Economic hostel with very nice clerk. The room was fairly clean but really old and small.

Goulding's Lodge - Monument Valley

5 stars for the views- 5 stars for my furry friend and everything else was mediocre…read more Goulding's Lodge is a beautiful property with stunning views--waking up to the scenery from our balcony was definitely a highlight of our stay. The location alone makes this place special. That said, the accommodations themselves were not very impressive. The rooms feel very outdated, and the floors are quite dainty. There's also no microwave in the room, which would have been convenient. On a positive note, the side wall insulation was surprisingly good--we couldn't hear a newborn, two young kids, or their parents next door at all but upper floors were paper thin we could hear people walking and slamming balcony door. One unexpected highlight of our stay was a white, fluffy dog that kept coming outside our balcony. I completely fell in love with my furry visitor. When I asked the receptionist, I was told the dog has an owner praying she was right and it was not a stray which was reassuring I think :( --but the night before checkout, it rained heavily, and I couldn't help but worry about my little friend. Thankfully, the next morning when I opened the curtains, the dog was there waiting, as if to say goodbye. That moment truly warmed my heart and wished I could take her home. I hope to see her soon. We also had the best view from our balcony to watch fireworks to welcome the New Year! Overall, we had a great experience because of the views, location, and peaceful atmosphere. However, if management were to reconsider remodeling and updating the rooms, this place could easily be 100% better and match the beauty of its surroundings. The girls in the office are so nice and pleasant! We would stay here again, maybe stay in a cabin next time.

I'm giving this hotel a 4 because of the views, the museum on site and the grated pool hours…read more The hotel room needs a need some TLC. The pillows were lumpy. The bathroom didn't have a fan. The walls were thin and you can hear people walking upstairs. Our upstairs neighbors didn't stop walking until after midnight. Worst night at a hotel. The patio is nice with great views. I wish this facility had a complimentary coffee and hot water like other hotels. I would have given them a 5 even after my terrible night.

We love the individual cabins and when traveling with family the larger cabins are perfect! If you are lucky enough to stay while their restaurant Duke's is open I highly recommend eating there for dinner. The breakfast is better than any I have ever had and the staff are all friendly and always helpful! I promise you cannot go wrong when staying here.

I recommend better pillows though, we had like a million pillows on the bed but they were all small and thin. I would say hit the chair with a green machine because it seems stained, as well as the lamp shade was stained too. We had a toy roll under the drawers and it def needs a good vacuuming as it has other items under there too that we're not from us. It would be nice to have a little night light in the room as it's pitch black, we stayed with our toddler and had to keep a lamp on at night to see anything. Continental breakfast is decent, I'd like to have seen Apple juice since OJ is super sugary for kids. The WiFi is awesome! The TV channels are super basic so I'd recommend maybe install streaming Apps for guests. The staff is super nice and they all seem to like being there. Would def stay here again when visiting family again.

With that being said, accommodations are priced accordingly. Location has restaurants and fast food nearby. Kayenta Flea Market is nearby if traveling through on a Wednesday. When you check into the Hotel they advise you to not keep valuables in your vehicle or on the top of the vehicle due to theft. That becomes an "oh shit moment" but a prudent warning nonetheless. They have 24/7 security guards but I did not see security cameras outside. Had a room with King-sized bed and all the usual amenities. I was there for 2 nights and pleasantly surprised the room was cleaned after the first day. The lobby has lots of comfortable seating near a large fireplace. Enjoyed the breakfast as I usually prefer to go elsewhere. Nice patio and I did not try the restaurant that serves dinner only. Service was excellent. Nice gift shop for tourists. Have stayed at other Hotels in the area and this one is the best. Book your stay well in advance and enjoy the scenery and culture of the area!

The room was well kept though. Ac worked fine. They don't carry body wash dispensers in the shower, only shampoo and conditioner. The wall lining in the shower was cracked in some spots. For being middle of no where, the quality was great and I'd definitely stay here again! The breakfast was nice! So much bacon!!!

We were greeted immediately upon arrival and the front desk staff were all very friendly and accommodating. They have a nice gift shop and a small grocery area for necessities and snacks. Our room was HUGE and super comfortable! Clean, nicely decorated and very roomy. LOVED the option to get 3 queen sized beds, and loved the attached patio that provided gorgeous red rock views and immediate access to one of the fire pits. I enjoyed a dinner from the onsite restaurant on the patio and also enjoyed some relaxing time at the fire pit once it was lit. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am, and they start to turn off the fire pits just prior to that. Also loved the ability to stream on the television from my phone with Chromecast. We also purchased some snacks at the store. I'm already planning to visit here again, hopefully for a longer stay!
