Great neighborhood store. Similar to Grays IGA across the street, it almost takes you back in time to when mom and pop stores were popular, while still stocking new and modern products. I have always found what I need here from their wide selection and have been happy with the quality of products and services I've received (particularly like that they do key copying). Their prices can be surprisingly good depending on what item you're looking for, especially when they run specials throughout the year. It's also just very convenient. I have had a couple issues with items that I bought recently, and they were super nice and helpful about returning them. For instance, I bought a super cheap sprinkler last week, then it broke, and when I took it back they gave me a full refund no questions asked. Another time I got great customer service was from Peter, he showed me the pros and cons of each of the yard trimmers they have available, and since I'm a dummy about that stuff, it was incredibly helpful and much appreciated. I left feeling like I made a well-informed purchase. On the whole, all the staff have all been friendly, respectful, and helpful, and they keep the place clean. Would recommend! read more

I called to ask about a repair to the storm window on my storm door or if they might be able to make me a new one. The woman I spoke to could not tell me if they could fix it so I asked if they could make a new one and she said she didn't know. When I asked if they even made new storm windows, she also didn't know. What has America come to when the local hardware store can't even fix a small storm window? They want us to call the big window places who want to sell us all new windows or nothing at all. Or, at the very least insist on someone coming to your home, with a service charge of course, just to get their foot in your personal space. It makes one furious to see how we have sold our souls to materialiistic capitalism! read more

I needed a cap for my craftsman shop vac. I called around everywhere could not find a drain cap. I called this Ace and a young man I think his name was Corey. He offered to help find a solution because I had water in my basement. He worked with me and found a solution for a cap. He was excellent. I will return to this ACE. The customer service there was stellar. Even the young lady that checked me out was very nice. This was on Sunday July 10 around 9:30 in the morning. read more

1st time there. Great service, friendly staff, sells most anything you might need in hardware! It's bigger than it looks.

I've been going to this store for the 8 years that I've lived in the neighborhood, but after today, I won't be coming back. I'm so livid that this is the second review I've written this morning. I'd come in to pick up a few items I needed to repair an A/C unit. I spent a long time searching for a specific screwdriver bit that they didn't have. I settled for a product that I thought might work. As I moved to the next department. an older gentleman approached me (whom I now understand is the owner), initially under the guise of helping me find what I needed. The exchange went something like this: Owner: Did you find everything you were looking for? Me: Well, sort of. I'm also looking for fuses and a wood finish Owner: What about the item you put in your pocket back in the screwdriver section? Me: Excuse me? Owner: Yes, I saw you place the item in your pocket. Me: You mean this? (Holds shows him item that I'M HOLDING IN MY HAND) Owner: Well, I saw your hands go in your pocket? Me: I'm sure they did, because my phone is in my pocket and I'm searching for what I'll need. Here, how about I empty my pockets right now? Owner: That won't be necessary. Me: No, if you're going to accuse me of stealing, why don't we be sure. (Empties contents of my pockets onto the shelf). Owner: Backpedalling, I'm sorry, it's just I saw the item go into your pocket. Me: You know what? I think we're done here. I'm not going to shop here anymore. I'll put this back. Owner: I can do that for you. (he takes item and I leave the store). I won't pretend that my business has kept the store afloat, but like I said, I've been coming to this store for 8 years for anything from propane refills to BBQ accessories to home improvement items. I'm not offended that the owner doesn't know who I am, but I am offended that he would so recklessly embarrass a good, honest customer, one who has never stolen a thing in his life, let alone a little 7 dollar tool (that would probably be 4 dollars elsewhere). I'd always chosen this store because of the friendly and helpful employees, despite the higher prices, but this is it for me. I will never step foot in this store again. read more

This is a great store! I have shopped here for many years and never had anything but a good experience. The staff is knowledgeable, always courteous and friendly. They are well stocked and sell a huge variety of items. They also have a nice repair shop, which is very handy!! I have had screens fixed, lamps repaired, keys made (they've always worked). Neighborhood stores are a wonderful asset to a community, and this store continues to breathe life into the area. I sincerely hope it continues to thrive for a long time. read more

Awesome store! The help is very friendly. They've been doing a fantastic job during the covid-19 pandemic. Everyone wears masks and the employees try to make sure customers are doing there part too to help control the spread of this deadly virus! Stress levels do seem high when customers are being rude about not wearing a mask. People please think of others and not just yourself. Excellent service in this store!!! read more

This store is a little old fashioned, but in a charming, neighborly way. Very helpful staff, including free carry out. They have a full paint department that mixes colors perfectly even if you don't buy enough the first time and have to go back! They carry Benjamin Moore and Clark and Kensington paint, which are the best paints I've used. All their products, services and prices are a great value! read more

Owner seems very unfriendly. Offended my wife on two occasions. No way to treat a new customer. Does not recognize corporate programs such as ACE Rewards. Now that I have found this place I will almost never go to the big box home improvement places. I was not in the store 2 minutes before a staff member found ME and offered assistance. Compare this to other stores where you spend half your time looking for help only to find out they really have no clue. The gentlemen that helped me knew where every item I asked for was(this is so basic but often hard to find with most store staff in big box.) Yes the selection is smaller than big box but I don't need 87 types of every item to choose from, give me the budget and the high end version and call it a day. Do not get me wrong they had 6 coffee makers to choose from, ranging in price from 23 to 120 dollars. I had an issue with one item and the return was quick and easy just make sure you go to the back counter to obtain your refund. IF YOU LONG FOR THE DAYS OF SMALL HARDWARE STORE WITH KNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF THIS IS THE PLACE. The store has the MAIN ST. feel to it. read more
