Customer Non-Service! This message is concerning the Walker,…read moreMinnesota store. On Mon., Apr. 5, my mother called a prescription in for refill. On Wed., Apr. 7, she called to find out whether it was ready. It was not. On Thurs., Apr. 8, she had business in Walker so stopped in before her other business to pick her prescription up. It was not ready. She said that she would stop back for it after her meeting in a few hours. When she arrived later that afternoon, she was told that her prescription was still not ready but that they were "working on it" and it would be ready in a few minutes. At that point, the pharmacy manager intercepted her and remarked in the pharmacy's public waiting area, "I've had just about enough of you'" and told my mother to follow her into a small closet-like room, which she did. The manager then accused my mother of hassling the pharmacy staff and of being disorderly and too demanding. She scolded and berated my mother and then let her out of the closet-room so she could fetch her prescription, which was now ready. My mother is 91 years old, very short and weighs 107 lbs. She does not have dementia or any other mental impairment. She is not disorderly or threatening in any way. The pharmacy manager ambushed her and inappropriately singled her out for verbal abuse. I have reported this incident and the behaviors my mother experienced to her physician, Dr. Lisa Harmon, at Essentia Health. My sister also telephoned the pharmacy manager and advised her that her behavior was inappropriate. The manager told my sister that my mother was "mean" to her. It's hard to imagine that Thrifty White's corporate expectations of staff would sanction language and behavior like this. Dr. Lisa Harmon informed my mother and me that she has had quite a number of complaints about the Walker Thrifty White store of late. She took notes at our appointment with her on Thurs., Apr. 15. She advised us to contact corporate so that these kinds of interactions are checked. We informed the TW corporate on April 17. We have yet to get any response. This incident greatly upset my mother. The pharmacy manager was out of line and acted unprofessionally. I advise anyone in northern Minn. to steer clear of this pharmacy -- most emphatically!
