I rented a car through rentalcars.com in Dublin on 1st of August 2016 and I paid approximately €173 for 3 days between 5th- 8th of August.
My booking clearly states that it had the full protection which includes;
The rental car company was Thrifty which is located in South Lotts Road, Dublin 4.
On the day we went for collecting the car, the personnel lady suggested us another similar car option which was a regular model of Skoda and we accepted.
BUT! They didn't asked for further payment for a coverage and we didn't ask for anything else. They just needed my debit card to block some amount for security. On 8th of August we returned the car without any problem, they inspected the car and confirmed it so we left.
After that, I saw that -500€ was blocked on my debit card account and I called Hertz to learn details about it on 10th of August, they said that the amount will disappear in 10 days when the blockage will be over.
The PROBLEM is, I still see -300€ on my account and when I called the customer service today, the lady said that it was the full coverage money that they took for renting the car, plus the money I paid for booking it.
I repeat, I did not requested any other coverage because when I booked it the total amount with the full coverage was only €173 and the person who lended us the car didn't mention anything about this payment. So I am requesting a full refund of this mistake, the refund of €300 immediately.
I will go to Thrifty as soon as possible to make a complain personally.
I hope they can help me out with this mistake read more
