Outstanding! I've been a painting contractor for over 20…read moreyears, and in the building trades my entire adult life. In that time, I've worked with dozens of building contractors throughout the bay area, and have gained a lot of insight to the type of builders who know how to manage and execute a high end project. Several years ago, I was asked to bid on a project for McNeil Construction in Sonoma County. The project demanded excellent execution towards a full home remodel, and the client was very particular about the details. Brad McNeil oversaw and facilitated all phases of construction and remodeling to meet the satisfaction of this very critical client. Brad McNeil is a rare man who understands the value of each step towards a goal. The design, project coordination and execution required a great deal of research, follow-through and consistent quality in materials, management, and construction. If corners are cut, the end result suffers more with each following step. However, people like Brad consider details to be as crucial to the project as its outcome. Through his dedication to the job, down to the exact detail, Brad consistently demonstrates that the drive behind his company, work ethics, and his extensive experience is to ensure that the client will be ecstatic with the results. I would absolutely recommend McNeil Construction to anyone who needs the talents of an honest, knowledgeable and dedicated building contractor. Brad's hands-on approach to managing a project is the prime example of his expansive skills. His experience and communication in the field of construction allow him to personally ensure his clients get lasting quality, from consultation to estimating to final construction, and everything in between. The clarity, transparency, along with the progress and final outcome, also let his experience shine. I currently work with several building contractors, but Brad deserves my highest recommendation as a true professional in his field, driven by his personal satisfaction of a job well done and the satisfaction of seeing the client's expectations come to life.

I hired Rising Starr Construction to remove and replace exterior building material which had been…read moreaffected by wood destroying pests & organisms - mainly dry rot & fungus - as identified in Home and Pest Inspection Reports. Most of the work required replacing approximately 50 ft x 3 ft of T1-11 siding along several exterior walls and replacing trim boards at various locations. Josh Kesecker is the Owner, and Antonio Martinez is Lead Carpenter and primary onsite worker. After reaching out to Josh, he responded quickly to setup a time to meet at my house and review the scope of work. He was quick to respond with his very clear itemized quote, and he scheduled work immediately. His price was fair considering the work involved and level of quality he and Antonio provided. Josh is a third-generation contractor with prior experience as an Inspector, so he knows how to address corrective issues. He is soft-spoken and calm, very straightforward, experienced, and friendly. Antonio was a gem - a very friendly, skilled professional that works very hard and takes pride in doing work correctly. For example, the trim at a window had been identified in the reports as having fungal damage. When Antonio removed the trim, he found that the damage extended to a narrow 2" and 12" section of siding under the trim on the side of one of the windows, and above the garage personal-door. He proceeded to dig out and replace this siding before replacing the trim. Another contractor would not have included this level of quality control and workmanship and would have simply replaced the trim and left the damage underneath. These guys were very easy to work with, and came through, providing outstanding quality work. I highly recommend them.

We had an…read more'extra room' behind the garage that was below-grade, had drainage issues, had terrible flooring, and the existing French doors and interior walls appeared to have water damage. We called and the owner Josh came out to investigate and assess what we needed to have done - within a day or two he sent a comprehensive and competitive bid. After we agreed to the work Josh returned with his team and within a several days created a French drain system around the extra room to mitigate moisture intrusion, installed a new sliding glass door, installed new flooring / baseboard, resolved some moisture intrusion / fixed and painted dry wall inside the room, and built an incredible post and pier foundation for our new shed we were having delivered. All of the work was done efficiently and with masterful craftsmanship; Josh and his crew were always nice and even cleaned up the work area at the end of each work day! We just sold the home and definitely made our money back and more! Can't recommend Rising Starr Construction enough... Josh and his crew are exceptional and truly the best at what they do.

What stood out about Chris is that while he was there an unrelated problem arose with my plumbing and he spent about 3 hours fixing it, and refused any additional compensation. That's unheard of in this day and age. Don't let one bad review sway you from a reviewer who seemingly likes to give bad reviews (you can see it on her account). If you hire Chris, you will get a 5-star guy who will give you the shirt off of his back. He's warm, friendly, knowledgeable and fair- exactly the type of guy and company you want to fix your stuff. I will definitely be using Chris for future projects!

Steve Clark was always on top of any issues and available to answer any questions. The crew was exceptional - friendly, efficient, and totally knew what they were doing. The daily progress updates with pictures was amazing. What can usually be a very stressful time was not in any way. In fact it was a pleasure. We truly appreciate the kindness and friendly communications from Steve and all the staff. Every house looks great AND we know will be weather tight for many, many years to come!

Warren Construction & Roofing did an excellent job replacing our roof. The estimator (Steven…read moreClark) was very thorough and spent 15 minutes inspecting our roof to determine whether or not we actually needed a new roof (or whether it has some years of life, with some minor repairs). He told me exactly why it needed replacing (and could point to the bowing that indicated deterioration of the underlayment, which he could feel sagging as he walked on it). None of the other roofing contractors even answered my first question (do we need a new roof?); they just gave me an estimate for replacing it. When I asked Steve about the possibility of installing solar panels (at some point in the future), he recommended that they put in a special underlayment in the area where solar would be installed. That avoids the solar installation from compromising the waterproofing. Later, he sent me pictures of another house they were repairing. The homeowners had solar panels installed, but ended up with water damage. They had to take all the solar panels off, repair the roof, and then they can have the solar panels reinstalled. We're not going to have that problem because Steve says the self-adhering underlayment will fill in the screw threads to prevent water from entering. We signed the contract on 5/10/2023. We emailed him with our final decision re: the color of the shingles on 5/13/2023. He emailed back on Monday (5/15/23) to say he would check the weather and their schedule to see when they might be able to squeeze us in. On 5/16/2023, he emailed to say they were finishing up a job earlier and could be there as early at the next morning if we wanted. The crew showed up early on 5/17/23 and worked hard for 3 days, finishing on roof on Friday afternoon, 5/19/2023. At the end of each day, they sent me an email with pictures and an update regarding the progress. At the end of Day 1, I could see that one of our fascia boards was rotted out at the end. I emailed Steve to check whether they would be able to replace that board (but it was already in progress). First thing the next morning, I saw them carrying a new fascia board around the side of the house. They got that fixed along with replacing the underlayment that was warped.
