We were traveling and had stopped for breakfast. I had a seizure and the ambulance brought me here. I was given great care.

He far surpasses many other doctors. Monday, April 13: admitted as inpatient. Surgery was performed and went well. Tuesday, April 14: discharged to go home - various items of mine were in the small hospital bag issued to me. Items include: 1 pair of white shorts black stripes; 1 pair of black Rothy's , and 1 pair of prescription glasses. As of this moment no one has contacted me with updates. My prescription glasses were approximately $300 and my Rothy slip on black canvas shoes were $150. The shorts were part of a set valued at $26. I had no bottoms. The third floor nurse kindly found me a pair of blue paper pants. My brief stay at Thomas Hospital went fabulously well until things could not be located. .... I still have incredible respect for Thomas Hospital. Things don't just walk off...I would like my items back. I look forward to hearing from you. ..Thank you, Becki Ducote

He had a concussion and a cut in the forehead. He was treated like a indigent at Thomas hospital the 3 days he stayed there. They neither gave him a shower during his stay nor cleaned him up.. The orthopedic doctor did the surgery that all what they did. They neither stitched the cut on his face nor clean the blood on his face and his hand after the surgery. He had to ask them for wipes to clean himself. They send him home with no regard to his condition. It took him almost 3 months for his mind to come back and act normal. He was alone and they send him home with nobody to help him. I was in Brazil and i call the hospital to complain the treatment he had. They call me back and try to send a help after 4 days. The staff and the nurses do not do their work. They neither care about anybody nor do for what they are paid for. They just getting worse and worse. Care about patient reviews but nothing do to improve. They need better administration. Unfortunately I was away because If I was there with him I would had make a noise. I speak up and do accept lazy people not doing their job. I DO NOT RECOMMENED THOMAS HOSPITAL.

I gave this review one star so I was able to write a review or I would've given it a big fat ZERO…read more I brought my son to the ER ( 4/22/26) with what I believed was a ruptured eardrum that was bleeding( also blood in his nose) We waited the expected 31/2-4 hours ( no issues with that, this is the norm and they had some bad accidents come in via life flight) and was brought back to a room. His vitals had been checked in triage when we first arrived. The Dr. came in about 30 minutes later and I explained how he had no symptoms and from the time his ear began hurting to the rupture was 4 hours. She attempted to look in his ear and said she couldn't see because of the pooled blood and asked if I would like her to call an ENT office to see if they could see him . She called came back in the room and said they were going to call me to bring him in , wrote some antibiotics ear drops and sent us on our way. I didn't protest because frankly she seemed unnerved and nervous. I just find it baffling that if she couldn't SEE what the issue was that she wouldn't have images ordered, or anything at all. I don't know why I keep going to this hospital . They continually disappoint. If they aren't rude they lack care. This used to be the best hospital on the Coast. Now it's just trash.

On June 26, 2025 I presented to the Emergency Department with abdominal pain and was subsequently…read moreadmitted for emergency surgery, which was performed by Dr. Amy Scheller. I would just like to commend Dr. Scheller and her nurse practitioner, Heather Seymore for taking such good care of me. Dr. Scheller and her team were awesome and I would certainly consult her for any future needs that may arise. The entire surgery team is stellar. They made me feel like I mattered. And they have compassion and a wonderful bedside manner. My stay on the second floor was unfortunately not pleasant. The nurse practitioner had placed an NG tube and not long after she left the tube developed a kink. The nurse, Takyla was unable to get the tube straightened out, so she just left me like that all night. She never hooked up my leg compressions, nor did she hook my IV, I was left all night like that, dehydrating by the minute. No pain medication was ever offered and I didn't see that nurse again until the next morning. The only people who came in during the night were the techs to take my vitals and help me to the restroom. There was a very nice lady the next morning who offered to help me bathe if I wanted to. I didn't get her name, but she was very pleasant and seemed to know a bit about nursing. I was not going to complain, but the more I thought about it the more I felt compelled to write. I could have died that night and no one would have known it and I feel like they wouldn't care if I did. I felt like I was an imposition to the nursing staff and that they had other more important people to look after. I don't know if it's a cultural or societal clash. I just know I wanted to get out of there as soon as I could. And this is not the first time I have been a patient there on that floor. The nursing staff is just awful. And I've read the reviews online for SRHS and there are numerous complaints from people regarding the same things. In any case, it makes me not want to return there for treatment. And it appears that all of us patients' complaints are falling on deaf ears. I wish this could have been a more pleasant experience. But thank goodness for Dr. Scheller.

