Sales - (5/5 Excellent) Service - (2/5 Below Average) This year I purchased both a Triumph Scrambler and an Aprilia Tuareg 660 Rally from this dealership. Here's my honest review of their Sales and Service Departments: Sales: Brandon was outstanding to work with -- professional, honest, and great with communication. He kept me updated on the progress of my special-order Aprilia and honored a competitive price match on my Triumph. The Finance Department was equally efficient and transparent. There were no high-pressure add-ons or upselling tactics, and both purchases were completed in about 30 minutes each. I truly appreciated how simple and straightforward the entire sales experience was. Service: Unfortunately, the Service Department was a completely different experience. For my Triumph's first service, I needed a broken bolt removed to replace both clutch and brake levers, and to have the service wrench light reset. I was charged 1.5 hours of labor for a task that typically takes 15 minutes. The service light wasn't reset, and when I picked up the bike, the seat wasn't properly latched -- something I luckily noticed before transporting it home. For my Aprilia's first service, I scheduled the work to include installation of the quick shifter and heated grips. The total cost was around $1,000. Despite having an appointment and being told the bike would be ready by the end of the day, I was later informed it hadn't even been touched. When I returned the next day -- a four-hour round trip costing roughly $100 in gas -- I was told the bike was "done," only to be informed in person that a technician smelled a burnt-clutch odor in the oil and suggested I leave it for further inspection. No details, no follow-up plan, and no quick diagnostic -- just a vague recommendation to spend more money on a new evaluation. When I asked if a simple clutch test was performed, I was told they were "too busy." At that point, it was clear my time and investment weren't valued. I chose not to authorize more labor for a potential warranty issue, and decided I won't be returning for future service. Positive Note: Izzy, who works the service counter, deserves recognition -- always polite, professional, and genuinely helpful. Final Thoughts: Customers expect to build trust and confidence with a dealership's service department. Unfortunately, I left with neither. While the Sales Team was excellent, my experiences with Service -- especially with technician Eric -- were disappointing and have completely eroded my confidence in their operation. I ended up calling again and spoke with Isaac, who confirmed the E2 was listed at $1,999. I said yes, that's what I'm calling about. He offered to give me an out-the-door price. That number came back at $2,864.77. When I asked for a breakdown, I was told: $300 freight $199 dealer prep ~$200 tax $180 in "other fees" (which he couldn't clearly explain) Despite all that, I was still ready to move forward and offered to pay with my debit card -- only to be told there's another fee for that. Now the total jumped to $2,944.98. Then comes the real kicker: the bike has a large scratch on the fender, which is apparently why it's on "sale." Between the lack of follow-up, vague fees, surprise payment charges, and undisclosed damage, this felt like a straight money grab. Definitely recommend steering clear. read more

I went to TOPS to look at and buy a new/old stock KTM 1290 SDGT they had on ad for $12,999 the bike was in the showroom and had a couple issues like missing pin number and clutch not engaging. Not a big deal as I knew it would be repaired. I spoke to salesman #1 Melvin and asked about pricing and added fees, his response was on this bike the price was the advertise price plus tax and license, I asked for an out the door price and it was more than the advertise price tax and license. I inquired about the extra fees and he said there was a prep fee added to the price....enter salesman #2 Jason who was listening to the conversation and joined in that Melvin was wrong and the price was indeed advertise price plus tax and license... I said great what's the OTD price? Then Melvin and Jason couldn't agree on how to work out the OTD price. Enter salesman #3 Carlos who sat down, worked out a OTD price of $18k including advertise, price, tax license, destination, dealer prep, and anything else you could throw on. That's when the arguments started between the salesman while I'm standing there these guys are going at it about the price and what's going on, I put in and asked for a manager. Their response was there is no manager there. They're all the manager. I say when you guys figure it out..call me and I walk out, never to hear from anyone from the store. I own three motorcycles and live in the area and have been in that store numerous times to look at and buy a motorcycle and every time I walk out very unhappy with how they do business. Terrible service. You must have a Green Card to even try to finance anything with them. I went in looking to finance a ZX6R they had listed for over $14,500. I had $7,000 ready as a down payment, and I was also planning to trade in my Ninja Kawasaki 400 EX. My credit score was between 650-670, and they ran my credit without telling me that you must be a U.S. permanent resident to qualify. It doesn't matter if you have a visa, a work permit, or a Social Security Number, if you're not a Green Card holder, they won't approve you. I was denied simply for not being a permanent resident. The person who helped me was named "Elizabeth." I ended up wasting my time and hurting my credit score for absolutely nothing. read more

