Twice now the good doctor has helped us on a whim with a crucial medication adjustment for our autistic child. The nurses who called us back and told us to increase his doses on Dr Pilz behalf both times neglected to document it nor did they call the pharmacy to adjust his prescriptions. This resulted in us running out prematurely which severely impacts our son in a severely negative way. We will continue to use Dr. Pilz because we can tolerate that type of behavior, but those without patience beware. Restructuring the staff to a more attentive pleasant group may be a good move for the practice.

The practice is in a very oddly shaped building just off rte 133 near the Andover / N Andover line. Parking is never a problem. There are several doctors and nurse practitioners so there also isn't a problem scheduling. Additionally, they have a standard hour every day for unscheduled sick drop-ins. We've been to 5 appointments for our newborn already and we've found doctors/nurses we like better than others, but it's nice to have that variety and to be able to get different opinions. We've never waited longer than 3 minutes in the waiting room and they don't rush you out of the exam room so you can nurse before going home if needed.

I doubt they can even do an x-ray. I started my daughter here when she was a baby. I thought it was odd that they don't seem to be very sweet or communicative with children. (except for Tara; she's great) They are not mean, but on the issue of children, they seem neutral-all business. This continued as she grew. We were assigned a doctor, but in 16 years have never seen that doctor again. We know she is still there, but we always see nurses. They often have the answering service on, and they have no ability to do blood tests, lab work, or scans. During Covid, they would not see my daughter because she was sick! We've been advised to go to the emergency room or urgent care instead. Yesterday I spent the day in the emergency room by their instruction, and today was informed that it was the wrong kind of emergency room. They said there was nothing they can do if her headaches have been happening for so long. They advised I go back to a different emergency room. In sum, if you need a school check up or you child has a cold or flu, they are fine. I could say more, but it's getting long.

When you call, you get a familiar voice that knows your family. Dr Bakshi is a lactation educator as well and was incredibly supportive and helpful on my breastfeeding journey with my first baby. If you're looking for a doctor who not only understands the challenges of nursing and pumping but will cheer you on and educate you, you found her. Their office is also in network with Children's Hospital. When my daughter had issues that required additional specialist support, we were able to see the best of the best in Boston and notes were shared seamlessly with Dr Bakshi's team. Their on call support over nights and weekends is also phenomenal. With a newborn I used the service a few times and always got immediate compassionate care. I have been completely understanding of the shortage in staff and have been very flexible but I have not felt like this had been reciprocated. I had an incident where I had switched insurances and didn't have my insurance card yet so I called with the information prior to the appointment. I got to the appointment and they didn't have the information even though I spent 20 minutes on the phone days before giving them the information. They told me they didn't have any record of my phone call with the office and I felt very gaslighted. They proceeded to make phone calls or look on different date bases to see if they could find the insurance information while I called the insurance to get the new number. I over heard a front desk person ask another front desk person to look under mass health. I then said I knew it wasn't mass health because it was insurance through my place of work. They looked at each other and disregarded what I had said and one of the women said "look under mass health anyways". I am a Latina woman so you can understand how that made me feel disrespected. Not only because I wasn't heard but also because I was stereotyped and even if I was on mass health the interaction would have been enough to make me feel bad about that which is never ok. I have not had an appointment on the time of the appointment for at least 2 years now. They are unorganized and have no understanding or flexibility even though this is a pediatric practice. I am now having to allot 2 hours for appointments to account for the wait time but they will make you pay a $50 fee and won't see your child if you are more than 9 minutes late. Even though I have sat in my car for 25 minutes waiting for them to call me to let me into the building for an appointment. Unrealistic and unprofessional. I will be changing our pediatrician, not because of the doctors or nurses because they have been wonderful but the front desk service is terrible and disrespectful.
