I stumbled upon this place when looking for a quick and cheap lunch before helping to set up an event at the nearby Published Arthouse.
The service was quite friendly, the space itself felt like an old school sandwich bar that just happens to sell banh mi and cold rolls. Which I kinda dig. I don't need no fancy finery. I just need good service and even better food.
Sadly, in my case the banh mi was nothing to write home about (so you get to hear what my mumma doesn't... lucky you). My roll was super stale - I was given the last one on the shelf before they brought out a new tray for the next customer. I was a little shirty about that as the whole roll was crumbled as soon as they sliced it, yet they still persisted and added fillings (not overly generous, but not stingy either) and handed me the dry crumbled mess. Thank goodness they'd put a lot of sauce to help me break that baby down.
In all, if I happened to be working an event in the area again and needed cheap lunch in a rush I'd definitely be open to giving these guys a second chance, but if I had the time I'd wander along elsewhere. read more
