False advertising, TERRIBLE service, and terrible sandwiches!!!!! I have a ThundeCkoud Subs next to my workplace, which I love, but this can't be compared. This is reallllllllllllllly bad ..... Yesterday, 11/4, my daughter and I for the first time visited this ThunderCloud Subs since my daughter had a coupon from her school newspaper, buy one get one free. It was out of our way, but thought we give it a try to see if this is a place we want to continue with When we ordered, we told them we had a coupon. Unfortunately the person taking our order was either the owner or the manager, who was not happy we had a coupon. The whole order was painful, since it was clear the owner/manager didn't want to take our order. Summary, don't advertise if you don't mean it, don't expect new customers if you're having an attitude taking the order, don't lie with a false advertisement just to get us there, and don't expect new customers if you treat us like s .../"garbage" when taking our order. Lastly I tipped over 30% but it didn't change the behavior of the owner/manager ... I'll never return when there are so many other choices. read more

I've always love Thundercloud for their fast service, fresh bread fresh toppings and quality meats and cheeses, but this location just doesn't cut it. I can't pin down exactly why, but it's lacking the character that other locations have. Maybe it's the slow order line and the mosh of onlookers waiting for their pick-up orders. Maybe it's the dull decor that doesn't match the institution that is local fresh, fast and healthy?! Maybe it's just that I'm dreaming of other subs shops I've eaten at that beat Thundercloud in terms of value and taste. This location is still worth a visit, especially since they've added gluten-free bread to the menu, but skip the lunch rush and the dinner rush. Perk!: they have a drive thru. read more

We generally eat here and love the food and great service. Today was a little different. 10 minutes ago, I parked right in front of the door to see at least two signs saying "masks required to enter" and other signs saying ToGo service only. I go to the counter, one customer ahead of me. He turns after receiving his order, NO mask and wearing an obnoxiously loud Trump2020 cap - go figure. While I order, I notice he's setting up at a table. I ask the kids serving me what's happening with the other customer since signs say masks required and no dine-in, only to be told "the manager hasn't had time to deal with that but we have to wear masks behind the counter." Seriously??? This is food service, signs indicate masks required, no dine-in. I'm so shocked, almost furious, I'm shaking. We will NOT be returning to this store until signage is enforced. Very disappointing. The guy had his 4-5yo kid with him, I hope the kid learns to read better than his dad. :( read more

Had the veggie delight sandwich and it was pretty delicious with some added pickled jalapeños and thunder sauce. Just wished the sandwich itself was a tiny bit bigger. Overall, just a dead simple and quick sandwich shop with a genuinely friendly staff. Will definitely come back for another sub. read more

Really enjoy this place. Always fresh and makes wonderful sandwiches. Tuna is my favorite followed by their BLT. They do have really good salads and I have only had one of their soups and it was good. I bring all my friends from out of town to thundercloud. Everyone loves it. I've never ordered from the Pflugerville location before so I'm glad to report a seamless experience. I ordered online and everything was properly executed and ready for pick up. All sandwich ingredients were fresh and flavorful. My only complaint is that items are a bit pricey for the amount given. The staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean. They are probably suffering a bit from the road construction out front, but don't let that dissuade you from frequenting their business. read more

I just went inside an empty thunderclouds to pick up my online order because the drive thru was busy. I arrive inside, and stand there for about 5 min before I'm helped. which is fine. the girl tells me my order will be ready soon, that they were working on it. a little bit later another worker asks the girl to stick the meatballs in the microwave. she does and walks away. they then forget about me, and the meatballs. after ALL the cars in the drive thru are gone they realize I'm still standing there and ask each other if I'm the online order. once they realize I had been there for awhile they seemed to scramble. But, not the case. 2 of the 3 workers disappear to the back, leaving the 1 worker to make my order while another lady waited to get her order taken. All in all it took 30 min to get my order of 2 meatball sandwiches. Got home.. meatballs were cold, the sauce leaked out of the foil, ripped the bag and got all over my leather seats. to say I'm unhappy would be an understatement. read more

I love thundercloud subs. But this location is far from one of their best. The culture here seems very poor. The employees seem unhappy, don't smile or chat with you like at other locations, the manager seems super unfriendly, and they are ungodly slow. The food is good, the store is nice, but the people make me not want to come back. read more

I ALWAYS have the best customer service at this location. Sometimes they are not the quickest and it can feel like it takes a while to get your food. But I found this is true of most thundercloud locations - so I like to call ahead. Every employee is always engaging and friendly. I really appreciate having such a friendly local place. read more

