I was pleasantly surprised about this one. We arrived without reservations late after the Hampton Inn was booked solid and they recommended this place. With two toddlers in tow and a long day of driving, we were not picky. The lady at the counter was friendly and patient while i searched for my AAA card online as my card had expired the month prior. She got us in a first floor room (thankfully) and showed me where they had a continental breakfast was served in the morning. I asked if she sold OTC cough medicine as i was suffering from allergies and although they don't sell any she graciously found me some allergy medicine in her first aid box that she gave me. Upon entering the room, it looked very clean and well kept. We had free wifi and a nice size TV. The shower was hot and welcoming. The heater worked well. In the morning i went over to the breakfast room and picked up some bagels, yogurt, cereal, fruit, coffee and juice. They also had hard boiled eggs, Danish, muffins and milk. Great selection. They had a microwave as well. The parking lot was ample and the area was clean and we felt safe. Upon checking out, the lady behind the desk was friendly and i thanked her for a lovely stay. They have a nice gift shop with native made items. Brochures about the surrounding area. And the view is spectacular in the morning.

    enjoying that complimentary k-cup!

i rolled up here with my fingers crossed because i had NOT booked anything in advance, and in fact, had only BARELY decided to spend a night at a hotel on the Roadtrip Adventure i was taking (most overnighting was done in the car i had rented). the only hotel in Kayenta that boasted 24-hour status had not delivered on that, so i was getting a little nervous that i would have to head back to new mexico to hunt down a truck stop. FORTUNATELY, the Wetherill Inn came to the rescue, and delivered a marvelous little spot to spend the night. it was very direct and no-frills, but it had a comfortable mattress, a delectable selection of in-room k-cups and fantastic little spread for a complementary breakfast, and the best water pressure i've had the luxury of feeling in a moment! the service was similarly direct, but it was kind and at the end of the day, you can't beat safe, reasonably-priced lodging. there was also a small shop at the entrance full of marvelous art, a pool, and a chorus of neighborhood stray dogs that sang the motel to sleep (this was a pro for me, but if you're anti-sweet-creature then maybe it won't be your cup of tea ). a final note: their hours aren't posted online, but they close the front desk at 1am. they also take reservations online- while convenience was a huge factor for me on this trip, i would 100% recommend booking ahead!!

Have been here twice for multiple days. Hotels and motels are limited in Kayenta and during peak season prices are higher than you may have expected. Rooms are large and beds are comfortable, excellent service at front desk. Housekeeping is very good. Great little gift shop. Internet works well. They have a swimming pool. Bathrooms are a bit small. I have seen the breakfast selection and have never opted to stay. McDonalds is down the street.

We had a very comfortable night's sleep and loved the free Wi-Fi. We arrived late on a Saturday and we were greeted warmly by the night manager, who made the check in quick & easy. The beds were so comfortable and the heater worked great. Recommended for a great nights stay.

First, hotel is located in a different places than what yelp showed me. But, the address listed showed up correctly on gps map. The hotel was basic, good for the price and location. We arrived late at night and the front desk staff was very friendly. There is a parking lot but it was packed when we arrived. We found a spot, fortunately. The rooms were spacious but carpet could use a deep cleaning. Breakfast was decent--coffee was good!!

The place is not a 5 star hotel but the room was clean and the staff were nice!! I asked for extra and they went above and beyond my request. Also they serve breakfast with the room. Pancakes. Biscuits and gravy! Boiled eggs and more! The lotion in the room smells nice too! They also have a pool and a lounge area!!

