In October, I purchased four brand new tires, along with new brakes, for my vehicle. I scheduled a service appointment with Thruway Nissan for December, specifically to address a check engine light. On the morning of my appointment, my tire pressure warning light also illuminated, and I requested that the tires be checked as an additional concern. During the visit, I was informed that I needed two new tires because one was allegedly bald. This assertion made no sense, as the tires had been purchased less than two months earlier. After I questioned this finding with the service manager, he later contacted me and claimed that my new tires were actually on my sister's vehicle, stating that he personally had driven to her home and seen the tires on her car. This accusation strongly implied that my sister and I had switched tires, which is completely false, offensive, and unprofessional. My sister then spoke directly with him and provided proof that she purchased her own four brand new tires in May from a tire company. The service manager had his cashier call while my sister was on the phone to confirm the purchase to Nissan's Service Department. The tire company confirmed, conclusively disproving the accusation. Immediately following this call, my sister contacted Nissan Corporate Consumer Affairs, and a case was opened. Despite Nissan Corporate being placed on notice, no corrective action was taken, no meaningful follow-up occurred, and the dealership's conduct was allowed to continue unaddressed. My vehicle was returned to me 1 1/2 weeks later. The dealership represented that four new tires had been installed on my vehicle prior to its return. However, just two weeks after picking up my car, my tire pressure warning light illuminated again. Given the prior false accusations, contradictory statements, lack of transparency, and the significant cost of the work involved, this has caused me to seriously question whether the work they claim to have performed was done correctly--or at all. Because I also purchased new brakes, and a bunch of other services they stated I needed, and the total cost of work and parts purchased during the 2 visits was almost $5,000, I am now deeply concerned about whether these critical safety and performance components were properly installed, inspected, or even installed at all. This entire situation has caused significant emotional distress. I have not been sleeping well, as I rely on this vehicle for work and to transport my elderly mother. Transmission Replacement - Misleading Quote & Poor Communication I had my 2017 Nissan Pathfinder serviced at Nissan of Newburgh for a transmission replacement after being quoted $4,049 for parts and $2,317 for labor -- specifically for a brand-new transmission. I was in constant communication with the service advisor, Mildred, and asked multiple times via email and phone to confirm that the part would be new. Each time, she assured me that it was. I went as far as having my vehicle towed from another dealership, based on that promise -- only to later find out, after the work was done and the bill was paid, that a remanufactured transmission was installed. That was never disclosed or approved. The final cost also did not match what I was originally quoted, and I was never notified of the price change until it was too late. The lack of transparency was extremely frustrating and has left me feeling misled and taken advantage of. I've since raised this concern with the dealership and plan to file formal complaints with NYS DMV and Nissan Consumer Affairs. This dealership along with its management are complete and utter scumbags!!!! They are affiliated with Thruway Nissan in Newburgh, NY who are also the scum of the earth. We purchase two Tire/Wheel and Oil Protection Plus plans after leasing two cars from the Newburgh location and when we requested to use the tire replacement option due to my wife getting some type of tear in the right rear tire. This is the second occasion due to my son picking up a nail last year. These programs cost &364.00 for each vehicle mind you. Each time we took our cars to the Riverside Nissan location (which is affiliated with Thruway Nissan) they claimed that they couldn't locate our Protection Plus Policy number and the first time it took nearly a week to get our tire replaced and the service manager claimed to correct the problem but had not. The first time when we went to the affiliate dealership, they told us we would have to call the dealership we purchased the vehicle from to get the policy information but every time we called through a Nissan, they put us on hold six times all accumulated for nearly 4 hours. When we lease the car we were made to believe that the policy would be brought up by just the location fixing the tire or replacing the tire put the vehicle identification number into the computer policy and the insuring companies information would come up. We thought that after the first time and going through all the headaches that the problem will be corrected, but just a few short days ago, we had the same problem with the same dealership Riverside Nissan and I spoke to the person who admitted to being a manager, he scoffed at me when I said I purchased my vehicle at their affiliate dealership in New York. After waiting three days and going back-and-forth to Riverside Nissan and being treated in a very obnoxious manner, I finally decided to take a ride to Thruway Nissan where I leased the vehicle and try to deal