I went to Dr Frank because he was experienced in solving complex cases and is an expert on occlusal alignment. I need new dentures fabricated to fit my mouth. He referred me to a specialist at UCLA. Unfortunately because of health reasons traveling a 4 hour round trip would be difficult for me. I need a local doctor for maintenance for lower fixed bridge and upper snap in denture. Dr Frank and Jill were very kind and helpful, comfortable office. I can't comment on his work but I would recommend getting his opinion on your dental needs. read more

When I showed up for my appointment I was warmly greeted and seriously felt like this office was a good fit. Immediately after my consultation I scheduled to have Dr. Frank do my dental work. I was referred to Dr. Frank by Dr. Osborn for some 3d imaging before my oral surgery. I called over and made an appointment for the next morning and filled out the new patient forms on the website. I spoke to Casey on the phone and she was very kind. The next morning I arrived at the scheduled time and was met by Julia at the front desk. She took my information and directed me to the waiting area where I helped myself to the Keurig machine. I was amused that the office staff elected to play Ke$ha in the waiting room but... I sort of liked it. Moments later I was met by Jill, the Dental Assistant, who directed me to the back and performed the imaging. She took only a few minutes and then sent me on my way back to Dr. Osborn with a CD containing the images. I was only at Dr. Frank's office for a brief time but each of the staff were very friendly. Julia and Jill each greeted me with a handshake and a smile. It's apparent the doctor only hires top notch staff. The only thing I found odd about the arrangement was that Dr. Osborn told me the imaging would cost just $100, and that Dr. Frank was just across the parking lot. While both of these things were true I couldn't help but think... does this just mean Dr. Frank will be buying the first round of drinks at the golf course this weekend? Oh well. read more

Had 1pm appt on time. They gave me a tour with it being my first time. High tech scans of my mouth and in depth pictures of my mouth to have a detailed record. Doctor was pleasant and so was the dental assistant. Very in depth first consultation and explanation of my mouths condition. Tactful and nice. Good receptionist that didn't rush me out. Long bookings for revisit but it's because they spend a long time with each patient to ensure satisfaction. read more

I'm on my 2nd visit and I'm just...very impressed. Truth be told, I haven't been to a dentist since around the 1990's! I finally took courage and made an appointment after googling "best dentists in Bakersfield." I kid you not, I went to the "Best of Kern County" for my referral since my insurance didn't list any providers! This office is very professional. Even when you're making an appointment, they're taking down information and letting you tell them about your fears. It was about a 20 minute phone call, it was a little long. They always send reminder emails & follow-up emails AND text messages! They also don't double book, so you don't wait more than 10 minutes to be seen. Their office is super nice and the reception area looks like a model home living room. There's a Keurig with many choices of coffee, hot cocoa, & tea. They have lemon water, nice music. All the ladies are super friendly. Today I actually had a root planning procedure. I was nervous of any pain, but they gave me a numbing mouth wash. Before proceeding, Kelly (hygenist) tested my gums and when an area was still tender, I received lydocaine. A shot. BUT, it was not painful at all! In fact, even doing the xrays wasn't painful because I didn't have my mouth stuffed with aluminum trays like I remember (or whatever that stuff was that felt like cardboard). My husband will be going next week for the 1st time. As a graduate student in Healthcare Management, I am impressed with how well the practice is run AND with how well Dr. Frank has branded himself. He's got a gumball machine, his own lip balm, oh and after they work on you they give you a hot towel with lavender oil. I don't know if this is how Dentistry is now (since I haven't seen one in over 15 years), but now I feel spoiled and can't imagine going to any other dentist. I honestly felt like they cared to not cause me any pain. They even sent me follow-up instructions. I am so happy I came here and I am no longer afraid of dentists :) Oh and I didn't go to Dr. Frank for cosmetic dentistry, I went for a regular exam that resulted in needing some important care as a result of not seeing a dentist in over 15 years. But the fact that they do cosmetic dentistry is a plus. read more

I felt compelled to give Dr. Franks office a review. I have visited this office 2 times, once with my 11 year old. Julia was amazing, emailing all of our paperwork ahead of time, setting us up on text reminders and email reminders, phone calls, stalking my insurance because they kept giving conflicting information, etc. Top notch care from her. The office was spotless and inviting. My daughter had a cleaning and the hygienist was perfect and explained things to my daughter very well. Dr. Frank - LOVED him. He felt like a friend you had known a long time, that's how at ease he was around us. What I loved MOST was how honest he was. My daughter had a permanent tooth bursting through but her baby had not fallen out yet. He told her to just wiggle the baby tooth, it will come out. Additionally she had a cavity that was NOT bothering her at all. Again, looking at the xrays, the permanent was RIGHT there ready to come through. He told us to wait and see if the baby would come out. We have been charged for both of these procedures in the past. My daughter also asked if she would need braces (something that has been mentioned by other dentists). Dr. Frank told her it was too soon to tell that she had not lost the right baby teeth yet. WOW. I couldn't be any more impressed with this place. The ONLY reason they do not get a 5 star is because they are not contracted with any of the insurance companies. Meaning, if they charge $1,000 for a crown, insurance only allows $600 of that and pays their $50% and the patient owes $350. Without a contract, the patient would owe the $400 that the insurance didn't allow PLUS their $350. I didn't know this ahead of time or I wouldn't have gone and fallen in love with them :) If you can afford to not have the discounts offered by a dentist being contracted with insurance, I would recommend them 110%. read more

Been seeing Kelly Cox (hygienist) and Dr. frank for many years now. Wouldn't ever go anywhere else. You can call them a boutique office in that they're 100% dedicated to servicing their patients and making their dental experience comfortable. They are ALWAYS on time and I'm never there over 50 minutes for my cleanings. Anybody who treasures their time needs to go here. Being boutique however doesn't mean they gauge you. In fact, I believe very much that they are very much on par w industry standards and are very fair for the services they provide. Always top of the line instrumentation for my dental health. Do not recommend going here. Seems to me like they are more focused on making money. I made the mistake of going to this practice. I called to cancel my appointment on a Thursday for a Monday appointment. Immediately I was informed that that I would be charged $75 cancellation fee because they don't work on Friday and it doesn't count in their cancellation window. I did the best i could to cancel in advance but they did not understand. Instead the focus was more on getting $75 from me. They don't care for customer service or business. I will never go back here again. Please go give your business at another practice that cares and isn't focused on informing you their rules and regulations and extracting money. read more