They have 24/7 security guards but I did not see security cameras outside. Had a room with King-sized bed and all the usual amenities. I was there for 2 nights and pleasantly surprised the room was cleaned after the first day. The lobby has lots of comfortable seating near a large fireplace. Enjoyed the breakfast as I usually prefer to go elsewhere. Nice patio and I did not try the restaurant that serves dinner only. Service was excellent. Nice gift shop for tourists. The location alone makes this place special. That said, the accommodations themselves were not very impressive. The rooms feel very outdated, and the floors are quite dainty. There's also no microwave in the room, which would have been convenient. On a positive note, the side wall insulation was surprisingly good--we couldn't hear a newborn, two young kids, or their parents next door at all but upper floors were paper thin we could hear people walking and slamming balcony door. One unexpected highlight of our stay was a white, fluffy dog that kept coming outside our balcony. I completely fell in love with my furry visitor. When I asked the receptionist, I was told the dog has an owner praying she was right and it was not a stray which was reassuring I think :( --but the night before checkout, it rained heavily, and I couldn't help but worry about my little friend. Thankfully, the next morning when I opened the curtains, the dog was there waiting, as if to say goodbye. That moment truly warmed my heart and wished I could take her home. I hope to see her soon. We also had the best view from our balcony to watch fireworks to welcome the New Year! Overall, we had a great experience because of the views, location, and peaceful atmosphere. However, if management were to reconsider remodeling and updating the rooms, this place could easily be 100% better and match the beauty of its surroundings. The girls in the office are so nice and pleasant! We would stay here again, maybe stay in a cabin next time.

We only stayed for one night and since we had a lot of hiking planned, we needed to get up early. But I truly could've slept here for hours! If only... In addition to a comfortable bed, there was a mini fridge, TV with cable, free wifi, coffee and tea with a Keurig machine, toiletries, hair dryer, AC, etc. Our room was also on the bottom level, so we had sliding patio doors that walked out to the pool. The upper levels had balconies. The only bummer about staying here was that we thought there would be a continental breakfast, which is what Holiday Inn is known for. Unfortunately, there is no free breakfast. They do have a restaurant in the hotel, and it closes at 8pm. (We learned this the hard way.) Also, there were a ton of stray dogs around, which we didn't mind. But something to note if you don't like or are scared of dogs. They didn't bother the guests. From the moment we arrived, we felt like guest safety and basic cleanliness were clearly not a priority. At 9:14 p.m., I got an email saying our room key would be left on the ground directly under the doorknob. Yes--on the floor, outside the room. I saw multiple keys sitting outside other doors too. Anyone could have picked one up and walked into a room. This is not just lazy--it's a serious security risk. To make it worse, their own website claims they provide 24-hour service, saying: "We have a night phone located on the wall outside the front desk that rings directly to the night manager who will be available to support late arrivals." That's a lie. Instead of using this system, they chose to leave keys literally on the ground, like this was some kind of back-alley motel with zero standards. When we got into the room, we were immediately disgusted. There were flying bugs crawling all over everything--the bed, the bathroom, the floors, the windows. The bathroom window was absolutely swarming with insects, and because it doesn't seal properly, bugs were getting in all night. I woke up to a sink full of bug bodies. As if that weren't bad enough, the shampoo and conditioner were in cheap, home-style dispensers--the kind you can easily open and tamper with. Completely unsanitary and a huge health concern. There was also no information anywhere about front desk hours, restaurant details, or even how to connect to Wi-Fi. It felt like the bare minimum had been done to legally rent the room out, and that's it. No effort, no care, and clearly no respect for guests. Now, to be fair, the view from the room was beautiful and the woman who checked us out in the morning was super sweet--one of the only bright spots. But when we returned later to visit the gift shop, we were shocked. An older woman working behind the front desk was openly insulting a disabled vendor she buys product from--right in front of us. It was wildly inappropriate and uncomfortable to witness. And speaking of uncomfortable, the Native man working in the restaurant made us feel extremely uneasy. His attitude was off-putting, and the overall vibe was unwelcoming. This place is clearly running on autopilot, cutting corners everywhere and allowing unprofessional, even inappropriate behavior to go unchecked. I wouldn't stay here again if they paid me--and I'd seriously caution anyone considering it. The location may be scenic, but the operation behind it is a mess.
