The outdoor patio is pet-friendly, so we were able to enjoy breakfast outside with our dog, Luna. We both had breakfast sandwiches, and they were cooked perfectly. The English muffin was especially good and really made the sandwich. Since we placed a to-go order, we didn't have much interaction with the staff, but everything was ready on time and the overall experience was smooth. We'd definitely recommend it for a quick, delicious breakfast in Telluride.

It was pretty busy for a weekday around 10 a.m., and there seemed to be a constant line of people ordering. I got the breakfast bowl with eggs and summer vegetables, and unfortunately it was pretty disappointing. The veggies had almost no flavor, and there were pieces of asparagus that were so tough and woody I couldn't even chew them. The bowl was also supposed to have sunchokes, but I honestly didn't see or taste any. Overall, it was just very bland. I also ordered a flat white, which had way too much milk and didn't really taste like a flat white. The milk didn't seem properly steamed and it almost tasted like cold/warm milk had just been added to the espresso. The one thing I really enjoyed was the homemade pop tart. That was actually delicious and easily the best thing we had. Overall, I found it pretty pricey, although I know that's somewhat expected in Telluride. For the price, though, I was hoping for much better food and coffee. The pop tart was great, but unfortunately the rest of the breakfast was a miss for me.

When I commented to the manager about what a great store it was, he was very appreciative. I asked him if it was a new store. He said, no. I was so surprised. The only thing that showed the store's age was there were no self check out registers. Regular checkout was speedy and friendly. Anyway, you all know what a grocery store is. 3.5 / 5 Stars -- Outstanding food, but cold counter-service hospitality…read more I recently tried Kami's Samis as part of my journey exploring the Colorado food scene, and the kitchen absolutely knows what it is doing. THE FOOD: The Traditional Breakfast was excellent. The standout element was the bacon--thick-cut, generous, and perfectly cooked. The eggs and potatoes were spot on, and the sourdough was great. I also ordered the kids' French toast sticks, which were made from a great "fat bread," dusted with powdered sugar, and served with 100% pure maple syrup. The cappuccino was also top-tier, with a perfect espresso pull and velvety foam. THE SERVICE & VIBE: While the food justifies the premium price tag ($30 for breakfast), the service infrastructure really lets this place down. You have to look at the menu, order at the counter, and pay/tip upfront before you even sit down. They blame "staff shortages" for why you have to get your own water and eat off paper plates with plastic forks, but for a $30 meal, the all-disposable setup feels cheap. The biggest issue is the hospitality. I wasn't greeted when I walked in because staff were talking to each other. The gentleman taking orders was a bit cold and dismissive. Worse, when I went back up to ask for a second container of maple syrup to finish my French toast, the girl at the counter was visibly annoyed and rude. She told me they would bring it out, but it never arrived. THE BOTTOM LINE: Prompting guests for a 15-20% tip before they even eat completely removes the staff's incentive to take care of you. Go here for the outstanding food, but lower your expectations for the service. Will I tell my friends about this place and go back? I sure will. I'll tell him about how good the food is and about how the service was and about the tipping.
