I can't say enough great things about this Aveda salon. From the moment you walk in , the atmosphere is welcoming , and you know you're in good hands. I've had my hair done by 3 different stylists here, and each one has been incredibly skilled, knowledgeable, and attentive. Most recently, I went from brown to red, and the results exceeded my expectations. The color is vibrant, rich, and exactly what I envisioned. The stylist here truly understand color theory, and take the time to ensure your hair stays healthy throughout the process plus using Aveda products makes such a difference. I have been a Thompson's client for over 15 years and I am always happy with the fabulous service I receive. Whether I go to Maria, Eva, or the owner Robin Thompson I walk out the door happy with the cut, the color, and the blow out! Their goal is to make the customer happy and everyone takes great pride in their work. This is a hidden gem among the numerous salons available. They care so much about their clients that they are open to regulars on Christmas Eve until early afternoon! My friends are jealous every Christmas Eve when I tell them I treat myself to a blowout for the holiday at noon on Christmas Eve! I HIGHLY recommend! read more

If you are used to a typical Aveda salon, this place is not for you. Its cluttered and dated. I waited so long that I wrote the following notes while sitting in the lone chair 30 minutes past my appointment time (with a few after I left while sitting in the parking lot) Decor- tacky fake Victorian. Tafetta type material draped over mirrors, Cheap rose patterned hat boxes, random pieces of crown molding nailed to the walls. Waxing room was a stiff table with old stained sheets and paper covering the pillow No gratuities on cards. Bring cash or checks. Inconvenient. Bank next door to get cash at. Appt for 1pm... Was told at 105 "it's Saturday so it'll be at least 15 more minutes". Was finally helped at 1:35 Was offered coffee or tea when was told it would be a while longer Staff friendly- greeted by everyone that walked by. Only positive in the whole thing Aesthetician apologized insincerely. Only waxed bottom of brows and in between. Not on top. Didn't trim. Didnt pluck. Didn't show me what she did and check to make sure that I was happy. Salon didn't charge due to wait. Wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. read more

I have been to other AVEDA salons and have been going here since I liked the products. But this place is definitely not up to par. The "spa" feels more like it should house a hardware store. It has uncomfortable chairs and decor is dated, dirty and downright weird (what do they do with the pool table in the middle of the salon I wonder...). I have gone here a few times because there are no other AVEDA salons in the area. I have had the same processes several times and have been charged completely different prices every time. Also my hair is getting more and more damaged....not happy with this place or AVEDA products anymore. Will not be going back. read more

I went in using a groupon offer for a partial highlight which i purchased for $86.50. After meeting with the stylist she recommended just to do a color process no highlights. Groupon sells color process for $55.00. I was told this would go towards my hair cut and color. I was pleased with the color and cut. when leaving I was told I owed an additional $80.00 for the cut. When I told her what I paid for the groupon I was told that it was not their problem that I only got a color and no highlights. The $80 was for the cut. So for a cut and color at this salon is $160.00. Using my Groupon first time customer it cost me $186.50. Terrible customer service. I will not be returning. read more

The place is nice enough, but the staff were rude. There were four of us scheduled for manicures and pedicures, yet there was only one person scheduled to do all. She was nice enough, but the other staff members were rude and condescending. I wanted to pay for my friend's manicure, and it confused the cashier beyond reasonable thought. Not a great start to my friend's wedding day. Would not recommend AT ALL. read more

I handed him my card from my old aveda. Salon which he didn't follow, my roots were under done and not way matched the rest if the color. I honestly. Don't mind spending. Would give it negative stars if i could. Ruined my hair. Inexperienced stylist who said she had no training in Aveda and thought the product she put in my hair "was clear." it was not. Had to cut my hair and get corrective color elsewhere. I reported it to Aveda I hope they protect their brand and audit the salon. Training is very important when it comes to color. The manager could have cared less. in fact, she left me and the inexperienced stylist and went elsewhere and didn't return. Very poor quality. read more

Not a fan of the Dazzle Dry manicure service at Thompson's. I purchased a Groupon for two of these manicures and just finished with my second service. It is pretty much a polish change. Service includes filing of nails but no cuticle attention, moisturizing of surrounding skin...none of the traditional elements of a manicure. Why? Technician answered, "that's just how we do it". The application looks sloppy (mostly because my cuticles have not been pushed back or trimmed) and polish goes on streaky at best with bubbling. Save your money and your time. read more

Run down salon with a inexperienced staff.I was referred to Thompson's By a co worker who apparently was unaware her stylist left the salon months ago. I had a consultation with Rebbecca who was highly praised in reviews and was considered comparable to the stylist I requested. She took an excessive amount of time discussing what she would do to my color. I was unsure and should have left on my instinct , I spent my time and money on poor quality service with the promise of Aveda standard. The front desk was rude and inconsiderate about my dissatisfaction with the service. A second visit to a different salon and corrective color gave me the ability to take off my hat. Misadvertising and charging for untrained stylists should be illegal. read more

I was referred to Janine who did my cut and color for the first time a few days ago and all I can say is OMG! Along with a great personality, I was amazed at her professionalism and creativity. I came out with a dynamite cut and color. I felt like a million dollars with my new look. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to look and feel like a superstar. I went to Maddie for color...EXCELLENT! She is a terrific, knowledgeable colorist. The Aveda Color is also Excellent. I think the product is truly much better than other salon dyes. It is a shame that some old reviews are on Yelp because I totally disagree with the poor reviews. The salon looks great. The main floor displays all of the Aveda products nicely and the upstairs for cuts and color has a nice bright feel. I absolutely recommend this salon. The customer service is also very friendly and attentive. read more
