    Toys, records, dvd's...

Goodwill, a nonprofit thrift shop, has been here 6 months+. Their biz is to enable persons willing to work to gain work experience to enter the mainstream work force. Haven't been to a Goodwills since pre-pandemic days. This location epitomizes the smaller stores in tune with ditching furniture, bookshelves, bedroom items. Construction on Mission eliminated some parking. Parking in back limited. Donations are accepted in the rear. Was looking for an electrical item. No luck. 1/2 the store is clothes, shoe, etc. the remainder is electronics, toys, books, kitchen & other gadgets, books, records, dvds... Associates are courteous, friendly, ready to assist. Doubtful return.

Came for the 1st time to make a donation & it was super easy. Simply drove up, dropped off items and was offered a receipt. I decided that I would check out the store and went around to come back into the parking lot. The parking lot is really small but at this time, it was empty. The store is clean, well-organized and staff is friendly. Every area is lacking merchandise and mean it's very limited. I think it needs a little time to be known so more donations are made. It was actually nice to shop and not be overwhelmed with so many people.

I realize this is a new location so maybe that explains the relatively small selection of shoes and clothing - very little men's clothes and even less for kids.

I wear layered clothing or leggings and a slim fitting top. The store is well organized and sections are clearly marked. As with many thrift stores there are different colors marked down every day please listen for the announcements or check the board. I would recommend grabbing a cart because last time I went I found quite a bit and was carrying around my treasures. As with thrifting you never know what you are going to discover. The last time I went I came out with two fantastic finds one a H&M black cotton dress suitable for work wear and take you straight into evening or happy hour. The ruffle tiered dress I admit I paid more than I wanted to but Google came to the rescue and I saw several original retail prices and I found it over $ 100.00 brand new so I decided to splurge and purchase the dress. Service I can't comment on because I usually don't ask for help and there is self checkout available. But I don't know if my last encounter with customer service I should be flattered or insulted. I was checking out my items and the lady that was working at the front thought I was stealing my OWN jacket that I came in wearing! I said this jacket is mine check the cameras I was wearing it when I came in here! All in all a great thrift store but give yourself time because there is so much to look at. I find if I give myself time I find more treasures rather than just rushing through. Also, keep your finds close at hand with the case of the orange ruffle dress after people saw me put it on they were asking if I was going to purchase it while I was trying it on! There were people definitely waiting for me to put it down. Good Luck and Happy thrifting

Called this place, man (Roberto or Jesus maybe some other man?) answered, hello. That's it. I ask,…read morewho is this? He replies, who is this... you called me! I said, I'm calling a thrift store and I don't know if this is who you are. He reply Yes. I said as a business you should say hello this the thrift shop to confirm to people you are a business. He replies, you called me! Rude; after I just explained why he needs to act like a professional and reference the business. I tell him I'm not from Hayward and willing to drive there if you would do a quick look to see if you have any CD players and cassette players for a stereo system, not a boom box. He said he thinks he has some. I explain I am willing to drive if he has some, but don't want to if he doesn't. He say, yes I think we have some. I ask will you please confirm and take a look. He says, I'm pretty sure we have them. I ask how much are they. He says they'er not much. I ask again, would you please check and let me know how much. I see these in other thrift shops for $15-20 dollars. He says his aren't that cheap. I ask how much are yours. He replies more that that. I said that doesn't help me. For Pete's sake, you are not working with me at all on anything I ask. You don't let people know your a business when you answer the phone and argue with them about I called you etc. He is not willing to walk over to physically see if he has a cd or cassette player and not willing to tell me how much he charges. I push him again for a price. He says the CD player and cassette players are over $80 each. I say, that's why I'm asking. I don't want to pay that much. He says his have been gone over and work. I said that doesn't matter to me. What ever shop I buy from, they will take it back if it doesn't work, even at $15. He says I knew you didn't want to spend any money that's why I didn't tell you. I said when someone asks for a price, simply tell them. Don't make drama out of it, that's insulting. Then he hangs up on me. Ask yourself, do you want to be treated this way? Shame on him. He wanted to argue with me about everything. I called him back, of course he didn't take the call. I left him a messaging saying he just earned a negative one star on yelp. You brought it on with you bad attitude. I don' know what position Roberto or Jesus or smoother man? has (answering machine message says she is his daughter leaving the recording. I'm assume it's his business.) It's been along time since I've run into a rude business owner. I've only left one other Yelp review and it was 5 starts. Sorry Roberto, you deserve this review to be read by others.

(aka Union City) I finally had the time to check this place out on my lunch break - given, I was in an instant desire to let go & get my hands off of some fresh kicks (Air Jordan 4 Retro Bred ReImagined - sz 10), that I had bought over a ShockDrop from their Nike SNKRS app hat my homie hooked up for me not too long ago! I remember so much back in high school, with my part-time job in the library shelving books, yet I'd fork over almost my entire paycheck to get some J's... but then, it sorta just stopped once I graduated high school & went to college - up 'til I was gettin' into my early twenties, and had phased out of it & moved on to 'grown man shoes', as my best friend would say back in the day not too many years back. Like a saying I once heard in my teens, you gotta know where to "deal with the real" AND having done a smooth transaction with Kyle Goudie (the proprietor of this humble abode of a buy/sell/consignment shop) was definitely a foreal, foreal REAL one! Honest, Legit, and Transparent. Thank you for being friendly & patient - especially for someone like me not having a peer-to-peer mobile payment app that allows users to easily transfer funds from a linked financial institution account to another recipient - I did have PayPal, tho! I originally bought the shoes at a higher price & offered the , but I wasn't trippin' out since it was only a few dollars difference - and with my side hustle as a musician - can't complain to be 'too blessed to be stressed'. #mindfulmatters I definitely recommend ya'll check this local business when you find yourselves on this side of the East Bay!! Don't say I didn't warn you! Once in awhile, you'll find yourselves craving for some fresh kicks, just wanting to browse on some vintage apparel & footwear & other knick knacks, and/or even getting yourself donned in what's "in" to be "it", cuz you know you just can't stay away from being & looking "fit"!
