As a female customer, I've unfortunately had less-than-great experiences elsewhere, so this felt almost surreal in the best way. They walked me through what my car needed, answered every question without condescension, and made sure I felt comfortable with the plan before starting any work. Pricing was fair, turnaround was quick, and the whole process felt smooth and honest. It's rare to find a place that makes you feel both heard and taken care of. Highly recommend.

When I first took my car in, they said it was free diagnostic check and they would let me decide whether I wanted to proceed to repairs. After they kept my car for four days, I decided against the repairs and picked up my car. To my surprise, they said I owed them over $400!!!! I told them I was told the diagnostic check was complimentary, but they demanded I pay that, so I paid it. I took my car elsewhere and with parts and labor, I paid $700. He and his team take service to a another level, far superior to most service in the entire arid Grand Valley, or even Texas for that matter! We, unfortunately, have been to the shop too many times. Actually, that is laughable---Ford and service in the same sentence! Hahahaha!! Chris's prices are extremely reasonable, the work is done on time every time, the team is always extremely personable and welcoming, and the atmosphere is very comfortable. Lino's Automatic Transmission was recommended to me by my "primary auto healthcare provider"…read more(mechanic) -- someone I trust implicitly. Because of the confidence I have in my "PAHCP," I felt comfortable taking my SUV to Lino's. My vehicle had been experiencing a shudder in the transmission -- a lack of smoothness when changing gears. Lino's checked it out and, rather than jumping straight to replacing the torque converter, suggested starting with a transmission fluid change and a high-quality additive. I had already done some online research and asked about a product called Shudder Fixx, but the mechanic explained that it can cause sludge buildup and recommended a better alternative. That's the route we took, and I noticed on the way home the shuddering has completely stopped. While inspecting the vehicle, the mechanic also noticed (and showed me a photo of) a damaged CV joint boot -- it had a hole that would soon cause the joint to lose lubricant and fail. I saw it for myself and agreed it needed replacement, so they handled that repair as well. Lino's is located on 29th Street in McAllen, just north of Business 83. Parking can be a little tight, as the lot is usually full of cars, but you can pull into the first gate and park where possible. After check-in, they'll move your vehicle as needed. The waiting area isn't fancy, but it's clean, air-conditioned, and comfortable, with a TV and remote available. Lino's prices are fair, and their service is honest and professional. I wanted reliable, and that's exactly what I got. I'm very happy with the service I received at Lino's Automatic Transmission and will definitely return if I need transmission work in the future.
