It is definitely an older hotel but the room is large and has a refrigerator, microwave,, coffee maker, and other things you may need. Beds are firm pillows are firm as well which I truly appreciate. The tub/toilet area is very tight and the toilet is very low - hard on the knees. The ambience is great and really fits with the beauty of the area. Better than a chain hotel. The staff at the desk were great. And the young lady in the trading post was very friendly and helpful.

This was the perfect place to stay and do the tour with to see the canyon! The staff was very helpful and David the tour guide was very knowledgeable (25years) The cafe on site was not too bad food was made to order and the prices were not too bad. The place reminded me as a location my grandparents would take me growing up. They did offer and night time Native American show which was very educational.

This a lodge type hotel with quite a few rooms right at the entrance to the Canyon de Chelly park. It's been here for many years I am told. The rooms were kept up to date -- somewhat rustic but clean and nice. Horrible AC though -- they had not turned them on and the rooms were unbelievably stuffy and never changed despite running AC all night. We were there for one night so it sufficed. I would suggest bring your own food as the restaurant there is not really very good (at least for breakfast) and expensive. I know the Navajo nation has been through a lot with COVID and is trying to cope the best it can. Check the hours for restaurant closures, etc. as there are limitations in place right now. Prior to coming into Chenle or you may find yourself without food. We fortunately found pizza in Ganado. Fortunately we had other good with us as

Clean, quite, and inviting! Close to exploring the canyon areas. Customer service was great when checking in. No external noise during the night. Enjoyed our one night stay. The air conditioner was a bit loud but just became background noise which wasn't a big deal. Overall, I would definitely stay again.

Stayed here while visiting Canyon de Chelly. The room was clean and quiet (concrete walls, no 2nd floor rooms). The WiFi was free and fast. Plenty of parking right outside the room. Friendly but professional staff at the front desk and gift shop. 10/10 would recommend!

The hotel is kind of in the middle of nowhere, after a long drive through empty fields, beside an escarpment that leads down into Chinle. The properties outside the hotel are trailer park scruffy. But the lodge itself is on lovely grounds, recently updated and has fresh, quality linens. There is plenty if parking for cars, and long vehicles. The appliances are old, but they work, and the walls are very thick. The furniture is real wood and substantial. WiFi is free but horribly slow. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the gift shop has a lot if quality merchandise at reasonable prices.

This was a great place to stay and they accept pets. This was a quiet location very nice. The room was very comfortable, good shower and comes with a kurig, iron and ironing board. If your staying there don't forget to check out the north or south rim. The cafeteria also had great food for breakfast lunch and dinner. I don't have pictures of the inn but here is the rim.

The location was close and it was a comfortable stay. Our room was nice, especially with the comfortable bed. In fact, of all the places we stayed at during our Arizona road trip, I'd say this hotel had the most comfortable bed. We only stayed for one night and since we had a lot of hiking planned, we needed to get up early. But I truly could've slept here for hours! If only... In addition to a comfortable bed, there was a mini fridge, TV with cable, free wifi, coffee and tea with a Keurig machine, toiletries, hair dryer, AC, etc. Our room was also on the bottom level, so we had sliding patio doors that walked out to the pool. The upper levels had balconies. The only bummer about staying here was that we thought there would be a continental breakfast, which is what Holiday Inn is known for. Unfortunately, there is no free breakfast. They do have a restaurant in the hotel, and it closes at 8pm. (We learned this the hard way.) Also, there were a ton of stray dogs around, which we didn't mind. But something to note if you don't like or are scared of dogs. They didn't bother the guests. We tried to feed them whatever food we had since they sadly looked hungry. Poor babies! Overall, this was a good stay. If you're in the area and are planning to visit Canyon De Chelly, you can't beat this location. And you'll want to sleep in the bed all night and morning long!

They have 24/7 security guards but I did not see security cameras outside. Had a room with King-sized bed and all the usual amenities. I was there for 2 nights and pleasantly surprised the room was cleaned after the first day. The lobby has lots of comfortable seating near a large fireplace. Enjoyed the breakfast as I usually prefer to go elsewhere. Nice patio and I did not try the restaurant that serves dinner only. Service was excellent. Nice gift shop for tourists. The location alone makes this place special. That said, the accommodations themselves were not very impressive. The rooms feel very outdated, and the floors are quite dainty. There's also no microwave in the room, which would have been convenient. On a positive note, the side wall insulation was surprisingly good--we couldn't hear a newborn, two young kids, or their parents next door at all but upper floors were paper thin we could hear people walking and slamming balcony door. One unexpected highlight of our stay was a white, fluffy dog that kept coming outside our balcony. I completely fell in love with my furry visitor. When I asked the receptionist, I was told the dog has an owner praying she was right and it was not a stray which was reassuring I think :( --but the night before checkout, it rained heavily, and I couldn't help but worry about my little friend. Thankfully, the next morning when I opened the curtains, the dog was there waiting, as if to say goodbye. That moment truly warmed my heart and wished I could take her home. I hope to see her soon. We also had the best view from our balcony to watch fireworks to welcome the New Year! Overall, we had a great experience because of the views, location, and peaceful atmosphere. However, if management were to reconsider remodeling and updating the rooms, this place could easily be 100% better and match the beauty of its surroundings. The girls in the office are so nice and pleasant! We would stay here again, maybe stay in a cabin next time.

A historical resort so filled with character, you will never see all of it. Cons: it's an old time hotel so buckle in. The elevator has a heavy steel door outside and a gated slider inside. The outside door is so heavy it slammed on my hand. Fortunately it didn't smash my wedding ring and nothing broke but it most certainly hurt. The rooms are named after old movie actors. Unfortunately, the reality of the whole situation was a very different experience. It started off great. The doorman held the door for us as we walked in. The check-in lady was super friendly. Our room was connected to our kids' room, which was fantastic. The vibe was Route 66 kitch, and we even had a little payphone in our room, which was fun. The woman in the gift shop was helpful with cultural Kachina Dancer questions I had. Although, as I was walking through the store, I noticed a t-shirt that said "Gallup: The Indian Capital". I live near two reservations, and the terms used are either Native American or Native for slang. If the t-shirt had been in New York City, fine. But at least half, if not all, of the staff is Native American. That's a pretty big slap in the face to those employees. I even mentioned it to a Native working in another store, and he rolled his eyes and said, "It happens all the time, man." I know it does, but that doesn't mean this hotel should be adding to it. It seems tacky. I woke early the next morning from suitcases clanging down the steps, people talking, and general hubbub. I get it's a motel, and I was on the ground floor by the parking lot, so I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep. What I COULDN'T ignore was cigarette smoke coming in my door and making me choke. I assumed someone was loading their car right in front of my door and having a smoke. Furious I opened the door and looked outside only to find a lady 6 rooms down from me quietly having a cigarette. I was honestly surprised at how smoky my room was vs how far away she was from my door. To be clear, I was not seeing clouds of smoke in my room; it just smelled like someone was smoking in there. The lady was very nice and put it out immediately when she learned I could smell it. I inspected the door frame when I closed it and noticed rather large gaps where light and air were coming through. (That means potentially fumes are coming in and AC/Heat is escaping.) I mentioned it to the cleaning lady and she said it must have gotten into the vent and then into our room. Not a great answer either. TL;DR Cute rooms, friendly staff, noisy in the morning, and random smells might enter your room.
