He is very proud in his workmanship. He and his helper were very easy to work with. Cleaned up every day. When there was an unforeseen pipe from the adjacent swimming pool, that ruptured during the pour, Misael took complete responsibility and had an emergency plumber provide a temporary repair. He returned the following day with a pool contractor to permanently fix the problem. 5 STARS for workmanship and integrity.

Chris, you did come out and you told me the window wasn't leaking. I tried to talk to your guy that was doing the roof over the bay window and he argued with me to. The window wasn't used. It came from the window company because the other one had failed, but this was just put in improperly and or not sealed correctly, so don't tell me I didn't try and call you to come out here and make it right. You basically blew me off.

I have been meaning to write this review for several weeks now, but it has been difficult to try to…read morerelive the trauma brought upon by my previous contractor.  In short, my previous contractor screwed us.  He did not get the permits or the inspections that he said he did.  He basically took our money, abandoned our project, and escaped to Mexico.  In short, we had a house that was in terrible condition and deemed unlivable by San Francisco.  My husband and I were screwed financial and emotionally.  It was an extremely hard time and the pain still lingers but it is finally fading away, thanks to Steve.   Steve and Bartkus Remodel stepped into a very challenging situation, one that very few contractors wanted to touch.  We had a house that was poorly "remodeled", needed permits, had to be remedied, and all while my husband and I were financially strapped.  Steve went into immediate action and took the charge in navigating San Francisco's Building Department's requirements in our unique situation.  San Francisco has very strict building codes.  I've learned from this process; you need someone who VERY knowledgeable and determined to figure out proper solutions.   Steve and his crew expertly worked on many of items in our home.  He worked closely with our structural engineer to bring our housing structure up to code (we went from a closed to open concept and also wanted to legalized our ground floor level, so this was major).  The structural work included adding and fixing various structural posts, adding structural plywood, and performing concrete testing.  Fireproofing was also added, along with sheetrock and an extensive paint job.  Him and his crew remodeled our bathrooms which also includes tiling and creating necessary soffits.  In the interest of wanting to keep this review relatively short, these are just a few things Steve helped us with.   I was most impressed with Steve's communication.  He was extremely easy to reach, always getting back to us within a day and had no problems taking phones calls on the weekends.  Any issues we had he always corrected immediately.  Not everything goes perfectly, but Steve was receptive to all feedback and would try his best to make sure it is perfection.    Although Steve came as a recommendation to us, Steve treated my family like his family.  He knew of our dire financial situation, but was only concerned with getting us into our home.  He happily worked with us regarding compensation.  I and my husband will be forever grateful to Steve and Bartkus Remodel.  They turned my nightmare into my pride and joy.   If you would like more information about Steve and Bartkus remodel, I am happy to answer any further questions.  Please feel free to send me a message.

Travis held my hand through every decision, was always available to answer my questions, was very honest and hard-working. We are so thrilled with how it turned out and we will be using him and his team for more projects in the future. His guys, Ryan, Jaime, & everyone else did a fantastic job. Every person who walked into my home, has worked with Travis for the last 10 to 20 years. That made me very trusting of who was in my home when I was there and when I wasn't there. It is very challenging to find a trustworthy contractor who is not only good at communicating, but is also very good at their job. Thank you, Travis and team!

We can't believe this is our house! We've had a couple of friends hire him now to do their projects! Travis walked into our patched-together 50 year old house and understood our vision for opening up the floor plan and letting more light in. He worked within our budget to draw up a quote that met our vision, while also recommending items that could easily be isolated and saved for a later project date without having to re-do any of this initial work (like refacing the fireplace, re-doing the back patio). He was patient and helpful through the architect and permitting phase and had great recommendations for local cabinet, tile and plumbing stores that allowed us to get great quality finishes within our budget. Every sub-contractor that he brought in for specialized pieces like our master shower tile, shower glass, flooring and insulation were friendly and did absolutely top of the line work. He is also very clever at figuring out solutions to curveballs that our house threw and could take our crazy Pinterest pictures and piece them together to build custom solutions like the bench in the master shower. Overall our project included a major overhaul and upgrade to our electrical panel / electrical service to the street, major plumbing upgrades, new windows, a master bathroom addition and a complete interior paint/flooring refresh and remodel including a complete kitchen remodel (with removing load bearing walls to create an open concept) and hall bath remodel. Our house of 16 years is now a sturdy, safe home we can spend the next 50 years in - Travis didn't cut any corners and understood that this needs to be our dream home that will last "generations" as he put it. He's an honest guy with old fashioned values and you just won't find a better team to take on your project.
