I just love Thundercloud Subs. The vibe is always so good. Nobody is mean or harsh. Just great, fresh food and super cool people.

Never ever had a problem here. They listen to your order and always get it right, staff is friendly, respectful, and funny. Overall, a very good vibe to be around and its always clean. I've been here a couple of times, and the ingredients were fresh, and my order was prepared correctly. The wait wasn't too long. The employees were polite and professional. I had to go orders, so I didn't eat there, but the place looked clean. Definitely enjoy some thundercloud subs! Staff is nice every time we visit. Ordering is a breeze in store or online. We usually order online and it is a quick and easy pick up. Food is quality every time. Sometimes they mix up the bread that we order, but it's still good! Overall the chocolate chip cookies are my super fave! Carrot cake is good. I actually like Thundercloud's product. For the most part its a sammich that you could make your own. Your on a low carb diet? Forget the bread. Hate onions? Sweet peppers a must! Thank the owner that he can employ every stoner in a five county radius. Thing is I'm peeved by the claim that they offer free wifi; but have not one power outlet available for charging. My laptop is in good condition except the battery which lasts about 30 seconds without the cord. So, I can throw a little blame my way as well. So, today while writing this review I'm over at Mazama Coffee giving them my business (outlets EVERYWHERE)! I realize this review isn't gonna make a difference on whats already built; please consider some extra plugs in your next sub sandwich outlet. Your customers will thank me for it. read more

Worst service and sandwiches ever. I ordered 3 sandwiches it took over 45 min to get order. I sat outside waiting for at least 30 min. and only 2 people got orders before me. 2 od thw 3 sandwiches were wrong, I ordered a Milkshake and it took 2 people to figure out they couldn't find or didn't have Ice-cream. I could understand the slowness if it was busy but it wasn't at all. Manager should look for more efficient employees. read more

Stopped in for a very late lunch today, after no breakfast or lunch, very glad we did....Had not been to Thundercloud Subs in a few years and we were greeted by 2 courteous and friendly guys.....helpful with our menu selections since we had not been by in a while. The sandwiches are/were VERY fresh, great bread and just the overall experience was pleasant. Attempted to call in an order since it's pick up only right now. The guy who answered asked me to hold as soon as he answered which I understand but then after waiting approximately 10 minutes I was hung up on. I called back and got the same can you hold comment and said they were swamped. I told him I had been waiting and was hung up on. So he put me on hold again. Another 10 minutes went by and I was hung up on again. Question... what makes everyone else in the store more important as far as orders go. If you're expecting Austin quality Thundercloud food, leave the parking lot, take a right and head to any of the Austin locations. This place is embarrassing. We've been eating at Thundercloud since the 80s. This location should be closed by the founders immediately. Don't waste your time or money. The staff doesn't take pride in their work whatsoever. I've been to this Thundercloud several times. It's handy since it's next to the store I spend all my time at (Twin Liquors. Don't judge me), and generally it's clean and efficient. However, when I went yesterday I saw something that gives me pause. It was a Sunday and the store was reasonably busy when 4 of us ordered subs. The same person made my sandwich, took my money, gave me change, then did the same with the person behind me, all without ever changing his gloves. I've never seen this before at this store, and I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that it was a single time mistake, but it does show lack of attention to hygiene, and that makes me queasy. I may stick my head in a few times to watch the food/cash transaction to be sure it's being done properly Step it up, Thundercloud, I like you and want to go back! read more

In my opinion, a sub shop should serve sandwiches that are superior to what you can make at home. These are not... particularly the bread... was it frozen first?? Limited Menu. Sub par luncheon meats and rolls. Over priced for the quantity and quality of sandwiches. Nothing THUNDEROUS about this establishment. A step up from typical fast foods, yes, maybe, in that the food may be a bit healthier but not enough to recommend or revisit. Thundercloud Subs is a cookie cutter sandwich shop for the easy to please palette. The counter attendants and sandwich makers were very polite and courtesous, but the sandwiches were nothing to smile about. Maybe this company needs to reinvent itself and break away from the same old mentality and introduce a premium cut of luncheon meat and fresh daily baked sub rolls, that's a start or drop the "Thunder" and call it "Same Ol' Subs". read more

Great Customer Service, don't find this to be out-dated at all as someone suggested, found it not to be "a little dirty" at all as I have been there many, many times and find it to very clean. I love their selection but the Turkish Delight is out-of-site! This is the only sub shop or restaurant that I know of anywhere that still has alfalfa sprouts and they keep them really cold and in a safe place. Love this place! Is there a hype to this place? If so, I'm not sure why. I've eaten here about three times and I still can't figure out the big deal. I had deli sandwich of some sort last time and they handed it to me completely falling apart and thrown together. It didn't look appetizing nor did it taste appetizing. There's so much bread that it becomes tasteless but I'm not even sure if it would have flavor to begin with anyway. I was asked if I wanted a spicy or sweet sauce. I opted for the spicy and I don't really taste spice. I hardly taste salami. I tasted sweet and a lot of bread. When they cut the sandwiches you can then see how little they put in there. Even folding slices of meat and cheese will make it look thicker. They either need to change their product or add more. I'm not sure but everything is boring. Excellent service. Consistently excellent quality and the Dripping Springs location tops the list. I have always been a big fan of the fresh and tasty sandwiches at TC but I just found a new treat. The tomato bisque soup is the best I have had anywhere ever! Tangy and creamy with large chunks of tomato that taste like they have been roasted. I only ordered a cup but after tasting it, I ordered a bowl and then one to take home and share. I really want that recipe. Nice job TC! read more
