It wasn't "hoppin" like the gallery across the street that was bringing people into their opening with Heinikens, but rather a crowd of art enthusiasts (young and old) that were all up for mingling and good conversation. This place isn't ideal as far as galleries go, but they know how to use their space even though the layout is a bit weird. It felt crunched during the opening so I do suggest going during normal hours (Tues-Sat, 11-6) to view the artwork. As I said - Chris Wright, Joseph Piccillo, and Robert Hendrickson (?) are all on view currently. Magsig focuses on landmarks of NYC while Lyle mixes the nonsensical with everyday life. I love being in New York. I love watching NYC in the movies. I love talking about NYC. I love how Magsig depicted the streets of NYC. One could almost hop right into his paintings. It was like a tour of the city in a confined space. Lyle had a guestbook. I signed in and wrote to him that his art made me feel normal for wanting to eat the soap at Bath & Body Works. It doesn't feel like your typical coffee shop. Local artwork is all over including an art gallery tucked away in the back, you definitely need to check out before exiting. There's plenty of seating whether you're meeting friends, reading a book, or getting some work done. They have Wi-Fi. while we were there, someone was working on a laptop while another person was relaxing with a book. It has a creative, inspiring, and welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile instead of rushing out. If you're in downtown Bridgeport, I definitely recommend stopping by. I wish I would have took advantage of the coupon given to me and took the time to purchase some pumpkins before I left, but I rushed on to their nearby winery before hitting the road home.

Heard about Jones Family Farm on a radio local spotlight for Fathers Day weekend. Normally, we…read morewould go to our normal fruit picking option in Middlefield, but you don't know what you're missing if you don't try new places, right? We pulled up to the entrance and spoke with a friendly gentleman. We found out that normally, you're supposed to book online. Otherwise, you can not pick. They started this during COVID and continued it because it helped them gauge demand, staffing, etc. We weren't aware. So MAKE SURE you do this. The only reason we were able to pick was due to cancelations as the day was "iffy" from a weather standpoint. Pricing: The prices are fair. If you pack your basket tight, it can be close to grocery store pricing, and it gives you that activity to do . They provide you with a sturdy white plastic basket (I felt like Dorothy with no Toto). They have staff everywhere to help direct you toward your correct picking areas. The areas that you can pick that day were clearly marked with a yellow flag. So when we looked across the property, we saw where we needed to go without assistance. When we arrived at the patch, the staff waiting gave our group an entire row from walkway to walkway to pick without interruptions. They let us pick from either side of the row. Note: If you can't find enough strawberries, I'm your row that day. They will let you relocate to another patch section. Now! Down to the important stuff. The strawberries. Can I just say that these were the BEST quality strawberries that I've picked at a "Pick Your Own" in Connecticut, EVER. They had a wide and plentiful selection of full red strawberries of all sizes to pick from the bushes. The bushes were lush and plenty of berries that were growing for later this month. We had no trouble filling 4 baskets full of strawberries in one row. Parking at the location is grass and clearly marked. The bathrooms are portable bathrooms. They don't have a place to eat at the pick your own, but they have a winery down the street if that needs to be part of your trip. Important note: You can't bring outside food to any of the Jones property. We didn't know that (until we saw the big/clear signs) and brought our backpack right back to the car. If you follow the rules, like we did, you will have a great 1 hour - 1 hour and a half picking strawberries. I will be back next year (with a reservation), and I will recommend to anyone not sure of which PYO to go to.

I had the most amazing experience getting tattooed by Frankie! I knew he genuinely cares about his clients because he was able to squeeze me in for an appointment on extremely short notice -- as a college student with a very busy schedule, it wouldn't have been possible for me to get tattooed another time. When I walked into the studio, he instantly created a welcoming and safe environment. I felt really comfortable and knew I could trust him which I think is the most important thing while getting tattooed. I'm so glad he took the time to persuade me to get a bigger tattoo instead of the smaller one I had initially planned because it looks much better this way and would look good for years to come. He cares so much about his craft and clients -- something that was so evident in the way he did my tattoo. He showed me all the different inks he had and told me take my time with the tattoo placement and he even took pictures of the temporary stencil transfer so that I could get an idea of how the tattoo would finally look. The best part about getting tattooed by Frankie was how patient he was throughout. I didn't feel hurried and he made sure I was comfortable and happy with the tattoo I would eventually get. The tattoo procedure itself lasted about ten minutes, was pretty much painless and I felt really safe with Frankie throughout. He explained the aftercare procedure in great detail, too. Overall, it was the best tattoo experience I've had and the tattoo healed really quickly as well. I highly recommend Frankie and I'm so happy with the way my tattoo looks. I can't wait to get more tattoos with him in the future! read more

Frankie has done 4 of my tattoos now and I honestly never want to go to anyone else. I remember being super nervous going for my first tattoo with Frankie as my very first tattoo was done elsewhere and was not a positive experience. Most places are usually a pretty tense environment and not very welcoming, meanwhile Frankie makes sure his studio is the complete opposite of this. He makes sure to chat with you for a bit and get to know you when you first get there, maybe even throw on some tv in the background lol. His studio is not like any other studio either, decorated with his art work, some christmas lights and a whole studio in the front, it's very laid back. Throughout the whole process Frankie takes the time to check in with you. My tattoo on my side killllllled me- probably the first one he would say i couldn't sit like a rock through lol, but he would stop periodically for me and constantly ask if i was okay. I seriously love all my tattoos from Frankie and I've heard him say over and over again that he will never create a tattoo that he wouldn't want himself and I truly know he means that. He will always consult with you before and help create the exact image you have in mind that will work perfectly wherever you choose to place it. Highly recommend him to everyone. read more

The best experience I could have imagined getting my first tattoo came true today at Three Roses Tattoo Studio. The moment i walked in i knew it was going to be a great experience. The environment was more than welcoming. From the cleanliness, to the decor, i was insanely impressed. To top it all off, and probably the most important part was Frankie, the tattoo artist. His personality is authentic, warm, inviting, honest, compassionate, and extremely patient. He made this experience one that my friends and I will never, ever, forget. He thoroughly explained the process and was extremely patient when it came to placement and how we wanted everything. There was no point in which we felt rushed or nervous about getting the tattoo itself. He was extremely relatable, reassuring, funny, friendly, and incredibly talented. We never wanted to leave. I had a great experience working with Frankie. He was very accommodating with my ideas and ended up producing a work of art that I am proud of (and he should be as well). As this was my first tattoo he was very patient and made sure that I was comfortable throughout the process. I'd for sure recommend Frankie for anyone who is looking to get a custom piece as he was very easy to work with throughout the design process. He also seemed very accommodating for less planned tattoos, but I can't speak to that experience. Overall awesome experience and would for sure go back if I get another idea for a tattoo. read more

I so privledged and honored to have her work on me. Her skill is top notch. The sessions were great. I cannot tell you how often I get stopped and complimented and inquired as to who did the work. He has a very laid back energy and it's easy to feel comfortable around him, though I was in pain for about an hour he reassured me how much time was left and when we were almost done. Alex turned my sad little stencil into a gorgeous lifelike creation. The colors are bold and stunning, and the attention to detail is amazing. During the visit we watched movies and chatted about different genres and all things marvel. Such a great relaxed atmosphere the entire time. Highly recommend, and I will be back soon!
