Bunkers had tons of weeds and over growth and the sand was not so sandy, hard packed so a little difficult to pop the ball out if you find yourself in one. Some of the holes can get narrow but it presents a good challenge to see if you can thread that needle. As for the putting, it was difficult to get that ball in the hole as they run slow so you need to be precise with your speed. For the price with cart it wasn't too bad. Now there are many other courses but for ease of booking and getting out to play, Reidy Creek might be the answer.

Staff makes the day better, from clubhouse to starter to cart staff, always a great experience. Correction on prior review, golf carts DO have coolers with ice, so bring your water and soda. GPS on carts matches my Garmin, so take that as good news too. If you're lucky, you'll catch an afternoon where smashburgers are grilled to order on the patio, big win! It looked pretty neglected, almost like it hadn't been properly maintained in a long time. The mats were worn out and in rough shape, and a lot of the range balls were dirty and even cracked, which took away from the warm-up experience. The golf carts were older, but they were still functional and got the job done getting from hole to hole. The bathrooms, however, also weren't great and had a strong unpleasant smell, which could definitely use attention. Overall, despite a few noticeable drawbacks in the facilities outside the course itself, I would still recommend it as a solid value option if you're mainly there to play a round of golf rather than use the practice amenities.

My parents are staying at the Welk resort and my two sons and I got to play disc golf with my dad. It is always a pleasure to play with my dad who is 80 years old . My dad and I Aren't great but good enough to enjoy playing. The course is nice. The different holes have varied lengths some are up hill Or down hill or across a gullie or some are dog legged. With a good amount of trees that can occasion be an obstacle. It was not that crowded. A family of kids ahead of us were playing soccer golf which also runs along with the golf course. The attendant had fantastic customer service. Can't say much about the golf course except that it was landscaped and maintained well. It was a great day.

The Welk brand meant quality, and the resort was maintained with real pride. But since the recent Marriott Vacations takeover, the shift in quality has been impossible to ignore--and unfortunately, it's not for the better. Simply put, Marriott is not maintaining the course to the standard that Welk reliably delivered. A few glaring issues make that clear: Tree maintenance is being ignored. Several large trees have gone untrimmed, and on holes 2, 5, 9, and 18, tee shots have become far more difficult--not because of course design, but because of flat-out neglect. Tee boxes are in poor shape. Many are chewed up, uneven, or patchy, and the tee markers feel like they've been placed at random with little regard to actual alignment. It gives the impression that whoever's setting them hasn't spent much time on a golf course. Green quality is no longer consistent. The early holes play fast and true, but by the back half of the course, the greens slow down noticeably. The mowing and maintenance simply aren't uniform. The sand traps are a disaster. While it was nice to see someone recognized they needed more sand, whoever approved the material clearly didn't inspect it. The new "sand" is filled with large rocks and countless pebbles. Not only does this make bunker shots frustrating--and potentially damaging to clubs--but it spreads debris onto several greens, forcing players to pick rocks off their putting lines. No one with even basic golf knowledge would have chosen this material. I genuinely miss the level of care that Welk invested in this resort. Now, with Marriott Vacations at the helm, I'm left wondering what the future holds--and not in a good way.