with the issue But another person who claimed to be a manager at Thruway Nissan once again waiting for over an hour and then claimed to be out of the tire that is one of the most common sizes in the country for the Nissan rogue which we were seeking to get replaced. At one point, the person who claimed to be a manager finally made us copies of our policies for each car and then told us that he spoke to the service department, and they would take care of us as quickly as possible. When we went to speak to the person at the service department at Thruway Nissan, He identified himself as James and told us we would have to wait until he verified the size of the tire by waiting for a repair person to come out to the car and take it into the service area and put it on a lift and get the size off the side of the affected tire. You would think a service person working at a Nissan dealership would know every size of every tire on the makes and models of their car but we waited another two hours for them to tell us they didn't have to, and they would contact us when they got more tires In, so we drove another hour back to Hackensack where we live, and the affiliate Riverside Nissan dealer is located and we waited for several days until we called the service person James again at which time he stated that there were two tires in a service area and he had to check to see which one was ours before we drove all the way back to New York State, but he never called me back. I called again the next day and he said there was a truck delivering dozens of new tires and he would locate one for our vehicle but this is two weeks later And we have never received a call back. We have called Nissan USA in Franklin Tennessee and we have gotten nothing from them whatsoever. One callback came from a person named David who would only deal with our request to cancel the protection plus plan because it was not working and we wanted our money back and we should've even gotten paid for the time we waited for each Time we went to the dealership and cost us gas, money and lunch because we waited so long we had to have lunch. I absolutely love this place but the service department has a female that answers the phone and speaks with all of the clients and her name is Samantha. she's rude. She doesn't listen to you. She hung the phone up on me and she has absolutely no professional manner and should not be in this line of work. I dealt with the service manager who I think is the nicest guy and listened to me after Samantha hung the phone up on me. If anything she should be reprimanded and taught how to speak to people on the phone and to let people speak to her. She does no listening and won't let you speak. Have your mechanic check it completely before you give any money, and I mean everything including the tires (Mine had a huge plug that started leaking after a few weeks and they said I was responsible) The biggest problem was a faulty clutch which the Kia dealer diagnosed to be replaced, and they did not want to hear it. I bought the car with 15,000 miles so I could not be wear and tear. I felt the clutch was not working properly as I did the first test drive. I thought I would have my mechanic check it after I got it hoping that the 90 day warranty would cover any problems. WRONG!!! Went to pick up my wife's Brand New Rogue and it was smacked up in the corner when one of their guys moved it. I get it, things happen but had they called me to let me know I wouldn't have left work early expecting to pick up the new vehicle. Worse yet they expected me to leave the lot like this. The salesman said oh don't worry it won't get reported so it won't go on your insurance or a carfax. I was extremely pissed. I told the salesman I didn't want it. He was confused. He asked why don't you want it, said it's no big deal we can fix it. A car is probably the 2nd most expensive thing people buy and it was damaged. Then the sales mgr was like no worries we have another one. I said I thought this was the last one. Well according to the salesman it was, all lies. He says this type of thing happens all the time. Hold on a minute if this happens all the time I think you should re-evaluate who you have working for you. So then he brings it up front and it's full of tree sap and assured me they'll make it right. I go to pick up the car the following day I notice a scratch on the roof. They just brushed it off and said oh you get a $500 lease grievance so it's no big deal. Oh and it's missing the front bumper tow cover. They pop the one off the banged up one from the previous day and said they must of missed it. When we get the key fobs I was like this isn't the same car from yesterday, I took a pic of the number on the fob. The salesman said oh yea your right. The one with the sap needs to get re-painted. Theeee absolute worst experience I have ever had with a dealership / mechanic . I've had a Nissan for over 5 years $ have been a client with this dealership from the start of my Nissan journey. I've had 3 diff Nissans, 2 leased, just bought 1 July 4th,2023. Took my car to get an oil change back in February, not even 24 hours later the engine starts sounding like it's struggling to stay alive, that it's going to die and then the Nissan app starts sending me emails saying emission control malfunctioning. it was 8pm at night so I had a friend look under the hood real quick and we can visually see a tube that goes to the engine isn't even connected. I brought the car back