    Anasazi Beans!! The best!!
    Julie B.

Did I really drive down from Moab just to come here for beans and flour? Yes. Yes I did! Why? Because Anasazi beans are the best and getting them fresh from the source is even better!! I got hooked on these beans after picking them up from a bulk basket at Henie's market near Denver. I also got my youngest hooked on them and have shipped her several pounds worth over the years since I moved here. They really are that good. I know it isn't a convenient place to visit but, if you are in the area visiting Mesa Verde or Canton of the Ancients, I recommend taking the little drive to visit. And you can make the short detour on the way to visit Cortez and the mill there for the flour rather than picking it up here. There's a small shop with beans, beans, and more beans but also, that great red rose and bluebird flour - those sacks are not just for storing the flour you know. They are wildly popular items to buy online to make other goods with. I bought the bluebird to try my hand at Indian fry bread and tortillas. I also picked up a 10 pound bag of beans and yes, the burlap bag was a happy part of that purchase! There also are some additional goodies from sauces, spices and seasonings to honey products and of course, some Adobe Milling merch!

Great store and customer service. Love this place! They have great beans and great variety! Love the free popcorn, too...so good . Bought a lot of beans to bring home from our travels to give to friends and family. I've bought Anasazi beans for many, many years...but have never been to the mother ship....GREAT!

While Alpaca is a staple in South American countries, it is beginning to find a place on the palates of North Americans. It has become available in, still existing, butcher shops for the residential kitchen; and making its way into gourmet restaurants. The Alpaca for Wild Mountain Meats comes from Dorothy's ranch, so are locally bred and raised. The processing is done by Jerry's Custom Meats, located in Helper, Utah; and is certified safe by the State of Utah. Nothing from the Alpacas is wasted; the hides are made into leather goods. On the ranch, the Alpaca are sheared and their wool made into thread for weaving. In February 2015, Dorothy will be opening a new store on Center Street in Monticello, Utah; "Paca Pantry: Everything Alpaca and More". If you happen to be in the Monticello area, come visit the store, or call (435) 419-0750 to arrange a tour of the ranch and get to meet the Alpacas; the babies are adorable! Alpaca sausage; though mainly ground Alpaca meat, there is a mixture of pork and spices added in. The pork absorbs a good amount of the ground black pepper giving it a bit of heat; while the Alpaca maintains its unique sweet flavor.

If you're passionate about high-quality meat and supporting local ranching, Bell Beef Country Store…read moreis the kind of place you'll want to know about. Nestled just north of Cortez, this family-owned country store brings fresh, ranch-to-table beef straight from the pasture to your plate -- and the difference in taste and quality is something you can truly savor. What makes Bell Beef special isn't just the excellent product, but the story and people behind it. This operation grew out of decades of ranching experience, with Scott Bell raising cattle for years and his son Kasey and daughter Raedene, stepping in to help build the business into what it is today. The Bell family's hands-on approach means you're not just buying meat -- you're buying something they're personally proud of. Walking into the store feels like visiting a local favorite rather than a generic market. The selection is impressive: premium cuts, ground beef, steaks, jerky, snack sticks, and even bulk freezer bundles are all available, vacuum-sealed for freshness and convenience. It's obvious a lot of thought goes into every choice on the shelves, and customers often comment on how delicious and rich the flavor is. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, ready to help whether you're picking out something for dinner or planning meals for weeks to come. The community vibe here is strong -- people return again and again because they trust the quality and enjoy the personal touch. If you're in the Cortez area and want beef that tastes like it came straight from the ranch -- because it did -- I highly recommend stopping by Bell Beef. It's a true gem for meat lovers and a great example of local family business done right.

They offer a huge variety of products made with honey, everything from honey butter and wine to syrups and glazes. It's the kind of place where you walk in "just to look" and end up wanting to try everything. The quality and variety really stood out. Beyond the food, the shop is full of charming gifts and décor, adorable bee-themed plaques, kitchen towels, and more. It has that perfect rustic, Colorado feel. What really caught our attention was the outdoor setup. The large honey-dipper-style poles and the big bear statue make it such a cute and memorable spot, perfect for photos. Highly recommend stopping here if you're in the Durango area. It's a sweet little gem (literally)!

You can also buy gift sets of the honeys or make your own set. There are pancake mixes, candy, candles and more! My husband really enjoyed the honey coffee liquor. I Iiked the whipped honey in original, bumbleberry, coffee and more. The hot honey and cherry habanero honey mustard were fantastic. The raw honey was really good and clean too, although I still preferred the wildflower raw honey. If you're ever in the area, come check this place out!