Just got back to the office after ordering a NORMAL Texas Tuna just how it comes. Opened the bag and it's soaking wet and soggy to the point that the bread is falling apart. I've been going to eat a Thundercloud Subs for about 30 years. Loved every visit until this one. But last night this location was out of ham, out of all breads, except white, out of straws for drinks, and mostly out of a good attitude. Definitely a disappointing and dissatisfying experience for the two of us. Update: it is refreshing to see management that is responsive to issues with quality. I have been going to Thunderclouds Subs sine the early 1990's. One of my favorites subs is the Club Sub. This sub comes with Turkey, Bacon, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, and the thunder sauce. Man this sandwich rocks in style, looks, and taste. I always make a trip there for the Club Sub on whole wheat and heat it up for 45 Sec to melt that cheese and it all heaven thereafter. I feel bad actually giving one star, but I was not impressed at all. I paid $10 for a gourmet lunchable. I was one of two customers in there and it took them ten minutes to acknowledge me. The quality of the food was even worse than Subway...and I hate subway. Then to top it all off the employees were fairly rude. Judging from the other reviews of this one I guess they are just a bad apple in the bunch. You hear their jingle on the Radio every 30 minutes so I figured this place would rock. So after my last experience I emailed corporate, not for anything free but just to let them know about the drive thru issues. They replied promptly and sent me 2 $5 GC's, which I used on Saturday. I went through the drive thru, and guess what?!?!?!?!?!? They screwed up my sandwich again. At this point I feel like I'm in an episode of Seinfeld. I ordered large cali club on wheat add pickles, Olives, mustard and mayo, salt n pepper. I got cali club on white, no pickles, no mustard or mayo. Awesome!!! Nice attempt! I don't know if the employees aren't smoking enough pot or smoking too much, but they really cant get their stuff together here. It's comical at this point. I emailed corporate again to request they get rid of the drive thru all together, the kids working at this location obviously can't handle it. I went to this location today and ordered a veggie delight sandwich. At first I wasn't watching as the employee was making my sandwich, but once I made an effort to look, I realized that he wasn't wearing gloves. Having worked in the food industry I know that gloves have to be worn when working with all ready to eat products in Travis county. I asked him if he was going to put on gloves, and he said he didn't have to, but would if I would like him to. If I knew how to report this to the health department I would. I'm sure the guy believes washing your hands alone is sufficient for handling food, but if you're also going to be my cashier, I need gloves to be worn. This is how cross contamination happens and people get sick I won't be eating here again. read more

I admit we went through the drive through, terrible decision, but I ordered an Austin Club with more veggies on top, but at the end the only thing I received was a crappy looking sandwich with turkey, not chicken, sprouts, and lettuce. No mayo or thunder sauce like I asked. It was the worst sandwich I ever tasted. I made the mistake of visiting the Georgetown location, but same thing, except THIS was in PERSON. How incompetent are their workers that they forget your toppings when you're TELLING them bit by bit EXACTLY what you want on your sandwich? It can't be that hard to make it correctly! They weren't even busy! I will go to Jimmy John's next time because they are much friendlier, quicker, and taste much much better. Avoid this place like the plague. read more

I have to say that they have really gone downhill as of late. Their lettuce is not fresh (brown and wilty) and they put too much sauce or vinegar on their sandwiches so the bread gets super soggy. I really like Thundercloud, but this one consistently gets my order wrong. They almost always forget avocado or bacon, but they always charge me for it. This is probably the worst location of TC. I frequent the Lavaca location for lunch and have never had a problem with that team. However, this Pflugerville location has messed up our order every single time. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Also, their soup is like water. We love Thundercloud, but this was not their finest moment. I'm very patient when someone is being trained but we walked in and ordered salads and it was a great training opportunity for the young man who had just started. So we order a salad and the staff/manager/trainer didn't even help the new guy. Just told him what goes in it and left him there. He didn't even know how to dice the tomato or that it needed a boiled egg. Ugh, poor kid, I hope he gets better training. But I don't think we'll stop at this one again. The guy heated my bread up in the microwave. Which told me it was not fresh and sure enough by the time I ate it the bread was hard. On top of that the person who made my sandwiches forgot some of our toppings. If the counter tops weren't so tall I would have noticed that he missed some of our toppings. Mind you the last time I can in here the place was a filthy wreck. The people are nice but they need more training. Today I went there, waited in the drive thru line for almost fifteen minutes (by the way, there's only one sign by the speakers so I guess you can't decide what you want until you get up there) and when it's finally my turn, the guy over the speaker tells me they weren't accepting credit/debit that day.
