I've shopped at Threads and had a good experience. So I brought a bunch of clothes to consign. I was surprised at their "pay 12 dollars upfront" and "pay $1 per garment that we don't sell" policy. I've consigned elsewhere and have never had to pay extra since they take 60% of selling price. Since I'd spent so much time laundering and ironing my items, I decided to consign, paid the $12 and left. They provide NO copies of the consignment contract for sellers which I thought was very strange and unprofessional. How hard is it to print the agreement in duplicate?! After I left, I sat in my car, feeling uneasy and read these Yelp reviews. My instincts said, "Back out NOW". So I went in, took my clothes and got my fee back. The woman running the store at the time (Red hair) needs some serious customer service training. She doesn't smile, is not at all welcoming and seemed indignant that I questioned company policies. I hope the owner will read this and reevaluate who represents the business. My experience was absolutely off-putting and I won't be back as a customer or seller. read more

I had taken some brand new Jambu knee high leather boots there (too big for me and never worn). They hadn't sold yet so i went back to get them and sell myself. However they were no where to be found and there was no record of them being sold.(so now I'm assuming they were stolen) I spoke with the lady working that day and she said she would check their other store. After some time i went back to see if they had been found, they were not. That day the owner was there. I explained the situation. Her response..."it happens, it's even happened to me". (The boots were worth $100+) She referred to the store agreement contract. I "get" that, however i thought i should have been given something for them as a gesture of good faith. Oh my, I'm not a fan of this company. It baffles me that I have to pay them to sell my clothes. When I did bring in my items, the woman seemed to look down on me for either my choice of apparel or my size. I could care less either way. When my items didn't sell, they called and asked that I come collect them..I never did. They got my non-refundable money to sell MY clothes and it wasn't worth my time for the uncomfortable atmosphere and judgmental eyes. Never again. read more

The lady staff member was not polite and was not willing to help me as the customer. I came in during their "winter sale" for 75% off, and they had two racks with signs on them. I found a shirt on one of the racks, and I was only willing to buy it with the sale. I later checked the receipt, and realized that she had charged me full price. I went back in, and she refused to return it. She said that the sale was not the racks with the sign, but only some of the items with a supposed "pink tag" on them. There was no way for me to know that, as it wasn't written anywhere in the store. In the middle of talking to her, she answered the phone rudely, and allowed us to walk out without any real apology. I am thoroughly disappointed in the quality of this store. The prices are way too high, the policies are ridiculous, and the staff is rude. I would never recommend this store to anyone. read more

I had a pair of practically brand new boots (worn once) to consign and at the end of my contract to pick them up they couldn't find them. The staff was less than helpful to follow up with me to look for them and didn't offer any real apology. I suspect that the boots were shoplifted or they don't keep tract of there inventory too well and can't be bothered. I will never consign with them again! read more

Watch for stains on their clothing! Even though their policy is to only accept "pristine" clothing, there are no returns when they make a mistake and sell you something stained. Not even an "I'm sorry" coupon. And prices are high. In addition, instead of customer service, they tried to convince me the stain wasn't there. My phone flashlight put paid to that notion. Don't waste your time. Most of the clothing shows a lot of wear and prices are way too high. On my most recent trip, I saw a BCBG Maxazria top I had tried on in Nordstrom Rack a few years ago. This place does a great job at selecting really great, stylish pieces. And not once have I ever spotted an item with a problem. They seem to be super picky about item condition, which means more great finds for all of us! I don't recall ever leaving here empty-handed. Such a cute and organized shop, I really can't say enough to recommend this consignment shop to others. read more

I gave one star because I couldn't give ZERO!! These people are rude, they act as if they are doing YOU a favor while we are doing them a favor by keeping them in business, which I am totally mystified they can stay in business with how they treat customers. If I could take back the day I consigned with this company and my 12.00 I would. After my initial consignment, I called three weeks later to see if I had any funds available, the person on the phone made me feel like I was bothering her, ummmm it's MY money and how else would I find out this information besides making a trip to the store to be treated rude in person? The two separate days I drove to the store to pick up my funds and to drop off more items for consignment I was told the first time "I am out of hangers, can you come back another day and have your items on hangers?" from the look of shock on my face she then said, "Well I guess I can still go thru your items if you insist..." I said "Why would I have you do that now, so you can halfa%* look at them and not take them?" I grabbed my things and left. The second time I went back to the store to take my items in for consignment, a different person said "Look behind me, I still have to hang all of this stuff, can you come back in a few days?" I said "Wow, this is the SECOND time I attempted to drop off items and was told that it wasn't an convenient time for YOU!" I have found the staff to be less than friendly. Also, have had some negative experiences consigning stuff. They give you three months for your stuff to sell, or you can pick it up or agree to let them donate it. The first time I consigned stuff, I agreed to let them donate the unsold items. One garment didn't sell by the expiration date, but there it was on the racks four months later, and now if it sold, I wasn't going to get anything for it. So where was their motivation to sell it, when I could have gotten something? The next time I consigned there, I decided that I would pick up the unsold garments. As usual they say they will hold on to your stuff for three months. But I got a call saying that the stuff I brought them was dated and I could pick it up. OK. I can understand that, but I got the call over two weeks after I had dropped the stuff off. And the owner was just now getting around to looking at it? So if the stuff had been OK to sell, it still would have gotten onto the racks over two weeks into the three month period. So in reality, it would have only been available for consignment for a little over two months, not three. I think their business practices and the way they represent themselves are at odds. I will not patronize them again.l read more
