Pick from a variety of private buildings at different price points (though all are pricey compared to typical hotels) and enjoy peace and quiet while secluded in your private abode. I stayed with my wife at a deluxe cabin. We got in late at night, and with online check-in, we simply went directly into our cabin. The only time we interacted with a staff member was when they brought our breakfast in the morning. Every other interaction is done online or from outside your room. Accommodations are clean and modern. Despite the small space, there was a massive shower, a hot tub placed in the middle of the cabin which faced a huge TV and couch, a dining table, mini-fridge, and plenty of charging ports. The bed is on a second floor, which makes it a bit tricky to get to the bathroom downstairs at night, but Arrowhead thought ahead with stairs that light up automatically at night. The atmosphere both inside and outside our cabin was romantic, with plenty of bird and squirrel feeders to attract cute wildlife. Arrowhead is an expensive but worth it treat for lovers young and old.

Now....on to the best part....the Breakfast part of Bed & Breakfast! They switch each day between a savory and sweet meal, that is first accompanied with fresh fruit and pastry! The first morning we had a lovely egg and cheese quiche accompanied with little chicken sausages and a fresh cup of coffee/orange juice! The second morning, we had a French toast bake with a different type of sausage, and the third morning we had a scramble egg with asparagus and those little chicken sausages again....which was all delightful! For three nights, we spent upwards of $600 and the location is near Durham city center with fabulous restaurants and night scene! Quality: 4.5/5 Customer Service: 4/5 Value for cost: 4.5/5

The winery itself is beautiful, with comfortable and inviting surroundings that make it easy to relax and stay awhile. They also have delicious food made on site, including pizza, and live music that creates a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Another special part of the experience is the historic tunnel nearby, which can be reached by walking or driving and adds an interesting piece of history to the visit. The personnel are incredibly friendly and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. Between the beautiful grounds, animals, wine, food, music, and history, Tunnel Creek Winery is definitely worth a visit!

The perfect setting for an intimate dinner. Started with an appetizer of crab salad atop a round of crisped chicken skin. As with all the courses this one was beautifully presented, atop a upside down tumbler which encased a red rose. A nice romantic touch. Next, an appetizer of beets, strawberry, rhubard. The maple syrup infused beets were the perfect balance to the strawbs and 'barb. Sweet, tart and earthy with a sprinkling of greens on top. On to the tuna. Three slices of ahi are served topped with slivers of manzano pepper, crunchy garlic slices and adorned with cilantro greens. Manzano adds a touch of heat, garlic a little spice. The tuna is fresh, moist and slightly sweet and is enhanced by the unique crunch of cilantro. Wow! Another perfectly balanced taste. My favorite of the evening was the agnolotti stuffed with turkey and corn. Chef's prep of the agnolotti was dumpling size, stuffed with scrumptious rich and flavorful smoked turkey neck. The agnolotti was served in a pool of parm butter sauce, adorned by small slices of char grilled corn. This one has all the flavors and textures going at once. Sweet, creamy, smoky. I could have eaten 3 servings! But wait - there's more! A plump chicken breast, sous vide to perfection - moist and tender. It's served atop a mound of coconut butter beans and sauced with an arc of sweet squash puree and an arc of earthy, garlicky chimichurri. The art of this one is to get a taste of all of the ingredients in each bite. The combination is sublime. For dessert, a wonderful earl gray tiramisu. The tea is a great foil to the sweet whipped cream on top (or was is mascarpone??). Hiding under the tiramisu is a taste of red berry jam to add some fruity sweetness. It's served next to a dollop of roasted vanilla gelato, atop some crunchy chocolate crumbles. The ideal finale to a scrumptious meal. I cannot recommend Chef Farrington more. I forgot to do a few things like print a photo for the card box - Melissa was there to take care of it; we were late & were bringing some of the decor, so it was late - Melissa took care of it. I didn't want to have to make anymore decisions the day of so - Melissa & a family friend coordinated everything. So, I felt like I needed to leave just a bit more for any future brides. I was a stress ball & throughout the whole day I must say Melissa really came through. I can only imagine how stressful it must be to host a big lavish wedding, so her carrying the burden of my stress & her own was very appreciated!!! While eating, they had a music Bingo game. A majority of people were singing along to the music clips, even the presenter. The main foyer (everything is indoors) reminds me of a small town square. Looking around, there's a red dragon over the entrance to the Crazy Dragon and a green dragon that moves on the other side. All it's missing is a wishing well! We also noticed a sizeable bowling alley, roller skating rink, movie theater, arcade, and probably more that we forgot. They advertise several events for the community and seem to be well-connected to it. This may be the best family entertainment center I've ever seen.

You have to buy a card to play the games and the machine was confusing, even with asking a couple people buying one. Of course there wasn't an employee anywhere inside to ask for assistance, but we finally figured it out. Unless you want to play shoot em up games, most of what they have is for kids, incl a very short whack a mole game. We did play a pinball game that frequently shouted, well that's a real cow pie shot, or something to that effect! We personally have gay friends but we believe their behavior is a sin. I am a sinner and I believe we should love the sinner and hate the sin. The current law allows gay couples to marry. I think gay couples should respect the beliefs of others just as they want to be respected. " Clearly, they don't want to come right out and say we are not welcome, but they made it clear. Nowhere in my initial email was I disrespectful to them, so I'm not sure whey they felt the need to point out that we needed to respect their beliefs. A simple, "We can not accommodate your request at this time," would have been fine. We were not asking them to officiate our wedding. We were asking them if they would do their jobs as business owners, take our money, host our event, and keep their personal opinions to themselves. How their religious beliefs impact their business I don't really understand. It is really too bad, because as I mentioned, this venue looks absolutely gorgeous. However after the rude and frankly condescending email back, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I suggest those who support marriage equality do not support this highly unprofessional business.
