Pre- buy contact always seems to get lost in the mail. The price goes up .05 every 2 weeks. .35 higher than their competitors. No thanks

Best around, had them for 10 years, never had a problem. You got questions they have answers.

Wish I could put zero stars! PLEASE READ!…read more Amerigas Propane's customer service is horrible, void of sympathy, and outright negligent of their customers' safety. In single degree weather, my 88 year old grandma was forced to live without heat in her home for over TWO WEEKS because of a mistake Amerigas made on their end. She paid over two weeks ago with her card over the phone (phone calls are recorded for quality assurance) and they CONFIRMED that the transaction was authorized, scheduled a delivery for the following week, then never showed up. She called to see what was going on and they told her she still needed to pay before they made a delivery--payment she already provided for them! They asked us to get proof from her bank that she made the payment and then to email it to their customer support email address. The bank told us that the card payment successfully authorized, the funds were available, but the company had dropped the charge for some reason. Once we had the proof, we called Amerigas again and asked them to review the email I had sent. They said that they saw the email but kept talking over us to say that they have no record of the payment. We asked them to listen to the phone recording from her call when she paid, but they said they couldn't and transferred us to a supervisor. We had to explain the entire situation again because they didn't communicate any of it to her. She then told us that she couldn't review the recording either! I asked her who has the authority to listen to them, but she couldn't tell me and said they don't do that. After being hung up on, I had to call yet again and explain everything yet again, and they ended up hanging up on me too AFTER HOURS, so I wouldn't be able to contact them until the next day. So I called the emergency line because my grandmother, recovering from pneumonia, was freezing her butt off in her trailer and needed help right away. But they wanted $300 extra to deliver the propane within a few days! If they had done what they were supposed to and processed her payment two weeks before this and hadn't cancelled her order, there would have been no need to expedite the delivery. The lady on the emergency line said they were unable to do anything and said I could call the delivery department in the morning. The next day, I contacted another propane company to see how soon they would be able to deliver a new propane tank and start service with them, but they required Amerigas to remove their tank first. I asked Amerigas how soon they could get out to remove her tank so that we could switch providers, and they kept avoiding my question, talking over me again, saying that they are putting in a new order. Finally they shut up long enough for me to demand a time frame during our emergency and they said, "Oh, next year." We are two weeks away from the new year, so she could have said two weeks, but her wording made it obvious it might be two weeks or more realistically much longer! Everytime I call to pay my bill...I receive excellent service. They are so kind and caring. I love…read moreto be able to talk to a live person instead of all computers!
