Recently had the terrible misfortune of working with Streeterville Realty- Haroon, on a transaction where they represented the sellers. The experience was terrible from start to finish. Haroon was consistently unprofessional, unresponsive and in several instances lacked integrity. He seemed to not have basic understandings of how real estate transactions and contracts worked. They will try to take advantage of you once you sign the lease and want nothing to do with you if you're having issues with the owner. Once you sign..you're on your own... They don't disclose information to you from the get go and then turn around and try to charge you for things you were not aware of. They DON'T abide by what the lease states, only if it benefits them. It's a LEGAL binding contract you morons!!! . Get everything in writing if you must use this company and take photos of every square inch of the unit BEFORE you move in as they will try to blame you if something is already broken prior to moving in or breaks while your living in the unit due to no fault of your own. (The appliances are old as the building and they just don't get that, nor do they care) This is just another way for them to justify taking money from you. I've spoken with other people who have used them as well and experienced similar problems. They're not even accredited by the BBB. Prob. because of their shady practices but thank goodness for good old YELP :) Oh yeah and the owner Haroon thinks he's a real smooth talker....it's quite comical as he is so transparent..SO Arrogant. DON'T BELIEVE A WORD THAT COMES OUT OF HIS MOUTH--- EVER! Anything that he says he'll do, GET IT IN WRITING because he will not follow through and stick to his word. My experience moving in to a new place managed by Streeterville was absolutely terrible. They promised me a parking spot for a certain price, then when I got here, increased it, and here I was stuck with a car. They also told me that me trying to get what I deserved was "too much" and I "wasn't worth it." They didn't replace light bulbs that were broken when I moved in. They never placed the order for the new blinds that were promised in my lease. They don't own up to their mistakes, which is the worst part. I hired Haroon Khan to rent out my unit. He was not honest and mostly looked out for his own interests. He only showed the unit to tenants who would not stay more than one year, so that he could earn another commission in twelve months. He also lied to me about their incomes so I would lower the rental price, which made his job easier and barely affected his commission. Not recommended. read more

Anthony Garcia (from Streeterville Realty) is AMAZING! When I started my apartment hunt in Chicago I was beyond overwhelmed; there were way too many options on the market and it was hard gauge what would be a good fit. I went for a 3 day visit to Chicago to view apartments. On the first day, my friends that live there and I arranged a few showings; this was a disaster and very discouraging. The brokers and realtors I encountered on this first day were pushy and/or showing things that were a complete mismatch (I even had a leasing agent at an expensive apartment complex badger me with texts when I said I wasn't interested in the apartment). This first day experience was so discouraging (and I learned the lesson that you need to be careful with brokers/realtors/leasing agents). Then, during the 2nd and 3rd day, Anthony showed me several places. Prior to this, Anthony had called me to get a sense of what I was looking for; I felt like I didn't tell him much (partly because I was pretty inconsistent and unsure of what I wanted) but he was able to read between the lines and work really well with the limited information I provided. "Immense relief" doesn't even begin to describe what I felt after Anthony took me around. Almost every single place he showed me matched what I needed (and several places included things I didn't even realize I wanted). I had a notebook and printout full of questions I organized for each place I visited, but Anthony also made sure to ask several additional questions that I might have missed. Anthony was also good about taking notes and not displaying any strong opinions about any of the places at the beginning of the search; he simply inquired about my thoughts after each showing and took note. It wasn't until the end where we openly discussed the pros/cons of my top choices. One thing I really appreciated was that I did not feel like Anthony pushed a more expensive place on me (which I noticed other brokers do). After talking to Anthony, I narrowed down my choices to 3 apartments and on my own I picked my final choice. I'm really happy with my choice and relieved that I was able to find something in my budget that goes above and beyond my needs! read more

My agent was Anthony Garcia. He dealt with me on very short notice and met with me right after new year's to take me to see a number of condos he had helped me pick out. When I presented options from Zillow he happily added them to the list of places to show me despite the fact that these apartment buildings wouldn't pay him should I decide to sign a lease with them instead of with a place he showed me. He was very easy to deal with and extremely helpful with the small window of time I had for my relocation from Detroit. When it came down to signing and turning in the lease, the landlord's agent was slacking and Anthony took it upon himself to do the other agent's job to ensure that the paperwork was received by the office of the building I was moving into. Anthony wasn't aware of this, but I have multiple close friends that are agents in Chicago, and even with taking that into consideration, I wouldn't hesitate to work with him again. Before you sign the lease, they are very nice to you. After you signed a lease with them, they treat you very badly. I signed a 12-month lease and after I moved out from my apartment, although I cleaned the unit professional, they still find very ridiculous excuse to keep my security deposit. They block my calls and won't reply to my emails. Disengaged and won't give me my money back. Very unprofessional. Anthony Garcia is the agent that I deal with. Very frustrating experience. Please do not rent from the agency, because you will never get your security deposit back! read more
