescue. His communication was absolutely ideal. From first filling out the contact form on his website, I had fun picking out the menu items and he worked with me on ensuring there was a good variety and one of our allergies was kept in mind. He reached out the day before to confirm everything, and then was extremely communicative the day of. His staff was so pleasant, and they were all respectful and helpful the day of the event. Absolute ideal communication throughout the process for me. And THE FOOD! OMG! It was so good. We definitely had too much, which was my plan (I always prefer to have too much, running out is no fun at a party). We kept some of the leftovers at the rental and our local family (4 adults, 1 kid) took some home too and enjoyed them. Chef came prepared with takeaway boxes and was able to package it all up for us. Here's what we ordered with a bit of commentary :) - Lamb Chops (I adore lamb and this was so well executed. He confirmed desired temp and nailed it) - BBQ Pulled Pork (this was a party favorite!) - Chicken Wings (loved the crispy skin and sauce, so good) - Pop Corn Chicken Bites (super popular with everyone! And reheated really well) - Shrimp Skewers (more popular than I had expected!) - Garlic Mash (my husband keeps raving about this. It was fantastic) - Garlic Bread (bread is always good!) - Baked Mac & Cheese (fantastic fresh and amazing reheated in the oven) - Smoked Cream Corn (my favorite, this was SO GOOD) - Garden Salad (in retrospect not needed, but I wanted to provide something green haha!) Honestly do not hesitate - reach out to Chef Kelvin for your event. You will not be disappointed. I'm so glad my original plan didn't work out.

Storytime: a husband wanted to open a BBQ joint. His wife wanted to open a gourmet donut shop…read more So, they did what all great visionaries do: they combined the two and created Smoke & Donuts here in Orlando. Friends, this place is proof that compromise can be beautiful. Sweet meets spicy meets (meats?) savory. Every bite felt like someone dared a pitmaster and a pastry chef to create the ultimate brunch, and somehow they pulled it off. The only drawback? Ventilation. It's stuffy inside. Plan on smelling like a smoky glazed donut the rest of the day. PS. If anyone wants to bring this concept to KC, I'd like to be considered an early investor. Or at the very least, a highly enthusiastic taste tester. Holy hell. Brunch of champions.

Parking wasn't an issue either. As I walked in, I was greeted by who seemed to be the owner and a young woman. Very nice, lovely staff. Everyone was so sweet. My only issue was that they didn't have a good portion of their menu ready and it's mostly because they didn't have the gravy for their dishes. The ones we wanted came with gravy and the staff let us know they were behind on making it. So we pivoted and tried their prime rib smash burger but unfortunately that felt a little disappointing. For the price that it was, you'd think that you'd get a decently portioned burger or some sides with it but it was super tiny. And the bun felt like grocery bread, the type you can get for a home bbq. It was still delicious but rather disappointing at the same time. We ended up having to order a third dish just to feel satisfied and at least it was very good. The bowls are worth it, maybe not the burger but the bowls for sure! I also snagged up a donut and truthfully that is one of the best donuts I've ever had. Another downside to this spot and why I didn't give it a 4 star is because how slow the service was. We watched a whole family get up and leave because it was taking so long, I actually felt bad for the staff and owner. The place has great tasting food, just needs a little shaping up. Maybe someone who can run the kitchen as a head chef. Overall, I still recommend the place but just know that you'll be waiting a while and some things may not be available.
