i was put in contact with thomasville by my landlord back in november. they restored the rowhouse i'm renting following a fire in summer 2024. my heat pump (worked on by them and covered under warranty) has not worked since i moved in in august. you can hear the compressor, but no air flow. simple, right? get it repaired or replaced after an evaluation. the first representative i was in contact with (thomas) struggled to set up an initial visit for weeks. finally, got a subcontractor to look at the unit. first visit, came unprepared, no ladder high enough to reach the roof (there's no access inside, 2 story rowhouse.) had to come back another day. struggled to reschedule. came back, assessed unit, wanted to replace, said it's in bad shape. didn't hear anything for a while. i have had to initiate follow-ups after being told i would be contacted on NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. eventually, they said that they can't determine warranty eligibility without A SECOND OPINION FROM ANOTHER SUBCONTRACTOR. struggled to schedule for Weeks Again. 2nd subcontractor shows up. no ladder to reach the roof and seemingly no knowledge of the customer's complaint. this was the day before the blizzard at the end of January 2026. they came back with the right ladder a few days after the storm and said they couldn't do any assessment or anything because the unit was frozen. back to no contact for All Of February. at the end of february, i was contacted by a new company rep (juan) who said my original rep (thomas) is no longer with the company. he said he wanted to start off fresh and get this handled quickly. he scheduled for monday 3/2 and didn't show. i didn't realize this until the next day, tuesday afternoon. i reached out Again and reminded rep that he was supposed to have been there. he said he could do friday afternoon and would call me thursday night to confirm. no confirmation. calls me friday afternoon, i ask if he has the right size ladder. he says he thinks so. then asks me "is the leak coming from the roof?" WHAT LEAK!!!! (NO BRIEFING ON CUSTOMER COMPLAINT!) shows up with a 24' needing a 40'. leaves without rescheduling and says he'll figure out when to come back. i have been patient and polite all this time, but this is actually RIDICULOUS. FIVE MONTHS. FIVE MONTHS. COME ON!!!!! p.s. the quality of the original restoration was mid at BEST. one layer of paint rolled onto walls with inconsistent coats and streaks still visible today. light fixtures not installed fully and hanging out of the ceiling. kitchen appliances not tested (disposal didn't work for first month of me living there, dishwasher still tips forward every time it's opened) and construction dust everywhere that had to be cleaned up while we moved in. and, mismatched lightbulbs in both color and brightness. the other HVAC unit (A/C out back) also wasn't tested prior to move in and had to be repaired as well. in the heat of summer while moving. read more

Thomasville Restoration proved to be unreliable and tried to bill me for materials that I provided for my siding repair. They did not show up when they had scheduled to do work and were unprepared when they arrived days later. They also tried to get me to replace my entire roof but only asked my insurance to cover a minimal repair. They spent months "matching" my shingles only to do the work with ones that don't match at all. When questioned about the billing, the office person Megan, spent more time telling me my insurance would get cancelled than she did trying to resolve the issue. Would not recommend! read more

