My wife and I ate there with her sister. One of the reasons I picked this restaurant was that it had gluten free options in their menu. And my wife likes prime rib. Our experience started with the server telling me that he could not tell the chef how I liked my steak. He could only put it in as rare and medium rare. I like my steaks between those two. He put the steak in rare and it was OK, a little less done than I like but good enough. Unfortunately my wife's prime rib was tough. I watched her sawing away at it just to get a piece to eat. I think this restaurant is appropriately rated at 3 stars. We ate dinner here twice while staying in West Yellowstone during a visit to the park. The first night, I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was crispy, yet I found the overall sandwich to be lackluster--especially considering I paid $11 for it. The next day, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and had a better experience, yet the chicken was overly salty. That being said, the fries both nights were stellar. Busy restaurant on Yellowstone Ave; good location, easy to find. The potato skins were delicious. The spaghetti plate was really bland and water down, I wouldn't recommend it at all. The grilled chicken sandwich was just standard quality. My dad got the open faced roast beef, which was served in a generous portion size with salad bar and one other side dish. Overpriced food in general. Our waitress Emma was nice, but I wish she was a little more attentive... Great food and huge portions! I got the roasted chicken (pressure cooker fried) and brought half home to have cold as a picnic lunch tomorrow when we're in Yellowstone. We came here for breakfast and it was really good! They have great omelettes and I highly recommend their biscuits! They are HUGE and fluffy and warm, we even took some extra biscuits to go. The service is really friendly and both times we came here, our waitresses were very attentive and polite. The staff recommended good places to see in Yellowstone park or just nearby. We were so pleased with the Three Bear Restaurant. It was attached to your hotel, the Three Bear Lodge. Breakfast was included with our room. The Baby Bear pancake for kids was big and our kids were thrilled that it was he shape of a bear face. The hot chocolate cake with a tower of whipped cream. They also gave the kids Wiki Stix to play with. These kept out kids occupied all day! The adult meals were big and delicious. I ate breakfast and didn't have to eat again until dinner. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our kids wanted to go back for every meal while we were in West Yellowstone. read more

We didn't like it. My son's prime rib was passable, but not very good. But my wife and I both ordered trout that was virtually inedible (fishy, overcooked.) Slim [metered] pours in the lounge while waiting for a table. The salad bar did have fresh ingredients, but there was a rather limited selection. Wife and I decided to eat here after a very long drive from Wyoming. The restaurant was understaffed, but the gentlemen at the front was nice enough. We were worried about being towed, since we had to park across the street due to the large trailer we were driving, and they were kind enough to contact the owner of the hotel so we wouldn't get towed. With that said - if you are driving an RV, or have a large trailer of any kind, parking nearby the restaurant is nearly impossible. The menu was a bit limited in my opinion, there were roughly 3-4 pasta plates, a handful of burgers, and a few entree's. The decor was very dated and slightly distracting, honestly. The food was very tasty, and came with large portions. I had an angus burger, my wife had a veggie burger, we both had the salad bar. You're only allowed to go to the salad bar once, which we thought was a bit odd, but were pleasantly surprised to find that the burger was huge, and it was impossible to eat all the fries. Waitress was very kind. We had to wait about 10 minutes before sitting, but received our food very promptly after ordering. They have Cholula hot sauce, which was an excellent topper for the burger and fries! All in all, with tip, the meal was $31 for two burgers with fries, and two servings of salad bar. Will certainly return if we are ever in Yellowstone! read more

Mid-week dinner with a group of 4. The table ordered the prime rib and filets. The salad is obviously from a pre-made bag. The huckleberry dressing is unremarkable. The steaks and prime-rib came out room temperature and not warm enough. The bills came out and were wrong. Waiter did not correct and reprint the bills. Instead he calculated the overcharge mistakes and gave us cash to correct. In summary, unremarkable food and even less remarkable service. Try someplace else. read more

Finally got sat, waited another five minutes and when the group that sat at a table after us was greeted by their server and we hadn't even been offered a cup of coffee we left. Service was speedy and friendly, coffee was excellent and the food was good at the start of long days in the park. My family of four (two adults, two kids) ate breakfast here on a Sunday morning before heading home from our vacation. The food isn't bad, but the service is horrible and the place seems dirty. But it wasn't all bad, first the good stuff: We were seated right away by who I assume was the manager or owner (he was in a suit). Food was decent, not great, but better than a hotel continental breakfast. Considering that it's a tourist town the food was not horribly expensive. The kids ordered pancakes which came looking like bears with ears, and nose and chocolate chips for eyes (cute!). I got biscuits and gravy with eggs and hash browns. Not the best I've had, but definitely not the worst. Now the bad, and oh boy is it bad: The decor is dated and he restaurant seems to no be the cleanest. Our tables and menus were sticky. After being seated it took 20 minutes for anyone to notice we were there. The table we were seated at had spilled food under and around the table in the isle that wasn't cleaned up until we were about to leave. When our waitress finally made her way to the table she wasn't friendly. She never made eye contact and gave odd responses to our orders. For example, for drinks we ordered coffee and hot tea. She told us how we could have that if we wanted, but it would take a while to get, especially the tea (hot water and tea bags are difficult to obtain apparently). Literally everyone around us had a different waiter than us and got their food and coffee refilled regularly (apparently he knows the secret coffee and tea hiding spot). He seemed fine. Our waitress was very rarely seen, and the one time she did come back to the table after bringing our food we had to request she refill the coffee. When she finally came back she filled my mug of hot tea with weak coffee and walked away. Great. Guess I didn't want hot tea after all. I didn't notice until she started walking away. I would have said something, but we decided that since we were mostly done eating we would just leave. Next time, I'd eat the hotel continental breakfast. read more

It's been since 1989 and yet the whole family fondly remembers their Apple Brown Betty. We even discussed revisiting Yellowstone just to dine at Three Bears.