I asked her to write the very long email down she rambled off bc it was very long. Well that must be where she drew the line of her front desk clerical duties. Then the Doctor came up to the front and wow......her attitude completely left. Needless to say we left - but then as we get in the Lyft and shared the experience - I find out from a local they had been in trouble with the DEA. ***BACKGROUND*** It's 3 am in Atlanta and we are leaving for…read morea road trip to New Orleans. We were tired and my eyes were dry. I had put my contacts in, but they were burning from the dryness, but I assumed I was just tired. We stopped a couple of hours in for breakfast and changed drivers. I left my contacts in and took about an hour nap. I woke up and they were on fire, so I took my contacts out, put my glasses on and got back in the drivers seat. 5 min later, we are pulled over on the highway because I can't see. My eyes were pouring tears and felt like someone was constantly spraying pepper spray in my left eye. The pain is getting exponentially worse as I am laying in the back seat. I can no longer see out of my left eye, so I was like we must go to the ER right now. Like I was to the point of passing out from the pain. We were next to a Walgreens so we pulled in to see what the pharmascist recommended, despite the fact I was sure I was going to go blind and needed like emergency surgery or something. He told us yes immediately go to urgent care down the street. We did and we waited over an hour or maybe even 2 there (review to come for that place). But Also this whole time my eyes are closed so I didn't really see anywhere we went nor did I look at the time, I just know it was over an hour. Anyways, long story short, they check me out there and see that it is urgent and they call around looking for an on call opthamologist to see urgently. They saw there was one here so they sent me to this hospital down the street. ***ATMOSPHERE*** So I arrive here and it isn't crowded, which is great for me because I felt like a knife dipped in hot chili oil was sticking out of my eye lol. I came in and the lady at the front was normal. Not overly nice, but not rude. She let my sister fill out and sign everything for me because I couldn't see. ***EXPERIENCE / STAFF*** THIS is the part that is really 5/5 stars. The nurses immediately got me in a chair to check vitals and they asked what happened and listened to my whole story (I hate when Dr.s and nurses cut you off, but they didn't) They only interrupted me for a sec to get some numbing drops in my eye which I greatly appreciated because at this point the pain had been excruciating for hours. I was literally not able to open my eyes. They did all of that and then said it would be a min before they could take me back. It only took like literally 60 seconds. Then Stephany the PA took me back. I didn't get her name because again, I couldn't see anything, but my sister was with me and she knew I'd want to leave a review for everything so she noted her name haha. She was AMAZING. She made sure to keep giving me numbing drops when they wore off and immediately got me some stronger meds because I was dying. She then quickly got things together to re-do the test that they did at urgent care. She checked both eyes, since my right one had been burning that morning, and she saw the same thing as the urgent care. They did the blacklight test with drops that will show up on scratches on the eye. The thing is that the drops showed up on my entire cornea... My entire eye was neon green under the blacklight. The only negative thing is that the Opthamologist didn't come in. He was on call but they said it was hard to get him there unless it was really an emergency. Which makes sense. I was sure I was having an emergency, but she texted him a pic of my eye showing that it was all green and he told her what to do. And honestly, even if he would've come in, I am sure he'd have just seen the same thing in person, so that was fine. They got me a prescription for pain meds, eye drops to prevent infection and an ointment to put on my eyeball. They got an extra drop of numbing drops in and patched up my eye and sent me out. It was pretty quick and I appreciate the speediness and concern for my pain level. I immediately felt better with the meds and all the drops and creams. What I really loved was Stefany's bedside manner. She definitely was concerned but reassured me at the same time. She said I would need to come back in on Monday to see the Opthamologist, but since I was traveling, I booked an apt with one at home to see this week. She knew we were on our way to New Orleans so she was just joking and saying I'll just have to look like a pirate and to be sure not to open my eye on Bourbon street. lol I appreciated the jokes so I didn't feel so bad about "ruining" everyones trip. I felt also assured that I wasn't going blind and that it was a big deal to rip out your cornea (which is apparently what I did that morning by removing my contact from dry eyes) but that I would still be able to finish my trip, just needed to keep my eye patched up and make sure to use the things they gave me. Hopefully all is fine. We will see when I visit the Dr this week, but I was very glad they could help with the physical (and mental) pain of ruining my trip :)

Three hours later my wife went to ask if we needed to come back or wait to be seen by doctor. Doctor who was responsible for looks at MRI results said he looked at my MRI and he was 90% sure I had a ruptured disc and needed to be operated on. We stayed in ER waiting for another 5 hours without being called to see doctor or be admitted. During that time I watched at least 8 other people, who I was there before them, be admitted. I read that with my ruptured disc that I should not sit extended amount of time. I thought 12 hours of sitting was more than enough. I told the nurse I couldn't stay any longer. They said they were sorry and must have lost my diagnosis. I left.