UPDATE: I posted over a year ago about how Thomasville Restoration destroyed my house, but I did not know the extent at that time. I was reminded by their timely response....a year later. Their damage caused me and my young daughters to be displaced for an ADDITIONAL 8 months. Repairs would have been completed in 4 months without the damage caused by Thomasville Restoration. 12 months is a long time when you've just lost your father and have to take a special bus to school due to being displaced with all of your (remaining) belongings in storage. No soft blankets, no toys, only the bare minimum rental furniture provided by insurance for an unnecessary 8 additional months. We shouldn't have needed to request winter clothing from storage. We should have been in our house by Christmas, beginning to heal from our losses. Dropping the tree further into my house crushed 6 of the 12 engineered trusses, broke supports in my front deck (which I had just completed building with my own hands), broke supports in my back deck, collapsed my daughter's ceiling- dropping fiberglass insulation onto all of their belongings which could not be restored, crushed my gutters, smashed my brick facing, broke my window frame, cracked my foundation, broke landscaping stones and half of my plants, and obviously destroyed my daughter's frog pond. I want to add that they KNEW THE SCOPE OF WORK. They knew my husband had been killed by the tree. I was worried about THEM and made it quite clear that if it wasn't something they could handle, they should let me know. I asked several times if they were sure. I mentioned cranes. They accepted the job and subbed out to whoever happened to have a machete at the moment. They did this with complete disregard for my house (where my husband was killed by that very tree ONE DAY EARLIER), our belongings, and our livelihood and if we're being real, the unskilled people they hired. Look, maybe it IS a good company if you have a house that's somehow over-insured, but is a tear-down. Have them drop a tree onto your house and get a rebuild. I'm sure there are worse companies out there, but I haven't encountered them. PREVIOUS REVIEW: During a recent storm, I lost my husband due to a tree falling onto our house. Our insurance company sent out Thomasville Restoration to remove the tree. I explained the scope of work and even sent pictures of every angle. I warned Gil about the dangers of the job and explained that my husband died as a result of the tree and that the house was unsafe. Gil acted very sympathetic. They sent an unqualified, untrained team to my house the next day. While my neighbors were meeting on the street to come together in support of my family, the team got onto the roof and, without any safety equipment, ropes to direct branches, covers to protect landscaping, or consideration to move our furniture, the team used chainsaws to cut the tree at their closest accessible points. The tree had uprooted and fallen across the roof. I'm not a tree expert, but even my 11-year-old could explain where they went wrong. They cut the tree in the front as well as the BACK. When you cut off a giant, clay and dirt-caked root ball, weight is then shifted to the front of the tree, where the weight of the branches is pulling it down. They caused so much more damage to my house. The remaining tree was then positioned to fall through my entire 2 story home. I'll also add that they spilled gas/oil into my youngest daughter's little frog pond, and stepped onto the rocks while "removing the tree." My daughter, who just lost her dad the day before. It may not seem like a big deal, but when you're already grief-stricken, having to pull dead tadpoles that your daughter so lovingly raised, rushing to the neighbors for fresh water to try to save the survivors, is an incredibly shitty situation. After calling Gil and asking him if he sent a crew who had any experience removing trees, I found out that he had subcontracted to another company who clearly hired unskilled laborers. Luckily, Gil had the sense to call an actual, experienced, tree removal service named TREE TIMES, who immediately came out to assess the damage. Billy got on the phone with a rep he knew from my insurance company to get an insurance adjustor assigned to my case so that he could immediately remove the, now more hazardous, tree trunk from my house. He also got me in contact with an amazing contractor specializing in disaster recovery. That is the ONLY thing I can thank Gil for. But it just gets worse. I demanded that Gil come to my house and verbally told him that he was to cease all work. When his timing conflicted with my appointment with the funeral home, I assigned my father to communicate with him. My father explained that we had someone to take it from here. I had a negative experience with this company. The estimator (Britt) suggested that I needed to have the ceiling in the room above my water damage repainted. The contractor was confused, so they left. They had to come back and repaint a perfectly fine ceiling because it had been paid for. He also estimated a small repair in my basement. Upon seeing pictures, my insurance immediately requested them to come out and do additional repairs since their estimate was insufficient. Additionally, the subcontractor subbed out the work further to workers who did not speak English. He dropped them off at my house and then left for 6+ hours before picking them up. They cut up ceiling tiles in my basement as opposed to a better work space, causing a lot of dust. It was not cleaned up well and left an odor for several months. There were also quality issues with the work, and we had to have them come redo some of the ceiling tiles a second time. There were scheduling issues. We were told workers would come on a Saturday so planned our weekend around this. Come noon, no one had arrived, so we had to plan for a different day. Overall, I am really unimpressed by the work and professionalism of this company, which is odd since they were referred by USAA. Maybe you will have better luck but being in the South-Central PA area, I would look elsewhere. read more

These scammers came to my house on an insurance claim. They gave me a quote to replace my floor tiling. They later wanted to charge me more to remove the same tiles. How can a quote be made to replace something without removing what's already there?? I paid my deductible and now these scammers said that they gave the wrong amount on the quote and that I owe the rest. This company is straight TRASH!!! read more

My water heater leaked and damaged floors in 4 rooms of my home. A friend suggested I call them after her husband used them for house fire restoration. She said they took the headaches of dealing with insurance/contractor squables off his hands and were excellent with the restoration quality. So I called them...4 times. No one ever called me back and when I called and started out complaining, the operator hung up on me! So much for word of mouth referrals. I know mine will be wide open with a big fat NO if someone asks me about using them. read more

Worst customer service that I have ever experienced from a home contractor. They deceptively overcharged after insisting that they see the insurance appraisal (probably just to see how much money we were being given), and took weeks to schedule something that took less than an hour. They took great care of my items ensuring they were wrapped with care and expertise. The truck was fully stocked with anything they may need to aid in the move and protect my furniture. I was overly impressed and cannot say enough GREAT things about them. When they tell you they are a Family First company that strives to deliver the "Thomasville Touch" they aren't lying!
