They have the nastiest woman working at this blue mercury. I have never been more appalled in my life. This woman looks at me up and down doesn't even say hello and goes we don't have that in the nastiest tone after I asked for one simple product if they had it back in stock, this is not only the first time that she has been nasty when I have walked in, but I feel like they are so prejudiced against those who look like they can't afford to shop in a blue mercury. It's the same women working there giving nasty looks and not saying hello to customers walking in that go home and are miserable every single night just like this woman she was the only one also not in a uniform working and she had a sloppy ponytail. Came in to buy hair products, lipstick, and Creed perfume. Left empty handed. Horrible service. Walked in to 4 staff members talking to each other. Not even a hello or welcome to acknowledge my presence. Walked the store and Shopped for 15 minutes without even being acknowledged. Staff was too busy talking to each other. I left. Went home, logged onto my laptop and spent the $700 at Neiman Marcus buying what I wanted. Don't waste your time here. read more

All of The ladies at the front desk are , helpful , friendly and professional. The place is very attractive but the most important things are The ladies doing the manicures and pedicures are rude, unpleasant and rushing . in front of their client They speak a foreign language which is Inappropriate, uncomfortable and so rude , And They look miserable. As I entered the store, I got the feeling that I was being sized up, judged on whether or not I'm the kind of person capable of purchasing a $400 moisturizer. After a really disappointing visit to the Sephora store I decided to go to Bluemercury as a pick me up since I went to the Grove specifically for a product at Sephora. Shocker, Bluemercury had the product I was looking for that I was told wasn't available until September but even better, the Bluemercury artist found a better foundation for me. Super friendly and not intrusive, couldn't have been happier. Bought a concealer as well and she also went out of her way to find the blush I wanted that wasn't available in their store. read more

I used to love browsing and shopping at Blue Mercury in Shrewsbury, however my recent experience has made me never want to give them my business ever again. There were workers everywhere, but no one offered to help me. And when I did inquire about a specific product the artist gave me a brush and said "put it on yourself." I had said I wasn't sure and instead of showing me she just verbally instructed me what to do. My cashier experience was a nightmare. The woman snapped at me saying "What are we buying here?" As if I was wasting her time. She was very short with me and would answer me back in a rather rude tone. I felt extremely uncomfortable and actually unwanted. It's sad because they have great products, but such a sour staff. Save your money go to MAC and ask for Michelle. read more

After a three-year search search for a quality facial in NJ, I may just have found the place. In my opinion, a facial shouldn't be a glorified face washing that I could do myself. Furthermore, it should be conducted by a well-informed and skilled aesthetician who understands skin and is well-versed in the products that are being used and/or recommended. Jenn did my facial and she rocked. She didn't try to hard sell a bunch of stuff that I didn't want, but she did make a few recommendations and I've been introduced to two new products that I'm loving. (Darphin Hydraskin and Caudalie Vinoperfect) My only complaint would be that you have to mingle with the general public in the retail store in order to pay your bill. It's a little uncomfortable to be all blissed out and have to come out and deal with the retail check out. I had no idea that Bluemercury offered facials because I mostly shop for make up and fragrances at department stores. The menu of services is reasonably priced. If you've been thinking about giving it a try, do it. read more

I went here yesterday for the first time bc I was in search of a natural looking foundation and lipstick. I'd been to The Grove (the shopping center it's in) a million times before but had never been in BlueMercury before. I was going there b/c the La Mer website said they carried their product and I thought it'd be good to go and sample their foundation. A minute or so after I walked in looking lost, the Laura Mercier specialist came up to me and asked if she could help me. I told her I was looking to sample La Mer foundation and she informed me they only carry La Mer lotions. She then asked if I wanted to try Laura Mercier. I thought, why not. I'd never tried their products before (typically I buy Prescriptive (online only now), Lancome, or drugstore brands). I informed her I wanted a natural look. This is where it gets good. She sampled some on my face, then pulled me closer to the window for natural light and concluded none of the colors for Laura Mercier matched my skin tone. Imagine that. A makeup artist more worried about how I looked than moving product. I can't tell you how much I appreciated that. I only wish I remembered her name (she was very pretty, olive skin, shoulder length brown hair). She then asked the Chanel expert, Catalina, if she had any natural foundation that would match me. Catalina put on foundation (Vitalumiere Aqua 12). I wasn't certain about it and didn't want to make a decision then and there. She didn't pressure me at all. She put together a sample for me and told me to test it out at home. Again, can't tell you home much I appreciate the no pressure sales tactic. She then had me wait a minute while she put on blush and while she did that I remembered I needed lipstick and mascara as well. She got the perfect lip color in one try after I told her I wanted a color close to my lip color (Rouge coco shine in Confident.... it was/is perfect and will be my daily lipstick). I paid for my lipstick and foundation and went shopping in the shopping center. While I was shopping I looked in every mirror (even a toaster in Williams Sonoma and my own compact while outside). I asked two separate people (one was a nice woman at the register at Ann Taylor) what they thought of the foundation. They both said it looked great! That my skin looked dewy (which was the same word my sister used this morning after I met her for breakfast) I went back to bluemercury and ended up buying the Chanel primer, Chanel foundation and the Chanel blush that she had put on b/c it really looked nice. Catalina was so nice! She recommended I use my foundation brush to apply it and demo'd why on a mirror. She also gave me a sample of the primer and told me to use the samples for the next couple of days to make sure I liked them and if I don't end up liking them, I can return the product. Again, no pressure. Then she went to the back and brought out some Chanel samples for me. So here we are today. I put on more moisturizer today b/c I thought I was a little dry at the end of yesterday. The foundation looks nice and my sister really liked it. I'm noticing a little bit of breaking out, but I can't say for sure it's due to the makeup. I'm going to do what Catalina suggested and use the samples for the next couple of days and form a real opinion. No matter what my opinion of the Chanel foundation is (I already know the lipstick, blush and mascara are winners... and I'm pretty positive I love the primer), my opinion of blue mercury is 100% positive. What a great store! Every time Im in NJ I look forward to visiting this shop. They are small in comparison to a Sephora or Ulta, but only have the best products in my opinion. Oribe, Nest Fragrances, Diptique, Nars and other higher end products. There are always wonderfully helpful sales people and I've never felt pressured into buying anything. I also love that they give you great samples, never (or hardly ever) foil packets, usually always deluxe sizes. read more

After years of purchasing my Bobby Brown cosmetics, as well as other items & service, I just walked out never to return again after being completely ignored by several sales people while they help people who walked in after me. One sales person was in the middle of a make over, looked over & help another woman, when I asked if she could help me too she said she couldn't. I hope they work on commission because I was out of almost everything & needed to replenish. read more

I have shopped at both this location and the Sea Girt one, but find myself coming to this one more since I work close by. After my last experience, I will not be coming back. I stopped in after work to pick up some things. There was a store full of employees and one other customer walking around. I was browsing a skincare section, with three other employees around, and not a single one greeted me, acknowledged me, or made eye contact with me; I was simply ignored. I perused my way around the store, unbothered, and again found myself in a section of the store with two more employees - who, once again - ignored me. I had an armful of products, and if I wanted to, probably could've walked out, since I was pretty much invisible to these girls. I finally checked out and left. With Sephora coming to The Grove, I would really be going above and beyond with each customer that came into my store if I was employed here. Seems as though they do not care. My only wish is that Sephora puts this pathetic excuse for a luxury beauty store out of business. read more

Just walked in here yesterday to have my make up done for a special evening out after buying a great dress at glow next door! Nicole did my makeup and again, a fantastic job.