I made an appointment and true to my nature as a North East native, I arrived early. The staff here helped remind me that we dont do that here in California by holding an in depth conversation about the most ideal quantity of tacos to eat for lunch in various circumstances. Once the staff had reached the traditional 25-30 minutes late mark, they ushered me to their service staff, whom I was assured could perform the relatively simple task of replacing a tire. A rather dim-witted gentleman eventually gained sufficient cognitive traction to understand that I had an appointment to inspect and perhaps even replace a tire. It took a few tries, but eventually I think he was able to write down the name of the manufacturer. It took three repetitions of the name, not including the one additional time where I spelled out the letters phonetically. Navigating around some additional small talk which seems to be the norm here for people with time to waste, we eventually got around to actually inspecting the tire. Once I had successfully persuaded the chromosomally abundant person that the tire was, indeed, flat and was likely rendered into this state through some irreparable damage to its integrity my spirits were high. I had hope. Alas, hope is all too often the first step to disappointment. Upon further review, the gentleman attempted to inform of the results of his diagnostic inspection via my telephone. Ten digits was entirely too much, however, to handle, and after a rather patient wait I simply approached him and asked about it. He informed me he the tire needed replacement but did not know how to order the tire. I swiftly departed through the blizzard of red flags and sought a dealer licensed maintenance facility. 2/10 The shops best feature is the astro-turf out front. read more