the next day and it dies on the employees in the parking lot when they tried to test drive it. Mass air flow sensor/ PCV valve & hose & intake manifold is what was broken or missing. They kept my car for like a week. Not even 5 months later On July 14th at 4am the car doesn't start , had to get jump started. I let it run for a little before turning it off and then tried to turn it back on but it wouldn't turn on. Had to Jump start it again 12 hours later and it sends me the emission control malfunctioning this time so I left the car alone and couldn't take care of what I had to do on Sunday or even bring it to Nissan. The next day on Monday I had to jump start it again at 9am to even be able to take it to Nissan. I asked for a rental car and was told they have to look at it first before determining whether or not I can have a rental because "there so busy" and don't have appointments till the 27th but DONT EVEN KNOW if there going to even have time to look at the car. I call back around 12PM to find out any news the lady tells me it looks like there going to be able to look at it and that she'll call me back later in the day. Around 4pm I get 2 messages saying the emission controls malfunctioning meaning they turned the car on. Nobody ever calls me back. I call Tuesday at 7:30am because I'm already getting messages at 6:11 am, 7:17am, 7:19am, about the emission control again so I know they turned the car on again. The lady i spoke to was absolutely, disgustingly rude. She goes and tells me I still can't have a rental because they havnt got to it , mind you I don't even have a car still because they have my car and don't want to give me a rental AS IF ITS NOT THE SAME ISSUE FROM BEFORE & AS IF THE ENGINE IS NOT FAILING AGAIN. so I said that the car has been turned on 5 times now. She goes and states the cars get moved around a lot all day. Mind you I had to jump start my car 3 times within not even 48 hours for it to even run so I'm assuming they would have to do the same?? Like yall basically turned it on 5 times and still ain't even look at it as if the engine is not failing which I would assume would cause more problems ???. I ask again about the rental, as I have a civil court case with the Supreme Court in Kingston NY in a few hours and it cannot be missed and work to attend etc. the lady DEADASS TELLS ME not her problem, that they ARE DOING ME the favor of taking the car (even thou they dont even know when they are going to look at it) & TO TAKE A UBER !!. Tried to explain to her I don't have $180+ to be taking an Uber to Kingston and back, that I atleast need one for a few hours to attend my hearing & she just kept repeating the same thing. Told me it had 2 keys (only one given) Had a trade in but wouldn't take it off the price of the new car (had to come back days later for a check). Did get the extended warranty for it (Thank god!! You'll see why later). They don't even give u a copy of warranty info or bill of sale. Say it's all on a flash drive they hand u. Warranty info not on the flash drive. 1/2019. Received 2 tickets in the mail for a violation of the trade in I gave them (somewhere in the Bronx). I don't own the vehicle!!!! Got them squashed, but still..come on man!! What are u doing with these trade ins and where u storing them? 2/2019. Huge amounts of white smoke coming out of exhaust. Bring it into dealership because it's under warranty. They find nothing wrong, topped my fluids and said if I still see smoke up to 500 mi later bring it back. 2/2019. Not even 150 mi later, smoke is worse. Bring it in and find out I need a whole new engine. (This is where u need to fine tooth comb your warranty). Warranty company will replace the engine of equal value...that's right. You're about to get a refurbished engine of almost the same mileage. Took them 3 weeks to locate the engine and install it. Best part about this is that I was able to drive around their 2019 Rogue for that time as a loaner. 3/2019. Got my car back but am smelling antifreeze. Bring it back in, and they tell me an animal chewed a hose that's underneath the engine. Really? In the two days I had it back an animal went straight for that hose?? Lol. Whatever. Warranty didn't cover it and had to pay $150 to have it changed out. Thinking about trading it back to them at this point but they say I lost $6000 in equity in the 6mo I had the vehicle. Paid $17000. Only offering me $11000 to trade it back. F that. 5/2019. Driving down the road at about 55mph and my vehicle shuts off like I turned the engine off. Bring it back in and it's an electronic component in that rebuilt engine they put in. Warranty doesn't cover it. $325 charge. 7/2019. Battery dead and not holding a charge. Changed the battery out myself. 8/2019. Tires worn on front. Changing them out myself. I understand the last two are regular maintenance, but haven't even had the vehicle 1 year yet and all this has happened? Bad luck or bad dealership? Maybe a combo of both. Cross your Ts and dot your I's at this dealership. They don't include any oil changes and are very quick to make u a deal. My advice?? Stay clear of this one and go to Kingston Nissan if u want a Nissan. read more

