I've had two appointments with Dr Osler and both times he's been amazing. The appointments are…read moremuch longer than I expect 'cause he takes the time to carry out the tests properly, not just stop when the hour is up. When I first saw him, my prescription was too strong and I didn't even know I had an astigmatism. Turns out it was both eyes! Dr Osler was able to find the perfect prescription that works for distance and also for reading and computer use, though don't ask me to explain 'cause I couldn't. Although when he explained it made perfect sense, I should have just recorded it. While waiting for drops to kick in and dilate my pupils, mid-way through the appointment, we had great conversation (and coffee during the last visit) that was worth the trip. While I'm there I always wish I was better at school and could go back and do things over and become an Optometrist. That's how great he is at what he does and how reverent he is about his profession, that it rubs off on you.

The glasses here are quadruple the price of online glasses like KITS at nearly $1000 (or would be over $1000 if they didn't give me the 15% off for getting the eye exam there). Insurance only covers $500. But overall, I'm happy with how they look and feel.

She is very patient and has a cheerful personality which puts a BIG smile on my face during my visit :) I felt very at ease in her hands. Staff was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable - overall, a very pleasant experience, thank you :) During the comprehensive eye examination, I got my pupils dilated. Be sure to bring a pair of sunglasses with you if you're driving - you will be sensitive to lights! Or you can purchase a fashionable pair in their dispensary. The clinic carries a great selection of brand name eyewear and sunglasses! We also did something called Optomap wide-field retinal scan, which carefully and thoroughly checks the inside of the eye for any hidden eye diseases, monitors suspicious areas and changes from year to year, and confirms that everything is healthy! During the visit, I also learned that Dr. Tang specializes in contact lens wear, LASIK consultation, and Ortho-K (AOK) overnight corrective contact lens for myopia control in children. You can also make an appointment online anytime using their real-time schedule - very convenient and easy to use. I went to a trendy DT Toronto spot for my glasses and while the styles were great and the service was thorough, there was a disconnect with me having to go somewhere else to get my eyes tested before choosing my frames and lenses - a Wal-mart no less. I walked in and wanted to ask about the headaches I'd been having since getting my new glasses and Dr. Allyson took my glasses and ran them under a special machine to examine exactly what my prescription was and what they were comprised of. Thankfully everything checked out and Dr. A explained that because this was a slightly stronger prescription than I was used to that headaches were normal and to be expected. While I was happy with the individual service I received from both the Wal-mart optometrist and the store I purchased my glasses at, I think in future I would prefer to visit Dr. Allyson so I know that every part of my experience is in-house at one location. I hope that through my experience, that you run your business with great customer service. That the people on the floor don't make up poor excuses for your mistakes and that the owner/woman who treated me so awful the second time i came in doesn't do it again. Then they retested with another woman, who gave me attitude, trying to defend the other optometrist. I didn't even bitch at them about it, just wanted the right prescription. She proceeded to say how I was new to wearing glasses? I'm in my 50's and have been wearing glasses (prescribed reading glasses) since I was 27 and distance glasses since I was 44. This place reminds me of the store 3 for 1, who was taken to court and the owner fined a fortune for giving prescriptions without a certified optometrist. All their stores closed for good reason. If you want a deal on glasses that's fine, but don't risk your eye sight getting tested here, go to a proper optometrist first, then bring in your prescription. Honestly, you get what you pay for in places like this. Here is a tip to the actual owner - Treat your customers with respect. If your optometrist prescribes the wrong prescription, own it and apologize, that goes a LONG way. When you treat someone badly, you end up getting poor reviews from customers and customers are what make your business thrive.

It is conveniently located at the corner of Markham Road & 16th Avenue. With all the traffic going on at that intersection, you can't miss it while you're waiting for the light to change. Even better for me, it was a very short 7-8 minute drive from my house. I called to see if i could get an appointment the next day. Thankfully, they were able to get me in within the hour. A few things that really stood out for me about Heritage Eye Care: They are open evening & weekends (10-3 on Saturday's!), conveniently located near transit, kid friendly and up to date equipment that my former eye doctor wasn't even using yet because she was so old school. The Optometrist I saw (Dr. Trinh) was very professional, informative and gave me some very helpful and crucial information for eye care. I ended up having to go to a hospital to see an Opthalmologist. He didn't just suggest MSH, but he referred me to one where i could get in immediately to have my eye concerns addressed immediately. For that i am so thankful (I called to thank them!). I no longer go to my Optometrist in North York and will be switching my hubby & kids over to Heritage Eye Care. **Yes, parking can be a bit of a problem, but The Garden Basket Plaza is across the street with a lot of parking spaces**

The ladies in the reception acknowledge me as I walked in and guided me through right away. The appointment was on time. Price was average to me. Dr Trinh was the one who took care of me and he was very patient. I asked him many eye related questions and he would answer them all. That is the reason why I went back when my eye was not feeling well few weeks ago and also had my eye exam done there last week. I highly recommend this place! The only con is the location as it is located right on Markham Rd and 16th, it can be hard to get in during rush hour as traffic is very busy.