Well, it happened, it's finally happened. Luis and Mike made me a deal that I could not refuse. Just picked up my 2025 Yamaha MT-09 from TO Power Sports and in LOVE. Mike and Luis had been patient (understatement) with me over the past year, and glad it happened now with the 2025. Continuous follow up, professionalism, knowledge, Luis knows what he is doing and has to patience to stick with you without being pushy. Mary in Finance was beyond awesome, fun and funny to work with. Great team, great deal and hands down a great experience. Downside, and something that has left a little perturbed with a place that sells performance bikes like Yamaha, Aprilia, etc. I asked the Tech if we could setup a fitting to FIT and ADJUST the bike to ME and dial in the suspension. The Tech looked at me confused and asked "what do you mean FIT and ADJUST the bike to YOU, and adjust your suspension...? I am not sure what you are asking me to do..." You're a technician, at a motorcycle shop, and fitting and adjusting a motorcycle, as well as adjusting the suspension to a rider is not just needed, BUT a safety issue as well as a bike with ride/handle differently based on inseam, height, reach and WEIGHT!!! I've had work done on several of my Vespa's at TOPS and from the friendly, welcoming warm personalities to their gracious willingness to pick up my vehicles from my house, to the reasonably priced service and professionally complete work, everything is top notch. Just had my Vespa returned to me from T. O. Powersports, Courtney in service was fantastic to work with and handled my service with great customer service. During the service and changing of tires and a front shock they noticed that my "EFI" light was coming on and restricting acceleration, they did not have the equipment to diagnose and took it to a Vespa dealer. They discovered the issue and as it wasn't doing that before I brought it in.. they directed the Vespa dealer to correct the issue and they covered the additional cost as well as transporting the Vespa to LA and back to me. Even though they are no longer a Vespa dealer I will continue to take my Vespa there for service. After removing some covers, come to find out the service department completely forgot to install the cap on the reservoir! Thankfully I wasn't on a long ride or this could've been extremely dangerous as coolant is very slippery. Easy in Easy Out ! I recently bought a new Triumph from the fine folks @ TOPS it's always a nerve racking situation buying a new car, motorcycles and rocket ships ! I first called and got Christian on the line, he was chill, not pushy, got me some basic numbers and that was it. I liked the fact that I wasn't being "sold" just a dude helping another. Once I decide what I wanted and what I wanted to pay, I went in and told them and POW ! they said ok, they could do that and that was it, the deal was done ! Simple no bull shit, no games. Mark the money man was chill and cool, again no games or run around ! I liked the folks there, the store is clean, organized and open. If I had one criticism or one thing I was not super pleased about it would be that I used a credit card to put half the $$$ of the bike on a VISA card and unfortunately for VISA / MASTERCARD they charge an extra 2.5% fee to the dealer so the dealer in return charges the customer ( I guess thats how it works) its apparently only for large purchases (Like a bike) and to use an AMEX card the % is even higher I think like 6.5% (but I'm not 100% sure). Sure its sucks that these credit card companies charge the stores but charging it back to the customer just blows. In my case it wasn't a deal breaker, and the guys at the store and the overall experience was solid, so I didn't make a big deal about the additional % charge to my card. That's it ! Thousand Oaks Powersports service department is incredibly corrupt. This is not only from my own personal experience, but many others I know have had similarly bad experiences. I recently brought in my bike because it wouldn't start. The service department decided it was best to replace the battery. After some time in the shop, they told me that the stator, regulator, and rectifier needed to be replaced as well. I decided to order the part myself to see if there was really an issue and what they were saying was legit. After taking apart those components myself, I found that nothing was wrong. I had made a point to ask if they were absolutely sure this was a problem, and the mechanic looked at me straight in the face and said yes. This is not the first time I have seen/heard of dishonesty with their service department. If you do not being lied to and scammed, I would avoid this corrupt and deceitful motorcycle shop. read more

I really just wanted a chain for a stock CRF 70. No big ask but they didn't have one which would've been fine but instead of saying that they told me that all chains come in long lengths and need to be cut. I was surprised to hear that but asked if their shop could cut it to length for me. Salesperson said sure so I paid for the $58 dollar chain. That's right, $58 dollars for a chain but I was willing to get gouged a bit. Then, the shop tells me that they will charge me $50 dollars to cut the chain to size but they need the original chain so that they can count the links. Again, stock CRF 70. So now this chain will cost me $108 total plus tax. I chose not to cut this chain as I started to feel very anxious as this appears to be way too much hassle and money. I went home with my uncut chain and searched the internet. Well, they sell chains for CRF 70s for $20 dollars and they are already exactly the size needed. 86 links for a CRF 70 by the way. I didn't think I would ever really need to know that as I just wanted to buy a chain and fix my kids bike. So, I bought a chain on Amazon and went back to return the uncut chain. Unfortunately, they do not refund and only give store credit. I ask where does it say this as I do not see signs explaining this. The Manager says to me that it explains it on the receipt. I respond to him by saying that I can't see the conditions of purchase on a receipt until after I buy something? He looks puzzled and says "you got a point." Bottom line here is that the sales person sold me the incorrect and overpriced part, the shop was going to charge me money to modify the incorrect and overpriced part and the manager wanted me to keep the incorrect and overpriced part. The manager gave me store credit but unfortunately I really just wanted a chain for a stock CRF 70. read more

The sale price was $3500 off and after all the fees and mark ups it went back up close to $3000. I understand charging for taxes (9.5%) factory freight ($400-$500) and the cost to build the bike however all the fees shouldn't have been more than $1,500, when I asked Christian Hodges VIA email and another worker VIA phone call for an itemization of the OTD price they never responded back or provided the info, I just wanted to know where was the additional fees are being applied to since the numbers weren't making sense. read more