All went well until I go turn in my old plates, DMV informed us we could have transferred our registration from my old car to my new one. Unfortunately Thruway Nissan sales person told us we couldn't, that we had to put a new registration and plates on the new car. ThenDMV informed us that dealerships (Thruway Nissan) make more money having customers put new registrations and plates on the cars then transferring them over... Do NOT purchase a Nissan Rogue with a sunroof. I purchased my Rogue Jan. 15, 2018. A few years ago after a huge rainstorm, water was pouring into my car from the sunroof and glove compartment. There was so much water that I had to use a wet vac to get rid of it. It took hours to remive the water. I went to Nissan and was told that that I would have to pay $500 to have the water drained. I declined because I didn't do anything to cause the problem. In June of this year, the priblem began again. I went back to Nissan at the beginning of July and spoke with Jessica Bowie, the Service Advisor who was extremely rude. She told me there was nothing they could do unless I were to pay $450. I told her that would be a no because that's a Nissan defect and not a problem that I caused. She then said, "what do you want from me?" I told her that I wanted them to fix the problem. She then said that was going to happen unless I was going to pay $450. I then spoke with Angel Roman the Sales Manager regarding Jessica's behavior. I explained the problem to him and told him she was very rude. He said, "I'll speak to her". My response was, I'm sure you will. It is extremely frustrating having water fall down on my head from the sunriof, and have water dripping down from the eyeglass holder. The perimeter top of the car is turning brown from the water damage. The driver's side carpet appears to have mold which I believe is the root to my new cough. Now I could see that you have a lot value but the service was ok but it was very slow and I paid cash for all of the cars that I purchased and all I have been told that my new car #. 2021 Maxima platinum was going to be her in two days and I was told that I was going to be able to to pick it up tomorrow morning and I don't know what is going on. I had a long time waiting for my car and was going to get my money back but I didn't, They weren't honest about things that were going on I bought I bought 4cars for cash in the last 4 months for family members and they were not honest with me about what they were doing. I if you don't want honesty about why your car is being held up then you're ok. They lied to me about what they were doing with my last 3 cars and I didn't deserve that.they should have told me what they were asked to do instead of being dishonest. One star only because I have to. No stars at all for this dealership! I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I found a vehicle on their website i wanted to check out. I called and spoke with a very nice woman and told her I would be down to look at the vehicle. When I got there and asked for this woman I was told I would see whomever was available. Okay... I sat and waited for several minutes-not so long that I was getting impatient- and finally a young man asked if he could help me. I explained why I was there and that I had spoken to this woman and told her I was going to be there after work. He went and brought the vehicle around and oh my GOD it was disgusting! It still had garbage in it And there was some kind of disgusting mud in the cracks when you opened the doors! there were several scratches and some outright dings also! I asked to speak with a manager to see if they would be willing to drop the price because of this. An assistant manager came out who didn't seem to even want to give me the time of day! He said they would not negotiate the price even with all the disgusting garbage and dings and scratches. I will never buy a vehicle from or recommend this dealership to anyone ever! Buyers beware! They will screw you if you don't be careful! I tried to buy a used Murano. They wanted to charge a $1600 dealer prep fee. When I questioned it they said they could reduce it down to $600. I was told the payment I was quoted was average interest rate but when I called them out on it I found out they were quoting an interest rate double the average so they could put more money in their pockets. After leasing a car for three years I expected my customer loyalty to be appreciated, but the sales manager MICHAEL SMITH was very condescending, talked down to me, and all about the money the business was losing instead of trying to make a deal and get the car off the lot. Horrendous! The lift gate on my 2015 Nissan Quest would not open from the outside of the car. I brought it to the Nissan Thruway Serivce department where I was told that it would cost $129 to diagnos and possibly fix the problem. Thinking that this had to be a very simple fix and couldn't possibly cost more than that, I foolishly agreed. I stood outside the door of the work area of the garage to monitor what the mechanic was doing. He hooked up a computer to some wiring inside the liftgate panel and walked away, not to return for at least a half hour. The total amount of actual hands on labor that he performed did not amount to more than 20 minutes. How they could justify charging $130 for so little work had me quite upset, but at least they fixed the problem.... or so I thought. In fact, I was informed that my door needed a new electric switch (surprise, surprise... that is probably what the vast majority of Quests with that problem require since there are no mechanical parts to the lock mechanism. The price of that switch was $270 which would have brought the repair total up to a staggering $440 with tax... OUTRAGEOUS!!! I screamed bloody murder and the manager asked me never to come to his place again. Just now, I looked up the price of a Nissan OEM switch... 29 bucks!! Installation time, a half hour tops! I fully understand that repairs at the dealer cost more than at your neighborhood mechanic, but this is way beyond the pale! If you're an extremely wealthy person who cares not a lick about money, fine, go to THRU WAY... but for the rest of you, STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEN OF VIPERS!!!! read more

