I really enjoyed this thrift center because it's a good size, and they pack a lot of stuff in there! There is plenty of parking in their own lot but the spaces are very narrow. There is also street parking available. They have a ton of clothes and household items to rummage through. Everything is organized, the store is clean, and the employees are nice. Prices are very affordable. I especially love that there isn't a huge crowd, so shopping is easy. My sister and I always find some good items. This is our second time here and we would definitely come back again. read more

I came here on a Saturday, 30 minutes before closing. It's a big space. Easy parking in their lot. Found my Halloween outfit. For the month of October they are having 50% off everything in the store! There's 2 changing rooms. Limit of 3 items. Clothing items are not organized by size. They have a separate room for toys and games. Great prices. I love this place. I get so many fun treasures here and their prices are decent. They have however started to mark up brand names making some items VERY expensive. However there are lots of special days where things are 30-50 percent off. Weekends are the best times to come when things are 30% off. They followed the trend of thrift stores marking up designer brands which I don't agree with. However that is the trend. I think ALL thrift stores in the bay are doing this. I came and purchased some toys that were new/barely used and the prices were no higher than $5. A great deal! They have clothes, toys, dinnerware, antiques, book, and purses. It is off of Mission Blvd., so there can be traffic getting there. They also have a small parking lot, so it can take a while to find parking. It can get crowded inside and the aisles are a little smaller. Other than those few downsides, it is a hidden gem! Happy thrifting! read more

Stop by and came across an apple watch on a $6.99 bin that is stored behind the counter. As i was paying i asked if it worked and they seemed surprised it was in there. They said it worked but has no charge and it shouldn't be in that bin so they charged me $23 for it. I went home and plugged it in to charge for about 5 hours and it doesn't turn on. I've been coming here here and there. Its a hit or miss. These stickers that they use are used to help prevent customers from price tampering and its not possible to tamper with items behind the register! But A lot of stuff but a lot of it shouldn't be placed on the floor and instead in the garbage. Prices are kind of high for the things that they are selling. Definitely some fake stuff too. I live very close to this thrift store so I come here pretty often. It can be very hit and miss. I've seen some reviews complaining about how the entrance and parking lot is in a "weird" spot. I completely disagree since it's pretty obvious at first glance from Mission Blvd where you're supposed to drive into the parking lot, and you can very obviously see that there's no entrance from Mission Blvd itself. The store has its own parking lot and is never full. If you only come one time, I can see how some people can be turned off. I do agree with the fact that some items are very unreasonably overpriced. But I've also found LOTS of gems for dirt cheap. If you're also looking at only one specific section, then you probably will be turned off because I do agree that certain sections are more overpriced than others, particularly certain mens' sections. But the womens' section is not too bad for the most part. I haven't looked at too much else aside from the clothing. The clothing itself is pretty organized and not too messy. The furniture area is a little tight and a little everywhere but I can't fault them too bad because it is a pretty small space. I've never had any issues with any of the employees. I'll get one every now and then that seems completely bored but no one has been rude or disrespectful. read more

Writing reviews for a thrift store is tricky since your experience is largely dependent on the inventory. You can go to a thrift nine times and come out empty-handed, but if on the tenth time you find, say, a vintage, unused Mont Blanc fountain pen (true story) then it's all worth it. There might be buried treasure at Thrift Center, but I will never know because my first trip there will be my only. Customer service here is...lacking. I'm not talking surly, "I'm having a bad day" bad, but the kind of toxic gaslighting that nobody should put up with. After visiting ECOthrift up the road (which I highly recommend), Yelp directed me to Thrift Center. The sign on the front door noted that all Christmas items were 50% off. After perusing the housewares and seasonal items, I found a vintage Christmas swan ornament. It didn't spark any joy for the price tag of $1.99, but at half-off, it sparked enough that I decided to purchase it. While paying at the cash register, it rang up at over $2. Confused, I mentioned how I thought it was half-off. The male cashier "corrected" me and said only yellow and white tags were on sale. I started digging through my purse to find my wallet and then remembered the sign on the front door. Pointing to it, I said, "Sign says half-off Christmas." At this point, he should have acknowledged the mistake and given me the correct price. But, no, this is how the rest of the exchange went: Him: (holding up the ornament) You think this is Christmas stuff? Me: Um, yeah, it's an ornament. Him: (after a pause, he begrudgingly says) I guess I can give it to you at half-off. Seriously?? The sad part is, like I said, the ornament sparked a bit of joy for a buck. One of my favorite thrift stores in Hayward. So far I've had luck with this place. It's always a hit or miss when you go thrifting. Some days I find things that fall under the color sticker discounts and some days I don't. There are some items I do come by that are slightly overpriced but I get lucky and come back on weekends or when they have 50% on everything. The employees here are nice and always greet me when I come in. Bring your own shopping bag if you can. There is a shortage in shopping bags. I've found many items here this past year. My latest come up with these MCM chairs. $20 each plus 30% off this past weekend on everything. I collect Pyrex and vintage kitchen stuff and find things here and there. I did come by some Pyrex last year but was severely damaged so I passed. I have found cute little aprons for my kids and brand new toys and picture frames too. Overall if you are patience and willing to look you might find something. read more

