I have been coming here for several years. It has always been good but a few years ago they made some changes,and it is great. Love the people and the service is always perfect with a smile! We just finished what we were hoping would be a quick Sunday lunch after visiting the Peach Park. Instead, we waited almost 30 minutes for 3 orders. The wait staff was pleasant, but not exactly on top of drink, chip and salsa refills. But the most disappointing part of the lunch was the food. My mom had chicken enchiladas, and the chicken was dry. I ordered the "authentic" tacos. You could not mix chicken/beef/pork etc, so I ordered and received 3 carnitas. The meat was fatty and unseasoned, and the only sauce served was so hot that it was inedible for me. My husband ordered some kind of steak cooked on a skewer, and it was tough and likewise unseasoned. We agreed it was the worst Mexican restaurant experience we have had to date. read more

As a Texan traveling for work, I want Mexican food that's good enough for a Texan. It's rare outside Texas and California to get really good Mexican food. This place is amazing. After a BAD experience at one of the other 3 places in town and a so so experience at the other, I didn't have high hopes for this place. I FOUND OUR PLACE! Holy schnikes, is this place good. We've been twice and will come back many times in the next few months we're here in Clanton. The Tacos al Carbon are amazing. I couldn't resist and ordered them "Texas" style, which is just all 3 meats in one, skirt steak, chicken and shrimp, all grilled to perfection. I may not order anything else, it was so good. The carnitas are amazing and the camerones al diablo is my husband's favorite. Try this place you won't regret it, and that's coming from a Longhorn stuck in the Tide. read more

There's bad Mexican food, then there's BAD Mexican food. I travel the US full time, and I'm a Mexican from So Cal. I try to select the best rated Mexican joints in most cities, so I stopped in here to see if Bama had any authentic Mexican food. No. They do not. Bland, boring, and tastless. We were skeptical from the outside however we found a diamond in the rough. Bathrooms very clean which is a good start. Great sweet tea, chips and salsa for starters. Plus you have to get the cheese dip for the kiddos. Food was awesome and only found one hair in the burrito. read more

Food is much more authentic than the largest competitor (which used to be in the same location), and the prices are better as well. Try their fajitas! Wow. We are from Arizona. So we are self-proclaimed "Mexican food snobs." The last thing we expected was amazing mexican food in Alabama. Well, that's exactly what you'll get at Three Amigos. The chips are made fresh every day in-house. The salsa has a good amount of cilantro in it. The chicken fajitas were great. Tender cuts of vehicles and flavorful veggies. I'm a really picky eater, and I mean really. You can hardly even trick me into eating a vegetable, I am much more, entirely, wholeheartedly, a meat/dairy/etc. person. For the longest time I was going somewhere else in town for my Mexican food fix (might I mention it's my favorite type of food, hands down, no questions asked), but then I was introduced to Three Amigos. I'd never even known it existed at the time, but ohhhh boy, it was a game changer. That was about two if not three years ago now. This summer I have travelled across 5 states (safely and responsibly!), including big ole Texas herself, right next to the Mexico border in El Paso, and only one, single, restaurant, has came anywhere close to Three Amigos for me, and it's a little tiny place in Columbus, Georgia. Three Amigos is making top notch food, it is fantastic, their queso is heavenly, their quesadillas are my favorite stress food, their chimichangas are perfection, their enchiladas are to die for. I absolutely cannot praise them enough. There was a time, before I started travelling, when the servers knew me and what I ordered so well that they'd bring me my cheese dip without me even having to ask. I continuously text my mother and tell her, "I really miss Three Amigos" because I've had to move away for college. The Mexican food near my college might as well be comparing water to wine, it's a shame. I'd spend the money on a $100 Uber or Lyft ride just to come back down to my hometown and eat this food. I'd beg multiple family members to come get me and let me stay with them as long as I'd get to eat here. Really, if you're reading the reviews to try to decide if you'll eat here or not, I don't know what more I can say. As far as mexican in Clanton, the best there is. Salsa is always fresh and homeade and the guacamole is always awesome.

Good Mexican food. Generous portions and a friendly staff. Big dining room so hardly ever a wait. Highly recommend.

We used to really enjoy this place! The staff has totally changed. They are not friendly like the ones that used to work there. When we arrived, they seated us, took orders, brought drinks, dip, chips, and the wait was on...like an hour wait. There were only 3 or 4 tables with people so I'm not sure why it took so long. When they brought the food, they put our food on another table with other people which I know your are not supposed to serve to other people. The waiter walked into the kitchen with the plate, turned around and brought me the plate and told me they had made an entirely new plate. I touched the taco, it was cold. I told her it was cold. She said they JUST made it and walked away.... Their dip was watered down... They only think I can say good about the trip is their sweet tea was good. The taco was COLD. I waited an HOUR!!!! Worse service I have ever had. Waitress brought the ticket three times during our meal and we were still ordering items. That was the only time we saw her after ordering. There was a eyelash in the dip. Just asked for it to be replaced and that seemed to much for her to do. I gave up on trying to have a good time and paid the ticket whole ticket which was suppose to be split. I tried explaining my issue to two people and got blank looks and mumbled answers. I asked for the managers name and number I called as soon as I got outside and was told that I had the wrong number. I don't usually do reviews but this was awful. Well, I walked in and didn't know whether or not to seat myself since no one greeted me and there were no signs indicating what to do. I noticed there were two booths that were empty but had dirty plates so I sat at a big table close by. The staff told me they would clean the booth for me. One waiter asked what we would like to drink and then another came by to ask the same. No one ever took our order and never received our drinks. I stopped a waiter to ask him if he were the one that took our drink order and he said no. I said well maybe it was someone else and then he turned around and walked off. I asked if he was going to take my order and he proceeded to keep walking. So after a few more minutes of waiting, I decided to leave. The staff never even noticed I left. read more