Unbelievably bad experience. I took in my Versa for a "free" airbag recall. The car has been inspected and tuned up by my trusted local guy the week before. The folks at Thruway made up 2K worth of "required" repairs. The only one I had them do was replace front brake pads. I brought car to my local guy later that day. Four independent mechanics looked at it and concluded that none of the "required" repairs was at all needed. It gets worse. My daughter drives the car to VA for college. We come down to visit and the front brakes are constantly squeaking. She says it has been that way the whole time. I bring it to a guy in Richmond who says the problem is that the pads had been put in incorrectly by the Thruway folks. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

So this review is two fold. It first started 2 years ago when I leased my Nissan Rogue and the experience was ok. A lot of haggling, some misleading by the sales department , but in the end I was happy with the deal when all was said and done. When I went to sign and pick the vehicle up a process that should have taken about a half-hour took over and hour because they were so backed up and didn't have the courtesy to tell me that they were behind. I finally got the deal and all and all I was happy with the deal I worked out but not ok with the experience. Fast forward to today about two weeks ago I got an email stating that they had a early upgrade for leases to get you into a new Nissan . 6 payments would be forgiven and I could turn the lease in early. So I thought let me give them another try. I went a couple days later and spoke with a Tony witch said he would work on the deal and give me a call. Well that call never came. So I called him Monday morning to have him tell me that they would not honor there email that they sent me with no explanation and he wouldn't even give me any kind of monthly lease payments . So I asked to speak to a manager and he said Steve the manager was with a client and would call me by days end, witch again never came. So I emailed the internet sales person for Thruway Nissan with questions on why they would not honor the email they sent me and yes you guest it no response. We all know that working with car dealerships can be hard and frustrating but when a dealership is going to be dishonest and not respond to customer that have giving them business in the past your on a hole different level! Love Nissan products but the sales experience was not good. The vehicle we use for our business was totaled so we needed a replacement quickly which the salesman Rich W was more than eager to point out when I wanted to take a few minutes to think about the deal they were offering. We inquired about a 2017 van on their lot. When we were going to take it for a test drive, they couldn't get it started -so forget that one. We decided to go with a new one that they did not have in stock. We filled out the paperwork & left a $500 deposit and was told we would get a call the next day letting us know when they could get it. We did not get a call. When my husband called the general manager the next day he didn't even know about the deal! The following day my husband called & they still didn't know when the van would be there but they did have the loan approval. My husband thought the interest rate was high & while he was still on the phone the general manager was like oh yeah there's another offer that's better. Imagine that. We finally did pick up the van a week later. Paperwork went pretty smoothly except... All of the proper paperwork was not provided to our insurance agent. My husband took care of that himself. My $500 deposit was not refunded. After a few days I called (twice because the 1st message was not returned). Rich said he forgot. After two more days I called again & was told a credit could take 7 days. I have now put in a dispute with the credit card company. Overall happy with vehicle but unhappy with the sales experience. VERY DECEPTIVE! The finance person who worked on my documents was very pushy. I was overcharged by $1,000 and about $1,200 on a "service contract". I bought a used car last December 15, 2020 worth around $10k and I was expecting around 1-2k on top of it (for sales taxes, doc fees, etc.). But my invoice showed a total of around $15k (for a 7 year old car). They have very very vague explanations on the fees they charge. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER! read more

This place charged me 2500.00 for a warranty they never told me about. I was too busy having papers shoved in my face to sign, that I was not careful in reading any of it. I had to buy 4 brand new tires and get an alignment after I bought my car here. I am not a car person and I trusted the dealership to sell me a car in proper condition. The tires that came with this car were bald and I spent an additional 900.00 buying tires only 6 weeks after purchasing this car They cannot be trusted. Please just go else where for a car. read more
