She's professional, gives great advice/suggestions, and is always in contact with you. Most recently I worked with Anthony and my experience was just as great. Anthony is communicative and responsive- all things that you want when you are looking to rent your apartment out! He was always there to answer questions via email and phone and gave great input/advice/suggestions when asked. Renting units can be a hassle at times, but working with Anthony and Streeterville Realty makes it as painless as possible. I can't see anyone looking to a different group to help with their real estate needs.

I had two prior management companies and they failed to meet the needs of the renters As my sellers agent chris did everything. I sold my two bedroom condo in Lincoln park within 45 days. We had multiple showings each week. He worked with the renters and made sure that the place was in show condition. Chris made sure it was show ready. He cleaned up, lit candles, aired out the baby and dog smells. He also found a lawyer for the sale and the closing was seem less Amazing communication, pleasant to work with, a fantastic experience. I wish he worked where I live now in Wisconsin.

That did not always happen in a good way with the GenRealty team - they were, more often than not, slow to respond to our requests and, even when waiting on a response from the property owner, the team would not provide even perfunctory updates (e.g. "still waiting on update from owner. stay tuned. thanks for your patience"). Instead, they would go radio silent. They do not frequently answer their phone and prefer to have all their communications in written form, which can be frustrating when you just want to have a 5-minute check-in on open items. The owners of our particular unit tended not to accommodate our requests, and I think they tried to negotiate with them to meet our needs. Customer service and timeliness, while not legally required, are really important in property management. I think GenRealty did things because they were required to (e.g. legal compliance, the "rules"), but I think they struggled with the nice to haves (e.g. customer service, responsiveness, open communication). They have beautiful properties on offer and we LOVED the apartment we rented from them. But based on my what I like in a property manager, I would not recommend them.

She then stopped the conversation and wouldn't let me ask any questions but just keep telling me - talking over me - that I had to have my own agent call to inquire as "they don't want to stop on toes". That makes no sense at all. She just wasn't getting my commission and so she didn't want to talk to me. Sadly, she isn't event the one losing a commission as Adam Wavrunek wrote this listing. However, I was unable to even reach him as this rude employee basically talked over me, wouldn't let me get a word in, and offered me a "have a nice day" and hung up!

Elevators are frequently out of service, which becomes more than an inconvenience in a multi-floor property. There have been extended periods without hot water -- at one point lasting nearly a week -- with limited communication or clear timelines for resolution. Access control has also been unreliable. Key fobs have malfunctioned at entry points, locking residents out despite active credentials. Plumbing issues have been another recurring problem, adding to the overall sense that preventative maintenance is not a priority. What's most frustrating isn't just the issues themselves -- things break in any building -- it's the pattern. The problems feel reactive rather than proactively managed, and communication from management does little to inspire confidence. Residents deserve consistent access, functioning utilities, and transparent updates when things go wrong. Unfortunately, that has not been the experience here.
