The game show experience was super fun and engaging for the 17 year old kids as well as their parents. The whole group had a blast! The only frustrating thing was how long it took them to get our game show experience started. It's expensive for 2 hours and we played for less than 90 minutes. Some of their start up logistics could be better as to maximize game time. Due to the time crunch, not everyone in our group got to play the plinko game which everyone wanted to play. It took forever for them to load the carts. They did jump workers around to different activities so everything isn't always open and the times posted didn't actually match up to when they were open.

There is a pretty great selection of games at Tom Foolery. I do wish they had an NBA Jam style arcade machine or more "mature" games like Halo and Walking Dead, but beggars can't be choosers. If you've ever wanted to just be a guy and run through full arcade game campaigns, the Tom's Power Hour deal is absolutely worth it. I will be back one day to beat the Jurassic Park campaign. It's your friend's birthday. She's six drinks deep on the night (that might be under the true…read morecount), and she loves murder mysteries. Now, I've seen 2018's Game Night, and I don't have the money to get Jeffrey Wright to come to my house and start a mystery. The second best thing is a murder mystery escape room at Escapology in Round Rock. Here's my spoiler-free review of how things went down. As we got in, we got a chance to buy alcohol and drinks from Escapology to take into the mystery room with us. That's pretty cool, because nothing makes critical thinking easier than a Dos. Once we got in and were explained the rules, it was go time. We started messing around with things, trying to figure out where to start. For the most part, one thing led to another led to another, and we were burning through the clock. Sadly, bad math and some overthinking led us toward some moments of confusion, but we were pretty well locked in. Our birthday queen was not really all there, but we sure let her punch in most of the codes. She had the most fun. I really love how the puzzles in these mystery rooms are always so creatively unique, and the additional rooms that open up as you continue playing. Being able to see that pathway in real time as you're playing is so cool. We had seemingly unlimited clues from the Game Master, and we asked for just a few during our play, which told us how we were basically on the right track, and either just did a minor thing wrong or just forgot a step along the way. This was the most fun I've had at an escape room before. Maybe it was the alcohol in my system, but I wanna say it's from the high-quality rooms that Escapology put together, which really felt thought out and creative. The Dos was nice too. We had to really work together, think through the clues, and pay attention to the details. We ended up solving the room with only a few minutes left, which made the whole experience even more fun. The staff really stood out, too. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and genuinely enthusiastic about making sure we enjoyed ourselves. You could tell they wanted us to have a great experience. And a special bonus for the adult in the group: the bar! While the teenagers were excited about the escape room, having that little grown-up treat made the outing even better for me. This was such a fun thing to do with teenagers, which is not always the easiest age group to entertain. Everyone left talking about how much fun they had and wanting to do another room.