I used to love this thrift store and shop there frequently. Unfortunately, prices have become astronomical, often meeting or even exceeding retail for items that are opened or clearly used. This morning I saw a pack of half used colored paper for $3.99, a broken 4" nutcracker for $5.99, and a pair of pilled and faded children's pajama pants for $5.99. Lego packs have been sold at $7.99 (the same ones are $4.99 new at both Target and Walmart- I looked them up). IF you only need clothing, come on Wednesday mornings when it's 50% off, or just wait for a holiday sale when all merchandise is 50% off. On November 4, I went to this store for the second time and I was treated badly by a cashier with bad manners who is poorly educated because this store hires cheap people who are not even good enough to charge and the worst customer service is this ugly woman who stops Angry Bird is Latina and discriminates against her own race. The truth is that she is ashamed as a human being. Lately, I've finally been checking out places that have been around my entire life. The little one and I dropped by during our errands in my hometown trip. I found a black tee shirt for $1.50(all pink and blue tags were 50% off today) and 7 books for under $10. .Just because you are a thrift store does not mean you can not clean up your shop and spray some fabreeze. When you walk into this store you are immediately greeted with the smell of old stuff. It was a little overwhelming the smell and the store I had trouble deciding on where to start. The store is large and there are some interesting things laying about. As far as thrift stores go it was as organized as it could be. I was surprised at how much I got for $20 i walked out with a huge bag of winter coats and sweaters. I really forgot how much fun thrift store shopping can be. I may go back to this place to see what else I can find but I think I am pretty thrift stored out for awhile after the smell and the kinda shady looking weirdos that work there creeped me out. I love this place! This place is great for clothes, toys, books, and nick nacks. I have been coming here for years. It seems like it under new management meaning there are many new employees. They are so great, though. They smile and greet me as I walk through the door. Because I work with children, I come looking for toys and books all the time. I am always pleasantly surprised by the prices. They have very reasonable prices! I come by and pick up toys and books, then I get to register and they are half off. As for the cashiers: they seem wonderful. The person at the register (whose name I can't remember) noticed that I was purchasing sign language flash cards, and struck up a conversation with me about it. It was really nice. I appreciated the conversation and the great prices. This place is great. I love shopping thrift stores and I will certainly be back soon! read more

Pretty underwhelmed. The pricing is really erratic. Some steals, mostly meh pricing, some legitimately what-the-hell pricing. Most prices were towards the upper end of what I'd be willing to pay or just beyond it. Definitely not the most price competitive thrift store around (I found Eco Thrift a couple miles north to be much better). The merchandising is terrible. They arrange by color, rather than by size, which makes trying to find your size quite the adventure. It has a distrinct thrift store smell to it, which is expected, but the store is legitimately dirty. Oftentimes I don't really mind if my feet touch the ground when I'm trying on pants, even at thrift stores-- here I did my best to stay on top of my shoes. When I carried some clothes over to the fitting room, I looked at my hand and noticed I had some weird black-ish greasy residue from one of the hangers. Ugh. Speaking of workers, I see a lot of complaints about them, but I had no issues with them. They were there, they did their jobs, and they didn't offend me. Not a glowing endorsement, but I didn't mind them. They staple price tags to things. Most times it doesn't damage the clothing because they do it to an interior tag, but I saw one actually going through a leather jacket. That's just not cool. There are finds to be had here I'm sure and I wouldn't mind dropping in from time to time, but even as a pretty avid thrifter who lives less than a half hour away, I wouldn't make a point of coming out here. read more

This is not EcoThrift. But it's still an honest to good thrift store! Crowded aisles, overloaded racks, ladies with boundary issues. There is some dirt cheap things, as well as sale items to look for. They also have some 'nicer" things, with the price tags to match--though I did end up getting one of the fancier dresses, I also picked up an expensive pair of shoes for $7 on sale. They also had a specific color tag 50% off. This was the craziest thrifting experience I've ever had because I legitimately could not go through everything and usually I always do. After going through just the shirts rack I had so much to buy already. As a Muslim woman it's stressful because I wear long sleeves and whenever I go thrift shopping I can never find anything that's cute and long sleeve but that wasn't the case at this thrift store. Only thing I didn't like was the fact that they gave me a trash bag to carry my clothes in because that's a little bit ghetto but honestly I don't want to complain because everything else was perfect.
