Treatment: Infini RF Treatment for Hyperhidrosis (Sweating) The procedure: Jennifer (the medical aesthetician at Tzikas MD) performed the Infini RF treatment for hyperhidrosis on me a total of 3 times. Each treatment was done approximately 4-6 weeks apart. Each treatment does not take that long- but expect to be there for around 45 minutes. Before Jennifer began the treatment, Dr. Mascaro numbed the areas that would be treated on both underarms/armpits. Jennifer went over each underarm area a total of 4 times, with varying needle depths and energy levels. Let me also say that she is honestly the most calming person I could imagine to do this treatment. Even though this treatment is nothing to be afraid of, she still makes you feel completely at ease, helps distract and make you feel 100% comfortable. She has the best bed side manner I have ever experienced, seriously. With the numbing, the discomfort is minimal. You definitely feel some pokes/pressure, but only while the area is being treated. After each underarm is treated, you may feel as though the area is very warm (similar to the feeling of a sunburn), but this feeling only lasts for a few hours after treatment. I also found that this warm ("sunburn") feeling went away faster after the 2nd treatment versus the 1st, and the 3rd versus the 2nd. Jennifer also gives you a small ice pack to place under each armpit which helps. The armpit area is definitely red and a bit swollen the day of. I highly recommend applying hyaluronic acid to each treated area every 4-6 hours. (They sell some at the office, which is amazing). The hyaluronic acid definitely shortens any healing time. In the days following treatment, you may see a sort of dot/grid pattern over the treated area where the needles were "stamped". I didn't want to wear any sleeveless shirts while it healed, because it is definitely a bit noticeable if you lift your arm. I did workout just over 24 hours after the treatment though, so the treatment doesn't cause you to change any normal routines. Like I said, the best thing I recommend doing is applying the hyaluronic acid. After about a week the "grid" pattern on each arm pit faded. Did it cure my hyperhydrosis? Prior to the procedure I had been getting botox in my armpits twice a year, for the past 13 years. Botox does work, but is pricey, and honestly, wears off faster each time. The Infini RF treatment is definitely a better decision if you think of cost and time spent. I noticed after the first treatment that sweating probably decreased 40-50%. After the second treatment, it decreased 70-80%, and I just received the last treatment and definitely notice that sweating has decreased even more. It is great knowing that this is a permanent solution, and that I won't need to be paying for botox every 6 months like before. I would highly suggest doing the full 3 treatments. I would suggest doing them during a week when you know you can swap t-shirts for tank tops as well. Besides the minimal discomfort and the grid imprint that lasts around a week, I would say that there is no other downsides to this treatment. Also, the price of three treatments with the Infini is comparable to three botox treatments on the area, but this will last forever. I definitely recommend seeing Jennifer, or just asking her about it. Everyone at Tzikas MD is so nice and friendly. The ladies at the front desk are so sweet and helpful. They will always call you if an appointment time opens up. The office itself is extremely clean and modern. They always took me right on time for my appointment as well, which I really appreciate. I followed Dr. Tzikas' work for more than four years as a family member and two friends had fantastic results and experiences with him as their surgeon. I was referred to Dr. Tzikas by a friend of mine who had her nose done with him. My mother in law also gets Botox and fillers with him, and swears that he's the only dr. She'll see. I have wanted to fix my nose for my entire life but I was always scared. It was way too big for my petite frame, and also had a big bump. The Staff members are kind-hearted and helpful.This Doctor is very understanding and is willing to work with you even if you have a tough case.
