Mountain Air Mechanical Contractors - Electrical box covers not put back on because the tech was lazy.

The tech spent no more than 10 minutes at my house and charged an additional $200+ just to change the fuse, which he claimed was the problem. I was out of town at the time and was told by my dog sitters that the furnace stopped working again 2 days later. I came home and discovered that the tech didn't even bother to put the electrical box covers back on and left clipped wires on the floor. I decided to hire Call Dad AC & Heating for a second opinion and they actually took the time to properly diagnose the issue for a fraction of the price. Turns out it was a much bigger issue than a blown fuse and Mountain Air Mechanical Contractors ripped me off in an effort to be lazy and save time. They also told me they would charge another diagnostic fee if they had to come back, even though they clearly didn't fix the problem.

The office worked with us to quickly add another service call to handle the leak and got us fixed and ready to go at the same time our gas company was here. We have used this company for several years now. The office always answers the phone, their appointments have a quick turn around time and their quality of service is worth the price. Their technician Tyler is friendly and knowledgeable. 10/10 recommendation this company.

Their scheduling service repeatedly scheduled late appointments when technicians weren't available, causing them to cancel at the last minute 2 days in a row, leaving us with a non functional HVAC during hot weather. Extremely unprofessional and unethical business practice.

We have now failed two inspections. The first failure was due to insufficient wiring. The second failure was due to loose connectors and because not all of the work performed was properly disclosed on the permit. The inspection failed again as a result. This has caused significant delays to our renovation, and we are now unable to submit another permit until these issues are resolved. Electrical work is a major part of an HVAC installation, and repeated inspection failures are a serious red flag. The crew also left construction debris and trash behind, further reflecting a lack of professionalism and attention to detail. Based on this experience, I strongly advise against using this company, especially for electrical work. Look elsewhere and save yourself the hassle of correcting substandard work.

McKinney Heating & Cooling - Dwayne left a bad pinch in duct, backpressure and whistle

Dwayne McKinney has to be the worst communicator/business owner I have ever run into. I laid out…read morewhat we wanted in a new HVAC system and he showed up to do a walk-through prior to a proposal. It was a system costing us $21,000 and though his bid was on the higher end of those quoted, I decided to go with him since he was a small local business. What a mistake of a lifetime. Holes were drilled through 90 year old beautiful brick home creating air gaps I could put my hand through, he re-used old parts despite billing me for new, ductwork pinched and hanging on unsupported lineset, exhaust vent placed (drilled through brick) in wrong spot, he left unfinished work, the gas line run to wrong locations, and little cleanup was done afterwards. I sent photos and documented work attempted compared to what was promised on the proposal and gave him several chances (over a year) to fix things that can be fixed (some are so bad they just can't be fixed). He never calls back or communicates.... good luck on getting warranty work done. The worst part is the holes drilled can't be fixed, the other fixes will cost another $10,000 by somebody else because I can't trust him to be in my house without me there. He put an outside condenser unit exactly where I mapped out it shouldn't go, directly outside a main dining room window. Please stay far away from Mckinney Heating and Cooling!
